excited for the commit, but i do think he's a little overrated based on what everyone is saying about his camp performances (not just ND's, but other's as well) let's see how he develops over the next year or two
21 feels like how we have been talking about the “next class” for a decade where we assume kids are gonna be in it then we miss (Henning, Paris j this year for example) except now we are landing them
who knows, the whole country offered him already so everyone saw something...he still has a long way to go in his development
Loy's 5 for 2021 class Spoiler Five from the 2021 class Notre Dame is in good shape to land VIP ByTOM LOY 93 minutes ago 13 Notre Dame is off to a tremendous start with the class of 2021. The Fighting Irish have already landed five commitments that cycle and holds the No. 2 overall spot according to the 247Sports Team Composite Recruiting Rankings. Let’s take a look at five recruits I believe Notre Dame either leads for or is in the top two or three. My 247Sports Crystal Ball reads Notre Dame for Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis three-star cornerback Daylan Carnell. The 6-2, 188-pounder, who is ranked as the No. 32 athlete nationally, due to his two-way abilities, is a player I see the Fighting Irish landing. Carnell has been to campus multiple times, has a great relationship with a couple of coaches on staff, and looks to be leaning toward staying home and playing his ball in-state come decision time. Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Nebraska, Purdue and others will make it interesting, but I like Notre Dame as of today. Notre Dame just landed a tight end from the class of 2021, but I believe the Irish have an edge for another as well. Aurora (Colo.) Cherokee Trail three-star tight end Sam Hart just visited Notre Dame and I’m confident in saying Notre Dame is on top at this point. It’s early for the 6-5, 225-pounder and many other offers will surely come his way, but I think the Fighting Irish are going to be tough to beat. If looking for a school that could potentially trump Notre Dame with an offer, keep an eye on Clemson. That said, Notre Dame would love to pair Hart and Cane Berrong in the 2021 class. Michigan is surely going to make it interesting, but I like Notre Dame today for Clarkston (Mich.) high school four-star offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger. The 6-6, 277-pounder has dealt with a couple of shoulder injuries, but he’ll be ready to roll this year. Ranked as the No. 1 tackle in the 2021 class per 247Sports, Dellinger has offers from all over the country. Notre Dame has done a great job here and as long as the Irish continue to push, I like their chances. 13COMMENTS Coming out of his visit, Olney (Md.) Good Counsel four-star offensive tackle Landon Tengwall said that he thought about committing to Notre Dame. He obviously didn’t, but he didn’t shy away from naming the Fighting Irish his leader. Things have calmed down a little since that point, but one thing is for sure, he likes Notre Dame a lot and the staff has him at the top of the board. Alabama, Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State and others were make this a close battle, but I like my 247Sports Crystal Ball pick for Notre Dame as of today. Pickerington (Ohio) Central four-star wide receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr. is a special talent. A ridiculously talented playmaker with the ball in his hands, Styles knows how important he is to the Fighting Irish coaching staff. I’m confident in reporting that nobody is recruiting him harder than Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long. Will that pay off? I mean, everyone says he’s going to Ohio State, right? He’s an in-state kid with the Buckeyes beating down his door to land him. That could very well happen, but I still like Notre Dame at this point and I’m sticking with my 247Sports Crystal Ball pick for the Fighting Irish.
Looking like board got smaller today, OSU and Michigan appear to have landed or lead for some ND targets such as Ransom, Moran, Henning, and Melton. Add to it the likely silents of Watts, Nixon, Bartleson, or Offord Recruiting just got boring
OMS is going to be fun. He's gonna come down hill and just wreck someone at some point and I'll be so excited. Also What does this mean?
It’s beyond awful, only thing worse is Power Hour Pissed I used to like the old recruiting update from Blue and Gold, pod like a champion is just bad. No info, no personality, no nothing Power Hour should end, fuck that show
I listen to them all while i work out throughout the week. Football/team knowledge (like practice reports scheme etc) is BGI. General information about the program, II crushes it Those guys have some major connections inside the gug. ISD is meh - but does have the best recruiting podcast (purely recruiting, player evals are meh). One foot down is fine you won’t learn anything inside but they do talk about Nd stuff in general and have some interesting conversations. Sbt has the best interviews every couple of weeks. All are on Spotify free if you search Nd football.
One foot down is awful, I enjoy blue and gold although driskell talks too much and Lou is fucking annoying with how he talks sooo slooowwly...buuut theen. In ninetteeennn eightyy thhhreee
Ofd has grown on me but it’s really a Nd themed podcast which regurgitates what they have read/heard on other sites. I enjoy it when they are having stupid debates like planting navy etc.
We might not be talking about the same pod, it was one guy the last time I listened and it was bad. He was trying to laugh at his own jokes,
Realizing I may need to expand my podcast horizons as I write all this but that is the mid-end of the week pod. There is a group one earlier that is better
Pod like a champion would be a lot better if they had Driskell on to talk about strengths and weaknesses of the players.
He is really good imo, his strength is that he has absolutely nothing else going on in his life. He could talk Nd football all day
It really is, he is a preacher. Dude rambles and people gather around. How can you talk about the WRs at Nd for 75 minutes
you shouldnt want to have a conversation with him but as long as he can just ramble he is actually quite informative and he does know football. Its not like Mike Frank where no matter the question his answer is we need to run the ball more
The show has no redeeming qualities and even Driskell couldn’t save it. I have no clue who could listen to Holland speak and say to themselves it was a good idea to pay him any amount of money to talk anywhere.
to be fair, the podcast is a tiny part of his job - dude got paid because of his hustle and all the content he brings...they went up 30 level overnight when they brought him on board and they can now actually compete with 247 but yes, dude is awful on the podcast but amazingly, it's still better than Amateur Hour with McKinney and Bodden
yeah but the commitment podcasts are gone and those were really all i cared about from the recruiting side
