Update, it's going to be a long day, Elko is amazing, and we need to run triple option with the most lethal passing attack ever until Wimbush and the receivers wake the fuck up. Also It's amazing how much harder our guys hit when they aren't being BVG'd
It's just not a sexy team to look at. Nd should probably run the triple option all game with wimbush at qb
11/27 96 yards passing. Oy My completely original thought is we should run the triple option. Don't listen to anyone else, that is my thought and my thought alone
well to be totally honest i think ND should include option aspects but becoming a true option attack is a waste of a lot of talent. Is it just me or does noone get what the fuck BC was doing with holding Landry back that much
I was joking, but yeah, option aspects would be cool. Hell use Mack and Adams as wings and Dex behind Wimbush every once in a while and really fuck with minds. that would be a nasty combo. I don;t really want a true triple option, we'd blow goats trying to do that. And I have no idea... Keeping him healthy for the NFL? We pretty well nullified him late but he is streets ahead as their best player.
Yeah I was joking, don't want to run the triple option but Nd is going to have to run wimbush a lot to win. Passing it more than 25/30 times a game means a loss. Wimbush is really not accurate, It will probably get better but he doesn't seem to have any touch.
I would like to see 2 of Jones, Adams and Dexter on the field at the same time. Have one motion on a jet sweep.
Don't understand how Dexter isn't on the field more. Or how Sanders doesn't get worked into the offense more. But we ran for 500 yards and covered the spread. I'm happy.
Wow. I thought Wimbush looked bad passing. Check out Stanford's Chryst stat line against SDSU. 9/20 72yds 0TD 2INT He was also sacked 4 times. Also for those who didn't watch, the lights at the stadium went out during the game winning drove in the fourth quarter causing a 25 min delay. Good ol' Qualcomm!
Not sure what all the "insiders" were saying when they would say that Wimbush had a bigger arm than Kizer in practice Lol IrishIllustrated
I think he can sling it further, but his touch is not there at all. He makes the same throw every time.
This would be so fitting if we played army this year. Knute Rockne: Coach, let us use the forward pass, I know it'll work. Notre Dame Coach Harper: I'm not so sure. We've never seen it in a game. Knute Rockne: Neither has the Army, what can we lose?
I think at times he has shown some touch. His throw to Smythe yesterday was a touch pass. Just not enough. Also I don't think a receiver has made a great catch all year
He hits the hole faster than any running back we have, but I can't complain too much. Josh Adams needs to be used as much as possible, I love tony jones too. Maybe Nd needs to take away a wr and put one more rb on the field. Play your best players
Receivers need to step up. Wimbush hasn't been terribly accurate, but he has gotten zero help from his WRs. That includes ESB, who I expect the most from as our #1.
And not only are they awful at catching but their blocking is also awful, this unit needs to step up big time.
We can't throw a wr screen to save our life and with the read option It should be money for at least 3/5 times a game. And the fake screen too, but canteen dropped that against georgia
Randomly just rewatched eifert's highlights...how was the bc td good and that catch at 0:20 not good?
Having been to the game at BC and actually seeing plays develop, this couldn't be further from the truth. He had guys running wide open all day yesterday. He was either late to recognize them, late to finally release the ball, or flat out didn't recognize them. I couldn't believe how poor his downfield vision was, as well as how slow his decision making was. Beyond that, when he actually did throw the ball, he'd miss wildly or theyd drop it. The whole thing is bad. But it's certainly not just on the WRs. I thought it was before Saturday. Saturday was scary though.
Wimbush has more rushing yards and rushing TDs than Lamar Jackson on less carries...Josh Adams 5th in the country in yards
May we never throw another flat bubble screen. Our WRs and TEs never block well enough. Ever. That play needs to be taken out of the damn rotation.
Rewatching the game and Griese just declared with an air of authority that Dru Tranquil was I'm fact a walk-in who had to "work his way up" on the team. Outside of his horrible announcing, he seems content just to make shit up. Put in some effort, son!
It's probably just the contrast from having an NBC team that only covers ND, but it really felt to me like those guys just showed up at the stadium that morning and asked who was playing.
