Would be cool to see him end with another solid campaign. Been with us for nearly a decade, let’s have him go out in top
with all of Wisky's losses to the draft, I am not scared of them at all Clemson is a whole different matter though
We'll beat Wisconsin If we don't I might have to get divorced because I won't be able to stand my in-laws
Somogyi's info on the OC search: Here is some of the latest I've been told regarding OC: • Mike Denbrock appears to be gaining a little more traction and interest. Personally, I think it's a little awkward, but the source says there is legitimacy to it. • Rees becoming the OC is not as automatic as some might think. The staff believes there is Playoff/national title potential in 2020 because of the combination of personnel and the way the schedule is set up, and there is some question about turning the reins completely over to him as they did with Chip Long. There is some newness and rawness there with Rees, although it's likely his role will expand. How much they want it to is what is the sticking point because they would prefer an experienced hand helping there (which is where someone like a Denbrock might fit in — not to say it will happen). • Joe Moorhead would be the proverbial knockout hire and there is genuine interest, but the two factors they want to address are some of the purported personality issues while at Mississippi State and the duration of time at Notre Dame. In other words, would he after success, leave in one year for a head coaching position similar to how Mike Elko did for A&M after one year?
There it is. They've properly head-faked towards an exhaustive national search and now they are softening the landing for Rees or Denbrock or both.
oh yeah. can't have someone with traits concerns on staff after three years harboring suspected terrorist Chip Long.
He did have ties to that Iranian General. Word is that Chip wasn't too far down the Trump drone strike list.
Man. I think even the media would hammer BK on Denbrock hire. He was demoted here 3 years ago. So were in better shape as a program and your gonna turn it back over to him? I wonder if Sampson would backtrack. On podcast he was very down on Denbrock thing and didnt think it was realistic
Denbrock was a top tier position coach. Was he ever for sure the play caller when he was the ND OC? I feel like the answer is no. Moorehead is the infinitely more attractive option, but I hate Denbrock a lot less than the other BK retreads.
Denbrock is a good coach, the problem is that he is a bk retreat. Like you said. I want no part of old kelly, absolutely none. If he is seeking yes men we are fucked
I think Rees can be really good. Always have. Turning keys over with a national playoff type roster is scary because you want experience. That's why Denbrock to help with Nuts and Bolts isnt a bad deal. But it will be seen that way
I don’t want to lose Rees but I think it’d be good for him to get another point of view from coaching and then come back eventually. I’d prefer that he gets co-OC with Moorehead or Monken and learns that way, but don’t want him to be held back in his career. reading between the lines though makes this seem that Kelly is really looking elsewhere for the position or Rees wouldn’t be taking that interview.
So ND athletics in general are not doing all that great compared to recent norms we've become accustomed to. What gives? Has Jack become too complacent? Has Thoros of Beer brought the entire empire down with his saltiness?
Coachd is not taking the jurkovec news well Since it’s quiet right now, what do you guys think about owusu? Should he stay at rover or play buck next year. I am on the fence, leaning towards keeping him at rover since he is so perfect for it. I kind of want lamb to emerge at buck.
I’d like for him to stay a rover. He can be elite there. He is just getting settled in at the position. Btw Shayne Simon is such a disappointment for me. I thought he was going to be a monster. I’ve come from worrying about the LBs so much to having confidence Lea will figure it out and it’s no big deal.
he was starting to look ok when he got injured, he will play next year. Seems like a great run stopper and blitzer
I think Lamb and Simon will be solid next year. Lamb will give a different skill set on passing downs. JOK needs to stay at rover with his playing making skills.
Who do we want for CB coach? Clearly need someone to close on some top level CBs this upcoming cycle.
II went into this a lot. On the one hand he was so good at Rover you don't mess with it On the other, Buck seams to be the feature of the defense and the other options at Rover may be better than those at Buck. Verdict, Lea will figure it out
oh shit...and I did not consider it since I knew who it was about but this also could’ve looked like it was about Clark lea which would give me a little stroke if I didn’t know.
