I think overall my favorite part of the new athletic complex is that it came relatively quick after BK left. Fuck em
You all should go listen to Sampson on the independent. They spend half the show basically saying nd is all in on football and Marcus freeman across the board. Says Marcus in particular has the full support of the admin in a way Kelly never could have.
It’s interesting to see an OL getting absolutely manhandled but we can still score because our playcaller isn’t a preschool coach
Lot of talent across the team On the playoffs or bust squad All QBs look good too, feels like we'll be in good shape for the future
I think all 4 stay through the season. Leonard and Carr no chance to transfer. Angeli most likely to play if / when Leonard gets hurt. Minchey is progressed enough he has a shot to grab QB2 and I don’t think he’s for sure behind Carr going forward. He probably wouldn’t be able to transfer into a desirable starting position this fall, so why not play it out 8 more months
This qb dilemma sucks, I long for the days when nd had to make a choice between Drew pyne and Tyler Buchner. back then there was not a good or bad decision to make, it was all equal. Now I am scared minchey will transfer and ball. :) it’s where nd should always be, it’s incredible that nd got into such a qb hell for so long there should always be at least two very good qbs on the roster, every year. No matter how
lol I'm sure they showed it but it was interesting to see Leonard without a brace on "running" the plays behind the offense. Hope he's good because he seems to be locked in.
Leonard continues to be the absolute largest dweeb But whatever, I hope he leads us to the promised land
That's because our members always feel the need to run to general threads with ND content rather than sharing with their ND brethren first.
Also this freshman class looks like it’s the best ND class of modern times- Just an outstanding group of cruits
Another example of why for now we should trust this staff with evals. The coaches liked this group more than the for profit websites.
Wow, I was expecting to get crushed with some news about minchey transferring but you found a way to cut me even deeper
Watching the game and this team looks pretty good. Lots of playmakers on both sides of the ball. Good size and speed. Hopefully portents good things to come.
I think the biggest thing that stood out to me aside from the QBs is how much better the depth is on the roster now. Previous Blue/Gold Games you could basically turn the game off after the first half assuming you turned it on to begin with but the roster has just gotten way deeper. There were guys on the 3rd or 4th string showing flashes in the second half. Kelly generally had like a 12ish team recruiting ranking every year and under Freeman it has gone to 8-9 range. I think they are identifying prospects better overall but just going from 12 to 8 is adding like an extra 3-5 four stars a year to the roster and it is showing with the talent in year three, turns out having like 15ish extra high end talent makes everyone look better
Another thing, the freshman showed the fuck out. Carr, Aneyas Willams, Larsen, Gilbert, Young, KVA all made plays. The class was ranked 9ish like I said in the post above but they took a lot of high end guys for the first time in awhile. I think by on3's consensus they had 5-6 top 100 prospects and when you look at where they got their three stars from it was like cornerbacks and I will trust Micken's evals at corners over some neckbeard at rivals or whatever, he did not settle on those guys, he wanted them. Not to go full sunshine pumping mode but I think the spring game was a super positive outcome and the incoming class is just really good. I assume something will bring me down to earth soon because it feels weird being positive
It is all relative. The reason the freshman looked so good is that our vets are mid. #typicalNDposter
I’m just worried about the Oline. But having Leonard at QB can mitigate some of the inevitable struggles
Yeah, if there was one weak link it definitely was that which is strange to say for an ND team recently
