I don’t even know who’s out there that would extend the bench. I think we’ve reached the limit, unfortunately. They didn’t run into issues tonight but I could see them running into fatigue in January/Feb.
Skimming Stanford/duke/nw may be enough. Bowen has filled out his paperwork to enroll early at ou btw. I don’t really care where anyone goes I am more dumbfounded by the beat and their refusal to call it like it is.
It can be a two way street with Northwestern and Stanford. They send up their good players and we send down 5th years and depth chart casualties
Meh, there are inklings out there about both Tyree and Diggs potentially jumping right now. No idea how substantial either of those is, but we may be in position to take a RB still.
If every rumor is posted here this place is going to be burnt out by the new year. Feels like the soccer transfer windows, which is exhausting, and roughly 1% of rumors come to fruition.
We can simply leave the conversation as “this shit is happening again and let’s just let it play out” while also coming to terms with the fact the rumors are happening again. You can call these things out without freaking out about them.
I thought we all realized when he came back last year, there would be Diggs rumors every year til he’s gone? It would be a bummer to lose him and a bit of a head scratcher for the kid, but we’d be fine. The young LBs are the only real transfer possibilities that freak me out (other than the boogey man of Morrrison getting like a $2m offer from Oregon)
Number one reason to join a conference: now that we have no games left shitposting in here just resumes as if it were gameday. Maybe if there were a conference championship game that still impacts our livelihood that would be delayed an extra week
This looks like it’s happening. Kid fucked up fisher in that game and is from Indiana so I’m on board
That's a pretty strong start to our portal haul this year, if true. Obviously, for ND, the trade off of coming vs. going is going to have to be judged as a quality versus quantity approach, so reaching this level on the incoming prospects could go a long way.
Singer/Loy/Pete have all said one to watch. Given the number of eligible guys out there I don’t think it’s a coincidence.
just watched his film...he is faasst i think Lyons was a better WR but this kid is similar in a lot of ways and is a much better fit for ND
someone posted on the 4HL a few weeks ago that it is not a secret on ND's campus that Dasan would be joining his dad at ND...not sure how much to believe the rumor though
Man everyone is saying nd is processing people as part of freeing up space for huge classes and some portal. Never thought I would see the day. I hope they figured out a way to get them degrees before they leave
Glad to see it finally happening, because the reality was always that it’s inevitable. Tough to see us constantly be late adopters to this stuff. While we’re still acting sanctimonious and then finally figure out the major competitive advantage from two years ago, there are other programs being proactive about taking advantage of next year’s problem. To some degree, that will always be the case at ND. But at least some shift in philosophy would be nice. Just add some more urgency to it all.
Well. Hypothetical but if kell was here I don’t know if nil would be up and running or the portal process and we would get absolutely destroyed for an off-season before there were changes.
Loy says that ND will get ready to take the next step in the Bowen recruitment after seeing how things go this weekend on their in home visit
And coach d triples down on don’t listen to anyone it’s fine. good news is there is now no way someone isn’t getting thrashed by a fan base
By the way. Finished that kizer interview. Very good listen - this place is just different. He wanted a finance internship so sent emails out to all of the nd ceos (by guessing their email) and got ge capital to build an internship program for athletes. also kelly is a bum the 2016 discussion is about what was expected.
Happy one year mf anniversary. Felt like weeks between the leaving and hiring - it was like 48 hours.
Hasn't been any discussion on the IU board yet but the program seems on thr brink of a pretty big overhaul so it wouldn't surprise me if he left. That said, I wouldn't guarantee it would be to ND though
I have a long commute now so listened to the Coach D mailbag for the first time last night He answered a question about "would you rather have Bowen or Joseph starting next year?" like we had the option of either and not even considering Bowen wouldn’t come. He seemed to really not like Joseph
I get the sense most of the beat writers are kinda over Joseph. Lots of talk without a ton of production. I really hope he comes back, both for his sake and the team's
