Alright, let's not mope too hard here. We're on our way to putting together three straight top 10 classes and for years we've know we were a QB away from at least being competitive in the postseason. We're not OSU, Bama, or Georgia, but we're definitely in that tier right under that should expect a shot at "putting it all together" and competing for a title.

 

Love Dantes abilities. He's not the same type of guy Herbert is. I'd say he could be better in college though. His skills translate to college game really clean

I think it’s fair to say there’s a clear lack of alignment in values at play here. I wish him well but he and his family made it clear they wanted something beyond what ND was willing to give. I’m fine with that. The coaches made the right call.

Not getting Dante is fine, thats recruiting but the fact that it cost ND Vizzina or even Avery Johnson is what pisses me off

hey, i kinda like oregon, mainly because i thought dennis dixon was beyond awesome, dont make me hate yall for being all factually correct

 

i dont think the last part is true, i think that ship had already sailed at that point. I think we all agree he was getting paid everywhere, I do think there was a switch somewhere in his recruitment (prolly around that Nico deal) where he decided (and probably rightfully so) letting the amount of money he could get now could be life changing and optimizing that instead of just fit was a serious part of the equation. Im happy with Carr and whoever we are getting this or next cycle if carr reclassifies though, hope Moore does well, seems like a good kid

 

Granted, most won’t believe it considering the state of our recruiting class, but the very strong rumor out of ND is that we won’t and never will offer guaranteed money. Sure, we push the hell out of the exposure ND can provide for a kid once he’s here, but no specific monetary deals upfront. That pitch seems to be very strong for the lesser position group players since most of them aren’t getting guaranteed deals anyway, but it’s not competitive for top QBs these days. Not having a strong QB pedigree as it is also isn’t helping.

Whether or not Keon Keeley sticks will be interesting to watch because given his ranking and position, he will command large upfront bags.
