Chip Long was my 5th grade reading partner when I was in kindergarten. I'll call him up real quick and see what he's thinking.
Interesting note I just heard on XM. Neuheisel secretly promoted Lea to DC at UCLA when he was there because the sitting DC was on his way out. He thinks he is a star. So good news is he has called a D before, that was a concern of mine.
He’s already behind two true freshman and will likely be behind two more again this year. Not to mention Ewell coming out of his redshirt year. I don’t see him playing much at all unless he makes a huge unforeseen leap.
First good news in a little bit. Good for Lea to have some high end talent back with a lot of experience
Those a big wins, would've liked to have all 4 come back but I think arguably the two most important players return For ND to have any chance next year with that schedule it needs a legit top 20 defense. They are on their way with the depth returning
So Long has to run off to Bama now right? Thee is like 0 chance we get several good news items in a row.
We are going to have good leadership on all three levels on defense and a good chunk of nfl talent. Really excited to see the secondary wth a more athletic rover and Gilman in the backend.
Seeing that video reminds me of the fact we have 4 CBs who played a lot returning. Crazy enough I feel like Vaughn has the most potential at the position. It seemed in spring and summer he was playing well in the videos we saw too. Hope he doesn't fizzle out.
It's easy to see a good defense next year with the returning players... On offense, I feel like nothing is certain. The talent is there to be successful in every position but everything is a question mark.
I did a random depth chart on offense a while ago but don't remember if I did because I felt the D players coming back was a big deal. Drop End-D.Hayes-Okwara SDE-J.Hayes-Kareem DT Tagovailoa-Amosa-Amedola/MDT NG Tillery-Hinish/Ewell Buck Tranquil-Lamb Mike Coney-Jones Rover Bilal-Simon CB Love-Watkins/Vaughn CB Crawford-Pride/Bracy/Griffith FS Gilman-Coleman/Griffith/Robertson BS Genmark-heath- Elliott/Allen Feel like D could be special. Questions to me are..... Safety is wide open could see any of those 7 above starting. Still no top end athletes besides the frosh IMO. But no idea who starts. I feel they will be better regardless when you consider the competition. Rover is also very intriguing. Do you keep Tranquil there or move him inside where he's never played (but will have to play at next level) and if you do move him is it Bilals time or will the young guys Simon and Owusu pass him up? Also could see Genmark Heath move to that spot. Is D Hayes ready to step up and be a star
One thing that drives me nuts about this team coached by kelly, Nd can never beat Stanford with conviction. No matter how bad they are, it’s always a dog fight at home and never a win on the road. Ridiculous, they are the opposite of MSU for Nd and they play the exact same style of football.
I thought the guy was good as gone. Good news. More depth up front. I feel like you can never have enough good players inside.
i googled this after i saw the news because i was certain they had announced he was gone. and yeah, this is the first result still glad he's back
same here, but really curious as to how the numbers are going to work out. Really gonna have to have a few more transfers it looks like.
to add to my logic, were at 89 now and this is already assuming that bonner is back but cage is done (which well could be)
Local guys (out anyone that comes into town for a game), the new bbq spot Fat Cap opened today. It's on 933 in Roseland
