I was thinking more modern era, but oh God yes, That takes me back to guys like Joey Getherall, Jim Flanagan, my guy Marc Edwards, and of course Because that is how Purdue should be treated.
1. Zorich (I'm old) 1B. Golden, Jaylon, Big Lou. I just love those guys. It's not about their performance. It's performance+circumstances +personality.
Kelly was just on NFLN He is smug as fuck about the dudes going to the NFL next year. It didn't show but he really had that feel of, "yeah, we are doing shit". Gave a shout to Jaylon being back on campus and finishing what he started.
Whoa, I wonder what a&m pays him, like 2 millions? This is getting ridiculous, it’s hard to not be pro pay for play when you see these types of numbers
if it wasn't clear before, this article pretty much proves Tyree is a silent to ND Spoiler Shamrock Secrets: Intel On Top RB Target Chris Tyree Mike Singer • BlueAndGold.com @rivals_singer Get a FREE 60-day trial and four FREE copies of the BGI digital magazine using promo code Irish60 BGI recruiting insider Mike Singer spent Wednesday morning at Thomas Dale High School in Chester (Va.) to gather the following insights on running back Chris Tyree , the nation's No 61 overall player. Here are insider nuggets from that one-on-one sit down. *** Chris Tyree will decide between Alabama, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma on May 23. Coming into my visit at his high school on Wednesday, I already felt good enough to put in a FutureCast prediction for the Fighting Irish to land Tyree, but I figured I'd wait until I met with him in person and spent time at his school to put that prediction in. And yes, I finally put in my FutureCast pick and feel very good about where Notre Dame stands. *** Tyree has been very diligent in going through his options. With his high school coach, Kevin Tucker, Tyree made a list of around 18-20 factors that are most important to him in a school and by going through that list, he was able to rank each school. I was told of a couple very interesting, unique things that were on his list. One was the athletic director of the school and what kind of person and leader he/she is. And the other was how the program treats a player who is injured and what kind of opportunities are given to him. Overall, this was an interesting takeaway for me that showed just how smart and thoughtful of a young man Tyree is. *** The Rivals100 running back was considering an official visit to Alabama but that is unlikely to happen. Tyree is very busy with his track schedule and the one weekend he had available was June 7, but Nick Saban has some prior engagement (not sure what exactly it is) so that weekend didn't work out. His Notre Dame visit is set for June 21 and has been set for several months. But with Tyree announcing a decision on May 23, what does that do for his trip to South Bend? It's certainly an interesting situation. 60 NATIONAL 2 STATE 1 POSITION CHRIS TYREE RANK 5.9 5'10" | 185 LBS | APB THOMAS DALE CHESTER, VA CLASS OF 2020 UNDECIDED *** I'm told that the Notre Dame June 21 visit and a potential Alabama June 7 visit were not necessities for his decision making process. Tyree has seen everything he needs to in prior visits to Alabama, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma. The Fighting Irish staff set up his official visit months ago, and with the plane ticket already booked, the Tyree family didn't feel it was best to cancel the trip. As of Wednesday morning the trip is still on, but I wouldn't be shocked if they did end up moving the date -- not because he'll commit elsewhere and then cancel his ND visit --- but because Tyree may want to save his official until this fall. *** What if he commits to Oklahoma? Would he still take the Notre Dame June 21 visit? My answer to that is -- I just don't see him committing to Oklahoma, and I definitely don't see him committing to Alabama. The Crimson Tide were just too little, too late, and my sources on the Oklahoma side of things don't feel very confident on Tyree. While Alabama and Oklahoma certainly want Tyree in their respective classes, Notre Dame outworked everyone else on this recruitment. My sources feel very good with where the Irish stand heading into next Thursday's decision. *** Tyree has been in consistent contact with running backs coach Lance Taylor and offensive coordinator Chip Long. He added that he talked with head coach Brian Kelly last week. If you'll remember, Kelly visited Thomas Dale during the fall, which is not common for the Irish head coach to do during the season. Notre Dame is definitely making Tyree feel like a priority for their 2020 class. *** To harp on my point of how much Notre Dame wants and needs Tyree, read this quote from Tyree on the Irish: "Their pitch is, if they can get a guy like me, then it would pretty much complete their offense." *** Talking to a source, the fact Taylor, Long and even Kelly built such strong bonds with Tyree is why the Irish were able to weather his visit to Oklahoma. Tyree was close to committing to Oklahoma during that April 12 official visit, but the work the staff put in prior to that weekend allowed them to keep the Irish in the game, and ultimately should be a key in his final decision. *** I stopped at two other high schools in the Richmond area, and those coaches absolutely raved about Tyree -- not only as a player but as a person. Honestly, I haven't talked to a single person with either knowledge of Tyree as a person or knowledge of Tyree's recruitment that has a single bad word to say about him. I've only heard the highest compliments. *** Here is what Hopewell head coach Ricky Irby had to say about Tyree: "Chris Tyree the person is an unbelievable kid. He has a great family. As a person, I've been very impressed with him the past three years as we've played him and when I get to know him at camps and things like that. He's just a great kid and an unbelievable football player." *** His family is comfortable with any of Chris' choices. They feel he can't go wrong with any of his three choices. Alabama offers the Nick Saban effect and a nearly guaranteed playoff birth every season, Oklahoma has an offense that Tyree could thrive in, and Notre Dame has the tradition, very high academic standards, and a strong chance to play in the playoffs as well. Added Tucker: "You have three schools that are competing for a national championship every year. Chris can't go wrong with one of those three. Each of them has a little bit different of a dynamic. Three great situations for him and I'm excited for Chris." *** Tyree is feeling the love from Notre Dame quarterback commit Drew Pyne , and he has a strong bond with Irish safety Jalen Elliott. "Jalen is like my big brother," Tyree said. "I've known him for a long time."
Didn’t Quinn meet with this guy yesterday/he have an official scheduled for June? I wonder if they told him to punt on his visit?
He tried to commit on his last visit and the staff wouldn’t take it Atteberry and Carmody are the top 2 on the board
It wouldn’t be surprising if they were Per Driskell, Quinn went to see Zinter workout and the workout was not impressive
A little bit of a different topic but it’s amazing how harbaugh had solid ols at Stanford but can’t seem to recruit that position well at Michigan. It’s so crucial to his style of play
Rolfs is legit as fuck. They poured money in and it shows. Excited to see the new indoor FB facility.
Pelican, you keep your hands off Phillips, please, he is our only shot at a premium corner this cycle
now that Tyree is in the bag, CP3 is the final piece...get him and we have an elite player at all the primary positions of need and everyone else is just a bonus
this is what Loy posted in regards to how good ND feels about Tyree: I've now been told they have had to turn away two running backs that wanted to commit including one earlier this week. Clearly they feel good about good news coming next week. Man, what a huge pickup that would be...
he usually posts it the day before the commit announces, so I think this is someone else...maybe atteberry? or possibly a 2021 kid
Listened to his new BGI podcast today - this matches up well with the vibe I got from him while listening
Podcast is worthless, I liked the other guys as they revealed all their premium knowledge on air. These guys just talk about how shitty their job is and to subscribe to learn their “info”.
unfortunately, if theres a certainty in college lax, it's that duke will end ND's season if they meet in the tournament. that was probably the toughest since 2010 (which will never be topped, i hope)
