Big day tomorrow. Bball at noon. Have to beat NC state with their lame duck coach of we want any chance of finishing in the top 4 or even win the acc. Followed up immediately with lax first game of the year on ESPNU at 2. Play gtown at cowboys practice facility. Not as talented as last year probably, but still ranked #4 to start the year
Its beautiful- I was just there in October But lets be real not exactly a place you'd expect to be pumping out near 5 star OL
That and the free podcasts- I've been just listening to those from Irish Illustrated and Blue and Gold- they literally give away all of their pay info for free. I've just been listening to them lately as I drive or as I do cardio at the gym
ow, i fully agree. It takes some getting used to it but combining timing with the tendencies of some guys and it gives you a pretty good read. If Wiltfong and the school that competes most with ND both give a kid a cb to ND you have a damn good shot of something happening
It's like a market watch. It's not a 100% accurate prediction, but you get a good idea where the wind is blowing. I definitely pay attention to Wiltfong's CBs.
Can you imagine how the 5'8" 145 lb. safety for Boyne City feels when he is being asked to cover a TE that is a high major offensive line recruit? Is there a more helpless feeling?
Benton Harbor beat TC West last year. we noted the kid. Never would have guessed he'd be a 4*. He was a decent tight end but the speed of BH gave him trouble. He was really athletic, Throw 50 pounds on him and I could certainly see a really good OT.
Lenzy would be a HUGE get for this class both for his speed and versatility. If we strike out on Griffith, we can just move Lenzy over there. If we miss on Amon St Brown, he can go to WR Landing Ryan Hayes and Dirksen would pretty much wrap up OL recruiting this cycle...i have a pretty hard time seeing unless landing any of the highly ranked guys but this would be a pretty fantastic haul considering what we've brought in Hayes is ranked pretty high though (top 100 on some sites) and Dirksen and Mabry whould be getting bumps as well
Summary of Coach D's breakdown on Micah Jones Spoiler PROSPECT SUMMARY Jones has not been overly productive at Warren Township, but that is more of a byproduct of his high school offense than it does his skill set. The skills are there for him to develop into a top-notch pass catcher at the collegiate level. When put in competitive situations at camps, Jones has been able to show off his skills. He’s a competitive kid whose best football is certainly ahead of him. Jones has all the skills coaches want in a wide receiver. He’s got elite size, he has elite ball skills, he has a lot of room to develop physically and he is a well-schooled player but still has a lot of room for improvement. Jones is far from a finished product, which has to be exciting for the Notre Dame coaches. In many ways his game reminds me of former Notre Dame wide receiver Maurice Stovall, who caught 69 passes for 1,149 yards and 11 touchdowns in his senior season despite lacking elite speed. The tools are all there, some of them just haven’t been tapped into yet, which is why he has a five-star upside grade. If he maxes out his game, Jones could be a special player down the road. I heard the original plan was to commit at Junior day but he was talked into taking another visit and out of respect for that individual that arranged the visit he held back on his commitment.
Griffith has been to ND at least half a dozen times...most recently for a game last season and Irish Invasion the last 2 summers
#1 DB target and absolute must get being he's from Chicago. Sampson seems to think he is on commit watch this weekend And we can all REJOICE as everyone seems to be a huge fan of this kid Steve Wiltfong Steve Wiltfong (61624) 78 months PM UserFollow User 11 hours ago via Mobile 11 hours ago Reply Quote 29 Just talked to a source and unless Braden Lenzey has a significant change of heart, he will be Irish soon.
Lenzy being this comfortable this early to leave the West Coast makes more sense now that I know his dad is a Purdue grade from Canton, Ohio
http://www.northjersey.com/story/sp.../17/scoops-football-toal-retirement/98034994/ Don Bosco Prep head coach- father of famous ND recruit Brian Toal I believe
They probably would have best case made a crappy bowl and done ok. The disaster of last season killed last year's class, but best case scenario the staff shakeup fixed what ails the program better than what might have resulted from a mediocre year. Or maybe the recruiting difference is they made sure that Fertita has a closet full of cash and an unlocked door at all times i dont know.
if we add lenzy, mustipher, st brown and griffith we'd already have the same class ranking as last year with half the class still to go
I remember when Texas was really good, and they would just invite the top 30 kids from Texas to their campus the weekend after signing day, and they'd get 20 commits. Not that this is the equivalent, but it's kinda fun.
Supposedly we trail for st brown. The hope is his dad likes the new strength program enough to change that.
He can't resist the momentum of Tommy Rees signing. You guys realize all this happened after Tommy has came back to rescue the Irish.
Some of his famous recruiting pitches: "I couldn't outrun a taxi driver and still started at Notre Dame. Why wouldn't you start on day one?" "Kick a cop, no problem...just don't wrestle them like Bulter did."
This is where harbaugh or someone would hire his dad into the program. Why has this not happened yet?
Scared to death, I hate noon road games. Thankfully NC State is a dumpster fire so if we can get up early we should be able to break them.
I just worry that they get out to a hot start, and we can't recover like we did against bc on Tuesday
This is the worst game broadcast I've ever sat through. Jesus fucking Christ. He was fired we get it! I can imagine even NC state fans (if they're watching) want to sit through this
This is where we've started to slump when up big, but so far so good. Hopefully we keep it double digits
