also a bunch of teams who were on the winning ends of those games who arent ranked yet who sure as hell will. Would be shocked to see TCU, UCLA or Clanga unranked
Ah shit, i thought that maybe you had inside info that del was going to be close to that wide receiver room.
Thanks spliff. Maybe you should spend less time having a life and more time reading this board. Jeez.
Gold Standard Spoiler Latest on Peyton Bowen *** I’d like to think of myself as an experienced recruiting reporter as I’ve been in the industry for nearly 10 years, but I’ve never covered a recruitment quite like Bowen’s. The long story short on Bowen’s recruitment is essentially the same as what I’ve been reporting for months — every source you talk to seems convinced on which school Bowen will choose, but there are still differing opinions. Notre Dame sources feel confident. Irish head coach Marcus Freeman and safeties coach Chris O’Leary were in Denton Friday and watched the first half of Bowen’s game, and I’m told that they’re feeling better than ever with their chances to hold onto Bowen. But on the other hand, Oklahoma still feels very confident that they’ll eventually pull off the flip. I haven’t been able to learn what the Texas A&M side feels, but I’m sure they still have optimism, too. Heck, some sources tell me that those inside the Guyer football program feel that Bowen will end up sticking with the Irish, but then another source tells me those same folks feel the opposite. I really don’t know what to believe. *** I don’t believe anyone who says that Bowen’s final decision has been made. One source I very much trust told me that Bowen is talking as if Notre Dame will be his ultimate choice. But again, it’s still up in the air, and personally, I don’t view him as a committed player. This is a total battle between the three schools. One day I believe he’s going to stick with Notre Dame; the next I believe he’ll flip. I don’t have a prediction on what he’ll end up doing. *** Notre Dame didn’t get off to a good start to the season falling against Ohio State and Marshall but take a look at what’s going on at Oklahoma. The Sooners beat a couple of Group of Five teams to start the season and beat a bad Nebraska team but have dropped their last two games to Kansas State and TCU, the latter of which was a 55-24 beatdown. Texas A&M has a 3-2 record as well, including a loss to Appalachian State. While I don’t believe these on the field results will be a notable factor in Bowen’s decision, it’s still worth noting that the three schools involved the most for him all haven’t been great this season. It’s not just Notre Dame that has struggled, and if the Irish could go on a run of wins in October, it could help swing more momentum in their favor. *** Here are a couple of Bowen’s notable quotes from our interview Friday. I’ll write up the full article in the next 24 hours or so. On official visits, acknowledging ND’s official visit policy with committed recruits: “Yeah I’m trying to stay away from the officials. If there’s a real reason that I need to take an official, then that’s going to be different. But with OU and A&M, I can easily drive there, so it’s not that big of a deal to do an official. I haven’t had the need to [take an official].” On why he’s committed and keeping options open: “I’m committed to Notre Dame, but I don’t want to shut down my recruitment and something big time could happen. I don’t want to shut it down and then something happens and I’m stuck.” On when he’ll make his final choice: “It could be (any time). The timeline is all up in there. I don’t want to lead anyone on.” Update on the Notre Dame running back board *** Last Thursday in a Lucky Charms article, I wrote that I felt St. Louis Christian Brothers’ Jeremiyah Love, the No. 63 overall player and No. 5 running back per the 2023 On3 Consensus, was trending away from the Irish. We’ve been in the stretch run of his recruitment as he’s choosing between Notre Dame and Texas A&M. Things can swing one way in a recruitment just to swing back the other way as a decision gets closer. And it’s our understanding that Texas A&M started to trend for him last week. However, we’re really liking where the Fighting Irish are at now after the staff had continued conversations with him. We’ll see if anything else changes between now and when he makes a commitment, which we do believe will take place in the next 2-3 weeks. He is expected to unofficially visit Notre Dame for the Stanford game Oct. 15, which is a positive as well. Follow the visits. *** Notre Dame offered Charlotte (N.C.) Christian’s Kyron Jones, a three-star prospect and No. 33 running back per On3, when Irish sources briefly lost optimism with Love. We were also told that Notre Dame was working on scheduling an official visit with Jones for the Stanford game as well. However, Jones committed to N.C. State on Saturday afternoon. The Irish hoped they weren’t too late to get into the game, but they were. *** The offer to Jones was a way for Notre Dame to cover itself not only because of Love leaning towards Texas A&M for a moment, but I also believe it’s because Lake Stevens (Wash.) High’s Jayden Limar, an Irish commit who ranks as the No. 290 overall recruit and No. 18 running back per the 2023 On3 Consensus, hasn’t completely shut down his recruitment. He’s been to Washington already and is expected to visit Oregon and Arizona as well, but in our talks with folks close to Limar, we’re told he’s solid with the Irish. But the situation is still something to monitor. *** So who will Notre Dame sign at running back? The projection currently would be Love and Limar, plus Derby (Kan.) High’s Dylan Edwards, the No. 221 overall prospect and No. 12 running back according to the 2023 On3 Consensus. As we’ve said before, Edwards is more of an offensive weapon who can play all over the offense for the Irish. I am also liking Notre Dame to land Portsmouth (Va.) Churchland athlete Brandyn Hillman, who my sources believe would likely play on the offensive side of the ball — potentially at running back — but he could be a defensive back. A prediction could be logged in the next 48 hours.
Likely to see some player movement there. Mickey and Morrison already jumped Barnes, Tucker and Riley. Think you see either Barnes or Riley get moved to safety.
At this point I wish the Bears would get a new center so they won't pin all of their failures on Mustipher. It's the fault of the people that put the Bears in a position to rely upon an undrafted free agent at center, not Sam's.
Love officially getting close to heartbreak territory if he's not in the class and just takes the TAMU bag after a bunch of late visits to ND
no offense but I wouldn’t think twice about sacrificing one of you guys if it meant Wingo finds his way to South Bend maybe not one of good guys like Aero but I wouldn’t hesitate to knife someone shitty like Druce for an elite perimeter talent
That might get us 5-9 grad transfer WR who only runs a 4.7, but plays with heart. And you know damned well any players attributed to Chef have to be white.
I don’t need a recruiting win to want to beat you to death, your normal posting is more than enough reason.
At this point, I'm expecting to see an edit from the ND recruiting office with the St. Louis arch painted gold.
is he still injured? they have a bye week the week after, but would be awesome if he were in town that weekend
He's performing in my home town at the end of the month and I really want to go sit front row in t -shirt with Dump's face on it or something
Notre Dame told me I can’t take official visits elsewhere, so I’ll just take unlimited unofficial visits to the two schools within driving distance is exactly the spirit of what Marcus Freeman was trying to achieve by making that rule, I’m sure.
