I forgot who it was but ND had a USC guy for like 8 yard loss and it turned into a 3 yard gain. I almost threw my pizza cutter through the TV. Just atrocious tackling all game long

Yep, and USC clearly tried to attack the deep middle in the second half. We played the best offensive skill players we faced all year and missed some big tackles. That was the difference between a good and great performance. Could be worse.
The schemes were there but you are correct, when they had a chance to limit a play to 3 years they'd get 5-6. USC got extra yards after initial contact almost every play, which made it harder to ND to be aggressive when you are looking at 3rd and 3 and not 3rd and 7. I am still baffled at how they didn't find a way to contain London, but he got a bunch of junk yards. Like you said, could be worse
I’m also still marveling at his touchdown(s) from last night he was great, but they did what they needed to do (with some help from slovis who has regressed considerably since we saw him last). Defense definitely needs to continue to play better than they did, but I’ll take it
It’s insane they’ve been so mediocre for so long. Get a good coach in there and they’re competing for playoff spots within 2-3 years
they should hire clay Helton, the guy is a oline coach first and a very good guy that will keep their program clean
