Good to hear. He was a GA in 15-16 then went to Chicago with Hiestand and was there until this past season when he joined us. I think his problem this year was more scheme and lack of talent, but I’m hoping as a GA he was involved with some of the development of Martin, Nelson, McGlinchey, and I know I’m forgetting a couple more
His system takes a little time. Even with 3 future day 1 picks and a 6th year senior this year it took Harry most of the season to get them going. biggest knocks with his scheme is short yardage for some reason they have had trouble but he know how to take long big kids and turn them into draft picks with the best. Insanely technical too
Understandable, OL play is very intricate and the smallest of details can be a huge thing. But it’s refreshing to hear how technical he is. Hiestand’s resume looks very solid so hopefully Raiola learned some things.
Hillman is a great pickup - great athlete that provides insurance at both Safety and WR and could be legit good at either
I’m very excited about the Hillman pickup. Big athlete who can play on either side of the ball. Looks like a natural safety or WR. Excellent in open space. Yes all day. MF’s recruiting is outstanding.
No one is getting their hopes up but it seems they are relentlessly on some big time committed kids too
Prister's film review Spoiler The players on the 2022 Churchland High School football team in Portsmouth, Va. followed the lead of multi-purpose stalwart Brandyn Hillman. Hillman paced the Truckers’ offense with 2,400 yards-plus total yards and 31 touchdowns from the quarterback position. But the 6-foot-1, 191-pounder with four-star athlete classification offers the ability to play several positions on both sides of the football. He verbally committed to the Irish Wednesday to become the 27th member of the Class of 2023. He chose the Irish over offers from USC, Oklahoma, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky and Miami as well as several mid-range ACC/Big 12/SEC programs. Hillman could be a running back or a wide receiver, but he led the Truckers from the quarterback position. He could grow into a Rover or apply his physical brand of football with athleticism from a safety position. Hillman gives the Irish multiple options with his big and outgoing personality playing a role in the full package he offers. Hillman is an exceptional athlete with quickness and strength. He’s in a hurry to get things done on the gridiron. He’s tough and physical. He plays with suddenness and “powerful speed.” As an offensive player, he has separation speed. He’s shot from a cannon. He gallops around the football field with a palpable glee. He leaps over potential tacklers because the spirit strikes him. “I try to predetermine what I’m going to do to keep the game electrifying,” said Hillman in a burst of post-game energy. Churchill frequently let Hillman just take the snap and run. Once he determined he would keep the football, it was difficult to prevent him from achieving his intentions. But it’s on defense that Irish Illustrated believes Hillman can have the greatest impact at Notre Dame. He plays with natural aggression and physicality. He was a wrecking ball on the back end of the Truckers defense, ranging from sideline-to-sideline to make plays. He is a Point A to Point B missile. Presently at less than 200 pounds, he could be an effective in-the-box strong safety or grow into an outside linebacker/Rover-type spot for the Irish. It would be great to have that physicality closer to the line of scrimmage, too. Hillman plays light on his feet defensively. He plays with a search and destroy mentality. He shows block-destruction ability and edge run support. He has some pretty natural backpedal and break-on-the-football skills for one relatively new to secondary play. He even matched up with wide receivers in press coverage on occasion. 1COMMENTS Hillman brings spirit and optimism to the field. He has some of the physical characteristics that former Irish great Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah – also a bit undersized for the Rover spot when he arrived -- brought to the field. Hillman’s biggest problem defensively may be understanding his role as 1/11 of the defense because he wants to make every play. The learning curve on the collegiate level may take some time. It did for Owusu-Koramoah. This is a guy who inspires optimism on the football field with a captain’s leadership and mentality that should be infectious in the Notre Dame camp. It’s hard not to get excited about Hillman when one sees his passion for the game. He has the physical and athletic tools to back it up. Now it’s a matter of finding the best position fit.
Michigan transfer Erick All https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sp...all-of-fairfield-has-3-finalists/69707302007/ "I'm taking an official this weekend with Cade (McNamara) at Iowa," All said. "I'm trying to decide where I'm going to go to next weekend, Washington or Notre Dame."
Coach d says the 23 class is set unless they get an unlikely flip or lose kids (who apparently are getting huge nil offers)
Jeez, I remember exactly where I was at the time of this game, listening on SiriusXM driving to a wedding 5 hours away. Feels like it was just yesterday and we had the whole span of Mayer's career in that time between then and now, almost had an existential crisis thinking about that from a time perspective
1) Coach D isn't the ND recruiting office, even if he pretends to be 2) ND hasn't offered and by all accounts the kid is going to Oregon
It’s his whole thing but slightly better than the rest of the beat who just don’t take a position on anything. “I really like x but they need to do y” good - I told you I really liked x Bad - I told you x needed to do y and that’s why they didn’t succeed.

I just bought my parents out of a house that we had that’s on an island an hour outside of Detroit and I decided to make it a bachelor pad. first step was getting an unnecessary 85” TV Don’t mind the mess, I’m just setting this place up
“Sorry honey I have to go to a house on a small island off the coast of *checks map* Detroit with my internet friends”
Tom Loy is handing out his Venmo for coffee money due to how hard his calling hs kids, talking to Tommy Rees, and writing shifting message board posts job is
Where is all the fireworks we were promised this week? Honestly though what are some guys we know ND is linked to in portal so far? DL Fiske WR Cephas WR Johnson Stanford DE Michigan TE apperantly QBs Card/maybe Leary
One of these days we’ll stop “laughing with” Mike Leach because he sends to be a pretty shitty person. and to be clear, I’m not saying that’s what you’re doing. Just in general
