Loy thing seems fishy, ND can admit anyone they want as long as they qualify under NCAA standards or whatever, that says nothing of ND's unique shit.
Can’t blame him, but definitely feels like something that was decided in like December given how quick this was lol
They made it sound very much like the ball is in Shrewsberry’s court, ND really liked him, if he likes ND he’s the guy, there was some worry their late season success might keep him at PSU though. A&M needs to help us out Thursday.
He played at Cathedral and then Hanover which is some other weirdo religion affiliation. Not that it matters but was curious.
Not that this is an end all be all but looks like Holtmann is actively recruiting the portal for OSU today, would be shitty to turn around and take another job.
It is about as dark around these parts as I can remember. Seems like just blow after blow for the last few months.
I just vehemently disagree with the practice of not allowing media to watch practices. We’re not dealing with state secrets here. Media watching practice doesn’t win or lose games, particularly in the spring. But it’s not a decision that’s unique to ND so like you said, I “get” It. Just don’t agree with it
It’s tough to get excited about anything when the top decision makers have made it brutally clear they don’t give a shit about success.
getting 1 full practice in the middle of spring is a BIG win...they got absolutely nothing the previous 2 years so I'd take the win...that's also a big recruiting day
Yea hard to look at the landscape of college football and see how northern teams in general are going to compete. At least back in the day you knew some of the programs stretching the rules would eventually get sanctioned and regress. Way too much money involved and nd is old tech that is fine being competitive and still making a ton of money. probably need new blood top to bottom if it’s going to be interesting again like it was. I may just be getting old and coming up on 25 years as a fan where it’s harder every year to point to things that will help that aren’t changing the core tenants of nd.
"It's good to be in something from the ground floor. I came too late for that and I know. But lately, I'm getting the feeling that I came in at the end. The best is over." -Tony Soprano, Season 1, Episode 1
ND football is just one more thing the boomers are trying to ruin before they die out, millennials and Zoomers will save it, we already have sleeper agents on staff.
It's been a lot of bullshit but if the DL and LB's can be on the good side of mediocre this team will be pretty damn good and should be a lot of fun to watch.
Offensive personnel on paper is the best since...? If Hartman can be close to as productive as he was at WF, I'm not sure if there's a better offense (on paper) since the BQ days.
that Deshone Kizer offense in 2015 with Will Fuller was pretty darn good but I think this offense will be better if the WRs can step up and I think they will much much better QB play i'm also excited to see what Estime looks like with a serious passing threat at QB and another year under his belt
Clausen, Tate, Floyd, Rudolph year was better at skill positions, but the line this year is hopefully the difference maker
Clausen, Floyd, Tate, Eifert, Rudolph, Karama, Allen, Gray, Hughes From a skill position, damn. The linen and coaching was lol 2009
Probably listened to the II pod, those 2, Shrewsberry, and 4th I don't remember (the guy at Charleston?) are who they discussed.
Watching this thread morph from happy go lucky fans to an NDNation type of apathy makes me wonder if this is just the natural life cycle of being an ND fan. It’s not too late dudes.
nah, being unhappy is just a part of being a cfb fan. What fanbase is generally happy the last decade? Bama, Clemson, UGA and cincinnati? Not much more than that right?
That’s more of the idea that only teams that win or come up can be happy. Maybe it’s expectations. ND had its best run since the late 80s early 90s, so maybe it comes with the benefit or detriment of expectations. In my college football lifetime there have been 6 coaching changes: Faust Holtz Davie Weis Kelly Freeman After year one, this is the most enthusiastic I’ve felt after one season. Maybe I’m just an optimist, but I feel like a lot of schools are happier about their plight because they are aware of who they are.
ow I fully think we are aware we are unreasonable, its just better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all
After hastily canceling IB and 247 after Marshall, my 247 account has finally expired. I expect this will only bring me more happiness and less unnecessary refreshing in the middle of my day.
