Something I thought about when seeing that picture of Elston and Houstan....I remember seeing Elston with Ademilola (sp?) brothers and Elston was about 3 inches taller than them, so Houstan looks his listed size.

so just a thing about how incredibly well recruiting is going. ND has 12 commits, no 3 stars or lower. The team with the 2nd most commits without a 3 star is LSU with 4, Bama has 3 and Auburn has 2 and thats the entire list (except teams without any commits)

Limar is committed, I think think the next run on commits comes in July. I think kids are going to take OV’s in June then do July or August announcements before senior year.

I’d expect all these guys to announce to some school in that period: Jagusah, D Moore, Hanafin, Gray, Greathouse, Limar

Not sure if Jason Moore or Freeling commit this early or not. I could see Elzy waiting to a AA bowl. Obviously I don’t see Ausberry or Mbemba announcement until December/Jan but those guys are extreme long shots

At this point I kind of expect Moore to commit on his b-day as was rumored. His social media games make me think he's getting close. If he knocks out the Miami OV in the next few weeks he could commit the 24th and use his OV here on June 10 to help recruit other guys.

Notre Dame on the road: Irish have key visits from coast to coast Monday
    Mike Singer•about 1 hour

Mike Mickens was hired as Notre Dame cornerbacks coach in 2020 (Robin Alam/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images).

After a weekend with their families, the Notre Dame football staff is back on the road Monday, May 9.

And the 10 Fighting Irish assistant coaches will be well represented, as we’re hearing four coaches will be on the West Coast, a few in Texas and a trio in North Carolina.

It could potentially be a big day for the Irish, as the staff looks to close on targets and maybe even offer new players.

Here is where Blue & Gold’s sources say that the Notre Dame coaches will be Monday:

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees & offensive line coach Harry Hiestand
The duo is expected in North Carolina to make stops for a couple big-time offensive line recruits.

Hiestand was just at Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan, home of class of 2023 offensive line pledge Sam Pendleton, last Thursday. Coaches are allowed two visits at a school during the spring evaluation period, so Notre Dame will get their second stop at Pendleton’s school Monday.

On May 2, Hiestand made a trip to the Charlotte area to visit Belmont (N.C.) Southpoint for offensive tackle Sullivan Absher. Rees and Hiestand are expected at the school today. The staff isn’t allowed a full conversation with Absher as NCAA rules prohibit that during the spring evaluation period, but their presence at the school ahead of his decision date Friday is important. Notre Dame is considered the team to beat for Absher ahead of Clemson and N.C. State.

    Running backs coach Deland McCullough
He’s expected to be in Houstan to recruit the loaded city in Texas. McCullough spent most of last week in Florida.

    Wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey
California is loaded with playmakers in the Los Angeles area, which is where Stuckey is expected to be Monday. We don’t know specifically which high schools he’ll be at, but Notre Dame has offered the following SoCal wide outs: Long Beach (Calif.) Poly’s Jason Robinson, Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic’s Emmett Mosley V, Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan’s Ryan Pellum and Los Angeles Junipero Serra’s Jason Mitchell.

    Tight ends coach Gerad Parker
He spent most of last week in Tennessee for area recruiting, and we believe Parker will spend a good chunk of this week in North Carolina. Parker coached two season at Duke (2017-18) and knows the state well.

Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden & safeties coach Chris O’Leary
We’re told that they’ll be in the Dallas area and should be making a stop at Denton (Texas) Guyer, home of 2023 Notre Dame safety pledge Peyton Bowen. This is a big visit as Bowen has discussed taking other official visits, but the staff is doing everything in their power to keep Bowen locked in. Bowen’s younger brother, Eli, is a 2024 cornerback at Guyer who holds an offer from the Irish.

    Defensive line coach Al Washington
He’ll be in Southern California, and the main stop we’re told for him is at Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei to get a look at 2024 defensive line target Aydin Breland. There are a number of other recruits at Mater Dei as always, but Breland is a top target for Washington and Co.

    Cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens
In my opinion, Mickens’ expected visits are the most interesting of all the staff.

He’s expected to make a stop at Sammamish (Wash.) Rainier Beach, as the Irish hope to make a move for 2023 four-star cornerback Caleb Presley. The Irish have been recruiting Presley for over a year but haven’t been able to get him on campus. I see Notre Dame as a long shot for Presley, but the staff is still taking a swing. Oregon is considered the favorite.

Mickens is also supposed to go over to Spanaway (Wash.) Lake, home of 2023 four-star cornerback Jasiah Wagoner, who Notre Dame hasn’t offered yet. Ranked as the No. 190 player and No. 22 cornerback nationally, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the 5-11, 160-pounder add an offer from the Irish.

Notre Dame special teams coordinator Brian Mason
After spending last week in Indiana, Mason heads out to Northern California

quite an article from Loy with Chad Bowden

Notre Dame recruiting has been on another level as of late. The staff has been putting in the work all over the country and it’s paying off in a big, big way. As it stands today, the Fighting Irish hold the No. 1 class in America according to the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings and there are no signs of them slowing down anytime soon.

Irish Illustrated and 247Sports caught up with Notre Dame Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden to get an inside look at what have been the keys to success for the Fighting Irish when it comes to recruiting and why it’s so important to land an elite group with the class of 2023, which is the first official class under head coach Marcus Freeman.

"I think it's the fact that Freeman is the primary recruiter on every kid. I think it's a trickle down effect that the staff sees. They see how much work he puts into recruiting. For him, it's the everyday grind. I don't think there's a head coach in the country that takes pride in recruiting as much as coach Freeman does and for the position coaches and the coordinators to be able to see that day in and day out, I think it makes it a lot easier for them to want to recruit,” said Bowden, when asked how they have been so successful in recruiting so far this cycle. “There's really no joke about it. Every time we talk about recruiting, Marcus makes it very clear in every staff meeting about how important this 2023 class is. With every player that's a part of this 2023 class, we do the best we can, especially with our remaining targets, to make sure that every single person is talked to or is being recruited hard by every single coach. It's been a group effort. That’s something our coordinators do extremely well. I think Tommy Rees has done an unbelievable job. Obviously that's a guy that I think will be a head coach one day. He, alongside Al Golden, who has been a head coach, I think they both do a great job of making sure that our top targets and our guys that are committed, they feel the energy and they feel that it's different and they know how much we're going to care about them. I also think something that's big is the guys that are on the roster at Notre Dame, they are enjoying the head coaching change, which helps because when you have recruits on campus. Those guys are asking the players, 'Hey, how's the change going?' They know that this 'FreemanEra' thing is the real deal. The energy in the program and in this building, everybody's excited to be a part of this. Marcus really takes pride in his players. He's more than a player's coach. I know that's a stigma that people make out for him, but he does such a great job in all facets of the program. I think recruiting-wise, our coaches are really following his lead and that has created a monster.”

When looking at the rankings right now, Notre Dame has a comfortable lead at the top. Trailing them are Texas Tech, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State and others. The Fighting Irish have 12 commits locked in at this time and they will land another 10-15 prospects before all is said and done. One of the keys this cycle will be landing an elite quarterback. The staff has been pushing hard for one particular target since day one and securing his commitment could take recruiting up another notch as well.

"We have to get our No. 1 target. It's imperative to us and winning a national championship. This 2023 class will bring a national championship to Notre Dame,” said Bowden, when asked about the importance of quarterback recruiting. “I know that there is only one guy at that quarterback position for us and we're going to do whatever we can to make sure that he comes to Notre Dame. I think it's an even bigger deal, not only for the staff, players and program, but for the fan base connected to Notre Dame to really rally around the guy that we're coming after. There's only one guy on our board and we're going to do whatever we can to make sure that he comes to Notre Dame. I think it's extremely important to land an elite quarterback this cycle and every cycle really. Notre Dame should be doing that every year. It's Notre Dame. There is not a better place in the country to go play quarterback and there's not a better offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in the country than Tommy Rees. He's the best and he's the guy that loves this program and he's been a part of the program for a long time. Yeah, he'll eventually become a head coach and rightfully so, but he's not going to leave unless it's for the right job. To be honest, he loves this program so much that there is not a chance in the world that he would leave if we land our top guy because he knows that this guy brings us much closer to winning a national championship."

For Notre Dame, it’s always been about the brotherhood that was created by the players. Coaches come and go, but the players themselves are the ones that have turned this program into something special. Their hard work, dedication, blood, sweat and tears have brought tremendous success to this program. Marcus Freeman knows the importance of that, which is why he brought back nearly 300 former players to South Bend for the 2022 Blue-Gold Spring Game. Everyone took notice, including the class of 2023 commits, who have developed their own bond and are already forming lifelong connections.

"I think it's a family. That's what makes this 2023 class so special,” said Bowden. “I don't really care at the end of the day what the rankings say, if our fanbase knew how these kids interact with one another and if they could understand how these guys are when together, they would really understand how special this class is. To be honest, looking at it nationally, it’s a great thing that all these teams are after our guys. You know, when's the last time that Notre Dame's had guys that are that coveted by Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson every single day? That is a good thing. When other top programs, schools that have won national championships, are coming after your guys, it shows that you are recruiting the right guys and we're building something special. This group is a family. The bond in that group is elite. It is a family. That's really why we can't wait for these official visits because it's not going about impressing them and it’s not going to be about showing them something they haven't seen. It's going to be a family event. It's going to be a family affair. That's all you can ask for on these official visits. These guys love each other. They're excited for what we're going to build at Notre Dame. They believe in what we're doing at Notre Dame. Really, you have to credit Marcus for that because Marcus loves these guys and he's done a great job building relationships with these guys. This is really his first class that he's bringing in as the head coach. Obviously last year he brought the defense in, but as a whole, this is his first recruiting class. We have to make sure we are bringing in the right guys that fit at Notre Dame. They also have to be difference-makers and playmakers. We want to battle Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia on every single guy we recruit. We'll continue to do that like we are now and we're ready to fight."

That said, Freeman isn’t doing this alone. When he put together his first coaching staff, he knew that he wanted to hire the best coaches in America, as well as the best recruiters. Admittedly, he still plans on being the best recruiter on staff, but he wants everyone to do their part as one unit to bring the best players and people to South Bend. So far, that’s exactly what this staff is doing.

"They're grinders. They value recruiting. They value relationships,” said Bowden, when asked about the effort this staff has been putting in on the trail. “Man, they love their rooms. It's very easy for position coaches to come in and say something like, ‘These aren't my guys.’ We don't have any position coaches like that. Everybody that Marcus has brought in understands that we have the best players in the country here at Notre Dame and our staff has done a great job of embracing their rooms, embracing the kids that are in those rooms, embracing Notre Dame and really taking pride in it. They have taken pride in the program, the university and everything that Notre Dame has to offer. It is the greatest university in college football and college athletics. We have athletics and academics. This is a place that plays for national championships, but also you have an opportunity to get an Ivy League education. You can't get that anywhere else. We used to have to compete with Stanford when Andrew Luck was there, because they were playing for a national title and they had an Ivy League education, but there's not any other program in the country that's offering it like we are or have been for years. You have the ability to come to a place that is going to set you up while you're here, you're gonna get developed, you're gonna get coached by the best, you're gonna get developed by the best in coach Balis, and you're gonna play in front of 77,000 of the best fans in the country, you're going to see Touchdown Jesus, and our coaching staff embraces all the unbelievable things that Notre Dame has to offer. But it goes beyond that. When you're a part of Notre Dame, you're entering a family, one that will do whatever they can for you. That's special. There are people from Tampa, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Dallas and other major areas that simply want to take care of you for the rest of your life because you are or were a part of the Notre Dame network. It's a family that you can't get anywhere else. It's incredible. It's different. It's what makes this place special."

definitely explains why recruiting is different now than under BK

    Singer's Mock Class:

Back on March 1, we published our first 2023 Notre Dame mock class with the caveat that it was “way too early” to give an accurate projection. But at the same time, this is recruiting, and it’s virtually impossible to predict at any point of the process with so many moving parts.

But there actually aren’t too many changes from the first mock class to version 2.0. It was 69 days since we published our last mock class, which is essentially a lifetime in recruiting.

This article is meant to be more informative of what the class could look like, giving Notre Dame fans an update on where our sources feel the Irish are at with the 2023 cycle mixed with our own gut feelings..

    QUARTERBACK — 1
Detroit Martin Luther King’s Dante Moore: There was a hope from the Notre Dame side that Moore would end his recruitment after his late-March visit to South Bend, but he’s stretching things out into the summer and taking official visits. He’s taken officials to LSU and Oregon, and we expect Notre Dame to host him in June. Sources continue to feel very good about the Irish’s standing with Moore, but with him taking these other trips, you just never know what can happen.

Overall thoughts: Landing Moore would obviously be huge for Notre Dame. If he goes elsewhere, then I’d look for Notre Dame to keep an eye on the transfer portal and/or assess new options for the 2023 class. It may be a home run or strikeout scenario.

    RUNNING BACK — 2
Miami Christopher Columbus’ Sedrick Irvin Jr.: He’s been committed to the Fighting Irish since last September and has visited campus twice since Deland McCullough became the team’s new running backs coach. By all accounts, Irvin is locked in with Notre Dame.

Lake Stevens (Wash.) High’s Jayden Limar: We’re loving where Notre Dame stands with the four-star running back from the Pacific Northwest. The Irish have a log jam at the position, but Limar feels good about it after talking it over with McCullough during his Blue-Gold Game visit. Michigan and Oregon are considered the other main contenders for Limar, but the Irish look to have the clear lead here.

Overall thoughts: This would be another strong B or B+ running back class for Notre Dame. The Justice Haynes of the world don’t seem to be all that attracted to the Irish, but landing Irvin and Limar would be very good. We’re not quite counting out Jeremiyah Love, either. Notre Dame is still recruiting the electric running back from St. Louis.

    WIDE RECEIVER — 4
Del Valle (Texas) High’s Braylon James: Notre Dame went from an afterthought to a major contender in James’ recruitment in the matter of a couple weeks and landed his commitment in April. The four-star prospect is a strong start to what could be an elite wide receiver class for position coach Chansi Stuckey.

Austin (Texas) Westlake’s Jaden Greathouse: He’s expected to officially visit Notre Dame, Oklahoma and South Carolina in June. An official to the local Texas Longhorns is certainly possible as well. But from everything we’re hearing and in our chats with Greathouse, the Fighting Irish look to be in very good position for him. My Notre Dame prediction for Greathouse is logged, and I believe it’ll be accurate.

Uniontown (Pa.) Laurel Highlands’ Rodney Gallagher: I included Gallagher in the March 1 mock class article and wrote the following: “This projection isn’t the most likely pick for this article, but we’re rolling with it.” Well, a couple months later, and it’s not so much a projection now as it is something I believe very well may happen in less than two months. It looks like Notre Dame, Penn State and West Virginia are at the top of the board for the dynamic playmaker, and I give the Fighting Irish the edge. He’ll officially visit in June and make his decision public July 4. The Notre Dame staff has done a fantastic job in this recruitment, and I believe they’ll get the job done.

Folsom (Calif.) High’s Rico Flores Jr.: A day before Gallagher comes off the board, Flores is set to announce his commitment, and he’s down to Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas and UCLA. Sources on the Irish side of things feel that Notre Dame can pull off this recruiting win. This would personally surprise me, but Stuckey and Co. have done a great job in the Flores’ sweepstakes thus far.

Overall thoughts: My last mock class was the same at wide receiver, except I had Carnell Tate listed instead of Flores. That ship seems to have sailed, while Notre Dame sources feel that the Irish will land Flores. This quartet would be one of Notre Dame’s best receiver classes in a long time.

    TIGHT END — 1
Concord (Calif.) De La Salle’s Cooper Flanagan: Alabama, LSU and others want to flip the four-star tight end away from the Irish, but he’s locked in with Notre Dame. Flanagan will officially visit Notre Dame in June, and I doubt any other programs host him.

Overall thoughts: I only have Notre Dame signing one tight end but don’t be surprised if it ends up being two. It would be an epic upset if the Irish were able to flip Lawson Luckie from Georgia; this is something I’m absolutely not ruling out.

    OFFENSIVE LINE — 5
Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan’s Sam Pendleton: He was not included in the last mock class because, well, the Irish hadn’t even offered him yet. Pendleton committed to Notre Dame in April and is locked in with his pledge.

Belmont (N.C.) South Point’s Sullivan Absher: Clemson was thought of as the favorite in those circles for a while, but Notre Dame was quietly the favorite from what we had been hearing. Absher is expected to announce his commitment between Clemson, N.C. State and Notre Dame on Friday, and we give the Irish the edge going into his decision date.

Mount Pleasant (S.C.) Oceanside Collegiate Academy’s Monroe Freeling: Clemson, Miami and Notre Dame are the three programs discussed the most when it comes to Freeling’s recruitment. Could the Irish really beat out Clemson for Absher and Freeling? Heck, even Pendleton held an offer from the Tigers. Notre Dame sources believe that Freeling is leaning towards the Irish, but this one is way too close to call at the moment. But for the purposes of the mock class, he belongs in it.

Rock Island (Ill.) Alleman’s Charles Jagusah: He’s long been considered a Notre Dame lean, but in hindsight, that was overstated. Don’t get me wrong — I still believe he ends up with the Irish, but it’s not a slam dunk as we once thought. Look for Jagusah to officially visit Notre Dame in June and then likely wrap up his recruitment before his senior season begins. Arkansas, Michigan and Missouri are among the other contenders for the On3 five-star player.

Phoenix Pinnacle’s Elijah Paige: Irish offensive line coach Harry Hiestand went out to see Paige practice last week, and we hear that he liked what he saw. Paige will officially visit Notre Dame the first weekend of June, and assuming that the Irish continue to push for him, we believe Hiestand and Co. will get the job done.

Overall thoughts: Three straight classes with five offensive linemen in it? That’s a lot, but that’s what we’re hearing as of right now. This would be a fantastic group. Pendleton is the only player of this quintet that screams interior player; the other four offer great versatility. This five-man group — on paper — might be better than the 2021 and 2022 offensive line hauls for the Irish.

    DEFENSIVE LINE — 5
Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep’s Keon Keeley: While others schools will continue to recruit him until National Signing Day, we do expect Notre Dame to hold on to the nation’s No. 9 player and five-star recruit. In fact, I’m feeling better than ever about Notre Dame’s chances to keep Keeley in the class. The only schools that I have any concern about are Alabama and Ohio State, but at this point, I doubt he takes officials elsewhere. Notre Dame isn’t completely out of the woods yet, but they’re close.

Mentor (Ohio) High’s Brenan Vernon: The top-100 recruit is locked in with Notre Dame. Don’t forget about how big-time of a get this is, Notre Dame fans. Most pundits considered Vernon an absolute lock to Ohio State, but he spurned the Buckeyes for the Fighting Irish.

West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial’s Boubacar Traore: He wasn’t included in the last mock class as he was committed to Boston College, and I didn’t have a great feel on his recruitment, but once he back off his pledge to the Eagles, it was pretty apparent that Notre Dame would be very tough to beat for him. Traore is locked in with the Irish.

Hagerstown (Md.) St. James School’s Devan Houstan: Landing the talented 6-5, 270-pounder over the weekend was big news for the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame was running thin on spots and was able to squeeze Houstan in the class. We expect him to remain solid in his pledge.

Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic’s Jason Moore: I have a prediction in for Notre Dame to land the nation’s No. 39 player and No. 5 defensive lineman. Sources on the Irish side of things still believe the talented prospect is trending their way, but Penn State does a great job in the DMV and won’t make winning the recruitment easy. Michigan and Ohio State are also pushing for Moore.

Overall thoughts: Notre Dame has its four defensive line commits, and the only way they’ll get to five is if Jason Moore commits, which I am projecting right now. It would be an outstanding defensive line class for Notre Dame.

    LINEBACKER — 3
Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean’s Drayk Bowen: It would take a lot for Bowen to re-think his Notre Dame commitment. He is locked in with the Irish.

Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic’s Preston Zinter: See Bowen.

Baton Rouge (La.) University Laboratory School’s Jaiden Ausberry: Pulling Ausberry out of LSU’s backyard would be a major victory for the Fighting Irish — maybe the biggest single recruiting win of the class. Projecting Ausberry to Notre Dame might be viewed as a bit homer-ish, but Irish sources feel good about it happening.

Overall thoughts: This would be another outstanding linebacker class for Notre Dame, hitting on three priority targets.

    DEFENSIVE BACK — 4
Denton (Texas) Guyer’s Peyton Bowen: There was a period where I thought Notre Dame had an uphill battle to keep Bowen’s pledge, but those days are gone. I like the Irish to keep Bowen in the class. He had his fun visiting other schools since his commitment, but I believe he’s locked in with his pledge and will turn his attention to his senior year.

Irvington (N.J.) High’s Adon Shuler: The four-star recruit is locked in with Notre Dame. A handful of schools have offered him since he made his commitment last August, but he’s considered solid in his pledge.

St. Louis De Smet’s Christian Gray: He’s taking official visits to his unofficial top four schools in June: Notre Dame, USC, LSU and Ohio State. I believe he’ll ultimately decide between LSU and Notre Dame. I give the edge to the Irish right now, but it’s a very tight race. Notre Dame has put so much work into this recruitment; losing it would be a major loss.

Houston The Kinkaid School’s Micah Bell: I consider the four-star cornerback a Notre Dame lean at this point, and I’m not sure it’s all that close. I haven’t logged a pick yet for him because there’s still a good bit of uncertainty on the cornerback board. But if Notre Dame pushes hard for him — and he will officially visit June 17 — then I believe the Irish will land him.

Overall thoughts: Bowen and Shuler gives the Irish two big-time safeties, and you’d have to be excited by a cornerback class of Bell and Gray. This would be an excellent haul for the Irish at positions that they always haven’t recruited all that well.

    ATHLETE — 1
Cambridge (Mass.) Buckingham Browne & Nichols’ Ronan Hanafin: Notre Dame wants this versatile player who could be a wide receiver, safety or linebacker in its 2023 class. He’ll officially visit in June, and despite Alabama and Clemson becoming major factors in Hanafin’s recruitment, we still believe he’s trending towards the Irish.

Overall thoughts: I left Samuel M’Pemba off this mock class article after including him in the first one. I could’ve very easily included him in this one as I believe the Irish are a top option for him, but it’s my gut feeling that Notre Dame doesn’t land him.

    How would this class rank?
The On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking compiles the highest-rated commits for each team up to a total based on a rolling average of current total commitments among Power Five schools. There’s no telling what the rolling average will be for the 2023 class, so we went with 19, which is what the number was in the 2022 class.

Below is each recruit from the mock class with their On3 Consensus ranking grade.

    1. Dante Moore 97.42
    2. Keon Keeley 97.26
    3. Charles Jagusah 94.75
    4. Jason Moore 94.55
    5. Peyton Bowen 94.17
    6. Jaiden Ausberry 94.05
    7. Monroe Freeling 93.83
    8. Drayk Bowen 93.45
    9. Brenan Vernon 93.2
    10. Braylon James 92.67
    11. Rodney Gallagher 92.47
    12. Christian Gray 92.4
    13. Boubacar Traore 92.10
    14. Jaden Greathouse 92.0
    15. Micah Bell 91.03
    16. Sullivan Absher 91.0
    17. Cooper Flanagan 90.75
    18. Adon Shuler 90.6
    19. Devan Houstan 90.6
    20. Rico Flores Jr. 90.35 *
    21. Jayden Limar 89.92 *
    22. Ronan Hanafin 89.0 *
    23. Sedrick Irvin 89.0 *
    24. Sam Pendleton 88.78 *
    25. Elijah Paige 88.28 *
    26. Preston Zinter 88.5 *
      * Would not count towards On3 Consensus team ranking with rolling average of 19
    Total points: 1,768.3 divided by 19 = 93.068

How would the group rank if it was placed in the 2022 class?

That score would be good for the No. 5 class in the country for the 2022 class, one spot of where the Irish actually ended last cycle. And this is a mock class that basically projects Notre Dame to land all of its A-list targets, which goes to show how difficult signing a top-five class is.

agreed, and with ND finishing w/ that many top 100 recruits, that's fewer for everyone else which will hurt their rankings

The rules all make sense, but the enforcement is going to be a mess. Whoever gets sanctioned will immediately sue, and if it gets to a higher court, it will likely take years to settle and that settlement will likely go against the NCAA (at least based on the threats the Federal Gov threw at the NCAA when they made their NIL ruling).

The Athletic is reporting that collective reps have called this move “adorable”, and unfortunately they’re probably right.

If the NCAA does attempt to reign in collectives no schools stand to benefit more than the big northern schools like OSU, ND, and Mich
