I don't think BK was calling plays while Long was here. My fear is Rees will have a bad game or two and BK takes over
John Shannon was named the inaugural recipient of the Patrick Mannelly Award, given to the best long snapper in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Joe Burrow won the Heisman but Shannon won the Mannelly...who is to say which is more prestigious #longsnapperu
Gotta be a tough award to give out, I would have to think a good amount of snappers essentially have a 100% success rate but maybe there's a bunch of nuances I don't really understand.
For the uninitiated it may see subtle but look closer at tape like this and see there is a difference between a mere snap and a work of breathtaking beauty. Peitsch is an artist. The brush is the football, the canvas is between his legs. Exciting times ahead for ND football.
I’m not sure he actually announced he was coming back. He probably will come back, but I think the post he made was referred to playing in the bowl game, not coming back for another year.
I did not want to rain on people's parade in here (there are other ppl that are better equipped for that) but thought he was just talking about the upcoming game but there has been talk that he has been more receptive to coming back than previously thought
Yeah one of the beat writers talked with him and sensed that he and the team were open to him coming back. But it appears this tweet was just about getting one more game with this team
This thread is lively. Has to be the most boring recruiting cycle ever for ND. There has not been a new commitment since July 5th. I don't think ND flipped a single kid during the process or had anyone decommit. Pretty rare for either of those to occur during a recruiting cycle let alone both. Hope everyone has set aside their plans for tmrw for Ramon Henderson's announcement
Recruiting has changed so much. On one hand it's cool to get a strong class locked up well in advance. On the other, it leaves little room for excitement.
You won’t see me complain, excitement in recruiting when you follow nd means bad news 90% of the time.
Checks out. I think of the first 10 "big, fun, prolonged recruitments" I thought of off the top of my head from when I paid super close attention to recruiting, only 1 ended well lol Manti Te'o Seantrel Henderson Chris Galippo Arrelius Benn Martez Wilson Omar Hunter Demetris Robertson Eddie Vanderdoes Marvin Austin Josh Oglesby
Henderson at CB seems like a square peg in a round hole kind of fit, but he ran a 10.5 100 meters in HS so sign him up and figure out where to play him Wouldn't be surprised if he and Watts flipped positions
Yeah, nd won that one too. And max redfield. And both these dudes sucked. I was also so pumped for ishaq, seems like such a good dude. Perfect length and size for the rush olb in a 34 scheme...but that was it. Probably not his fault but he did not pan out
That’s 3 years of stats for Johnson His high school runs the ball a ton IIRC so he doesn’t have big time stats
he’s gonna get his ass kicked for like two years, we will all forget about him, then he’s gonna be a two year starter kid is outrageously big and quick
there is one thing to consider. This kid played club ball. He has probably been playing against fully grown men for a few years already. So he is used to playing against people bigger/stronger/faster
So in I've seen: Alexander Ehrensberger Drew Pyne Chris Tyree Jay Brunelle Xavier Watts Jordon Johnson Michael Mayer Kevin Baumann Michael Carmody Tosh Baker Rylie Mills Aidan Kaenaenaia (sp?) Clarence Lewis Caleb Offord Landon Bartleson Alex Peitsch Isaiah Pryor(grad transfer) So that means were waiting on: Jordan Bothelo And possibly Ramon Henderson edit: Almost everyone is in
yeah, i fucked up cuz of isaiah pryor. Thought i had my numbers but the grad transfer of course isnt part of the class size
only bothelo and henderson to wait for. Just for kicks im watching McMillen just to see if he already signs
Honestly the least emotional recruiting cycle ever. No flips either way. Not many commitments where we didnt know well ahead that they were coming
ow yeah. There needs to be some good news to not be emotional. I guess you could remove tyree and johnson and get 4-5 more top250 but not top 100 kinda kids to make it even more bland, yet solid
