I understand that, I don’t see how it’s a good decision...if it’s the decision. I think Lenzy should be on the field some.
The last few years we have been very good on the first drive. They do a terrific job of scripting plays and it would be nice to not have to start on offense the first drive 0-7.
Agreed. It’s obviously not fool-proof though. Pretty sure we got the ball first vs both Clemson and Bama.
Guys, do we actually think Book is going to stay steady in the pocket long enough to throw deep balls to Lenzy even as a potential decoy play? He'd be throwing that ball OOB or stepping into a sack quicker then Lenzy can type "Beyond Frustrated." Passing game needs to be built around Kmet stretching the seams and opening up the quick timing routes that can open up to big plays. They ain't completing passes over 25 yards downfield, and UGA knows that.
From what I remember the first drive was one of the better drives against Clemson though. They got a few first downs and it went downhill from there.
Why can’t they just pound the ball, I mean, I don’t know...just run it and establish the run..then things open up. - mike frank
I am an Nd junkie and will listen to just about any podcast on the subject but I can’t make it through a power hour. It is just straight drivel
If he’s saying we should do that with our current personnel, he’s way off. If he’s saying Kelly should be able to build a program that does that consistently, he’s likely right.
Yeah, it’s tough to listen The first site I signed up with was irisheyes with mike frank on scout if I remember correctly and I liked a few posters. Also hated the rivals format. Nothing is better than right here. Except for when I get too drunk
The problem isn’t that our receivers can’t stretch the field (they can). The problem is that Book doesn’t have enough confidence in his arm or in the o-line to throw it deep.
I've been depressed all week thinking about this game, its just such a bad matchup on paper thats only gotten worse with the injuries Good luck and safe travels to anyone making the trip
So we did all believe that 5 wide was a mismatch too btw as the team was suspect against the pass and awesome against the run. Maybe this is similar. The team only has to focus on stopping the run schemewise and trust our dbs in the passing game
