He’s visiting on 6-21
Bit of personal news. I took a teaching and coaching job in Texas in the DFW area. I've been coaching in San Diego for a long time but with cost of living, my family growing, and the draw of TEXAS HS FOOTBALL I landed a job here. I'm at a school that's not known as a power but we will be playing some studs. I also had an interview lined up with Arlington HS who has a ND offered DB. But job offers we're hard to come by and I had 2 that we're running out so I took one.
Anyways, give me all your Dallas/FW recruiting questions in about 4 months.
Congrats my guy.
You’re on the defensive side, right?
Tell us where! I lived in Allen for a couple years in high school
And to think, I just moved to your part of San Diego.
Good luck in Tejas. Bring a little of that SoCal swagger to Arlington.
Congrats man, that’s awesome.
Congrats Robdog and welcome to the area...it is VERY hot in the summer...triple digits frequently and it feels it but the springs and falls are pretty nice and the winters aren't too bad generally.
Honestly I'll take 105 with low humidity over 90 with 90% humidity every day of the week. I loved living in Dallas.
I guess he was here this past weekend my bad
They are trying to get him to OV that weekend too
Is the consensus that Kyle Hamilton will start day 1?
Doubt it. If Crawford stays healthy he has the nickel locked. Gilman and Elliott are potential captains so they start. I'm sure they will find packages for him if he is ready, but I just don't see it unless Crawford does Crawford stuff.
I hope he can stay healthy. Dude deserves a solid year to end his playing career
I want him to be successful as the kid has had a lot of really bad breaks and he seemed like he was going to be electric with instincts off the charts. That said, at what point do you stop wasting quality snaps in practice on a dude hurt 3 times to allow for some of the young talent to catch up mentally?
Hamilton’s top end ability is too good not to find a way for him on the field early and often to get exposure.
No, he’s going to back up both safety positions though. He’s going to get a shot at nickel but sounds like that will be Crawford/Avery Davis
Anyone willing and able to post this?
Even if he is "healthy", I doubt we see what he showed when he got here. What is it, two acl's and an Achilles?
I think Elmers glue is what holds that kid together
We decided to post tonight's charms early because we got some intel on OL recruiting...
*** From Mike Singer: Mars (Penn.) four-star offensive tackle Michael Carmody unofficially visited Notre Dame last week, and the feeling with him was that there was a great shot that the Irish would land him following his time in South Bend. We're several days out from that visit, and all has been quiet on the Carmody front. The latest I'm hearing is that there is some concern growing about where Notre Dame stands for Carmody. Concern does not equal panic though.
*** Also from Singer: After days of contemplating his recruitment, Carmody will in fact officially visit Ohio State on June 21. He will also officially visit Michigan on June 19-21. In talking to those on the Michigan side of things, there wasn't a sense that the Wolverines were a real threat to land Carmody, but that seems to have changed with him taking a midweek OV there. EJ, Bryan, and I all have FutureCast picks in for Carmody to Notre Dame at the moment. Again, his decision to make two more OVs as opposed to returning to Notre Dame is a bit concerning but not the end of the world.
*** Eaglecrest (Colo.) offensive lineman Reece Atteberry is still set to make an official visit to Notre Dame on June 21. Nothing has really changed much in this recruitment. If Notre Dame pushes, we feel like the Irish can earn a commitment. We will know more on Atteberry’s status following his trip to South Bend. Right now, offensive line recruiting is fluid as there are limited spots.
*** Speaking of fluid situations, defensive back recruiting continues to be an enigma. I’m told that four-star Little Elm (Texas) cornerback Ryan Watts has informed the Oklahoma staff that he will make other visits. I expect him to use official visits on Penn State and Michigan. Watts has already used an OV on Notre Dame. I don’t expect much movement here but thought it was worth bringing up. It could be something to monitor down the line.
been on vacation and just got back today...thought this was interesting while i was out
A new, somewhat unexpected 247Sports Crystal Ball pick went in for Notre Dame late Sunday night.
Here’s the latest from Irish Illustrated regarding the pick of Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial four-star wide receiver Jalen McMillan to Notre Dame.
Way back when McMillan’s recruitment started blowing up, I had the 6-2, 181-pounder from the class of 2020 heading to play for the Fighting Irish. He was very vocal about wanting the offer early on, the school checked off all of the boxes he was looking for in a school, and he simply fit everything Notre Dame was looking for in a student-athlete. Despite the location, it just seemed to make sense for Notre Dame to potentially land him down the road.
Moving forward, the vibe started to change. Others like Washington and Oklahoma made major moves in this recruitment and it seemed as though the Fighting Irish fell from first to third, maybe even fourth at best with USC firmly in the picture as well.
Getting back to the current pick, I checked in with three different sources on this one before putting in the pro-Fighting Irish prediction. I wanted to cover all bases on this one. I checked in with a source close to Notre Dame, another close to the elite prospect, and another at a different school, one of his current finalists. The feedback I received all had him leaning heavily toward Notre Dame right now. One source stated that Notre Dame absolutely has the edge as of today and that it’s going to take a major change to beat the Irish. Another said that the Irish took the lead during his multi-day trip this offseason and that’s been the school the beat since that point. The last source said that unless the offense and team as a whole comes out and underperforms this fall, Notre Dame is going to land him.
This is recruiting. Things change often, so this isn’t set in stone and he’s far from a lock to any school at this point. Washington has always been a major threat, Oklahoma’s ridiculous offense is going to give him a lot to consider, USC could bounce back this year and make it hard on Notre Dame. However, as it stands right now, I feel good about ND’s chances, so I’m riding with the Irish here.
247Sports Ranking: No. 31 overall player, No. 4 wide receiver, No. 7 recruit in California

it's Loy, so you know
It’s not gonna be Ohio State for Atteberry so he should be ND assuming he’s a take.
Quinn landed his top target which is good, but man he is not closing well otherwise
Last year’s class was nice but most of those guys had ND at or near the top of their lists before he took over
Yeah, I'll believe we land a dude from Fresno when he's literally lining up in an Irish uniform
Mansfield/Grand Prairie area is where I'll live. About 40 min drive to work at Newman Smith HS.
Losing Christ and Skoronski was bad
If they don’t land Carmody I’ll believe it’s because they slow played him and valued Christ and the Mormon higher
When are we talking about Jeff Quinn being bad at his job?
For some reason Michigan owns a ton of real estate in Coach D's head. The last BGI podcast he was trying to rationalize how Michigan isn't a big rivalry for ND and how the matchup doesn't get him excited. Was a pretty incredible amount of mental gymnastics.
Thought he was pretty spot on for once. Michigan is shit to Nd. Why the hell should Nd even want to play that shit school that doesn’t win shit
If this last year ever taught us something is to never play Michigan again, they seem to have enough pull to overcome a loss against Nd. Even if Nd won, Michigan was the better team...
Driskell is a legit crazy person
He should have been a lawyer because he fucking loves to argue with people
He would argue himself, he is definitely nuts.
Comparing the last twenty years of Michigan and ND football is kind of like:
ND just didn’t have Ohio State to humiliate them every year
Instead it was a collection of Bama, Clemson, USC, LSU, Ohio State, Miami taking their place
But his point about Michigan was good, I mean what the fuck does Nd needs to do to get the benefit of the doubt?
It’s too early yet but him and Long seem to have misread the OL cruits
Even with that misread the OL is outrageously deep for the next 3 years
They need to win a big game, ND and Michigan trading wins the last 20 years has been irrelevant to each program because neither team can win the big game. It’s the opposite of 85-95 when the winner of Mich/ND was automatically the NC front runner
I am not talking about the last fucking 20 years, I am talking about the last 2 years. Fuck the past. Why on earth is Michigan rated so high after what they showed?
Nd best fucking Michigan that they all ranked top fucking ten
And they do it again, and frankly it’s perfect if you ask me but i get his point.
Not the year after signing Correll, Carroll, Kristofic, and Olmsted.
I have no idea why Michigan is rated in the top ten after last season and losing their entire defense. It’s really weird
It's called a Harbuagh. Dude is insanely overrated.
That’s a rough sentence, damn. My bad guys.
Huh? Beating that overrated Michigan team last year helped propel us into the top 5 for the whole season and made us a no-brainer playoff team as the bright spot on our resume.
If anything, playing Michigan in the Harbaugh era where they're good enough to get 9-10 wins annually where they would give us a real quality win if we win, but don't scare you enough to mark it down as an L each year, is perfect.
If they win against osu they go right over us. The narrative all year long was that Michigan was just playing out of conference against Nd early and they finally got better later. And they would destroy Nd in a neutral site. Where were you?
None of that actually happened, though. It was just dumb talking heads and paranoid ND fans freaking themselves out.
A 12-1 Big 10 Champ OSU team didn't make the playoffs, a 12-1 Big 10 champ UM team with a loss to ND would not have been ranked above ND. It's crazy to think that win last year wasn't anything else but great for us.
michigan is our biggest rival
