And they get another $6m if they beat Penn State. I would be shocked if they continue to let Notre Dame get a full share in the future.
Great win in a marquee game? Notre Dame gets over the hump by winning a big one? No. The only reason Notre Dame beat Georgia was because of the transfer portal. Pawwwlll https://www.espn.com/college-footba...otre-dame-buoyed-transfers-knocks-georgia-cfp The article lead: NEW ORLEANS -- Notre Dame's 23-10 victory against Georgia in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Thursday might have been a 60-minute informercial on how to effectively use the transfer portal. Nearly a half-dozen transfers who joined the No. 7 Fighting Irish before the 2024 season helped them capture one of their biggest victories in decades against the No. 2 Bulldogs. It was Notre Dame's 13th win of the season, the most in program history, and it snapped an eight-game losing streak in BCS/New Year's Six bowl games. The Irish couldn’t have knocked off the Bulldogs without transfers . . . .
There is another one up implying the terrorist attack created a bizarre outcome. ESPN still schilling the sec.
Effectively, its a bet on ourselves that we will make the playoffs slightly more than 1 out of every 3 years
They’re not wrong, overall our staff has done a really good job using the portal to plug holes. Also makes a ton of sense for us to be an attractive destination for transfers. Kids who have been around and grown up a little, and realize that football is not forever and it could make the rest of their life a little easier if they have an ND degree.
Deuce Knight was at the game lol. I also wonder about what Peyton Bowen must be thinking watching all the DBs he would have been in the class with balling out for ND
I’m not sure he ever would have been a great safety. He’s not really playing at OU. Probably should have been a receiver. His film reminded me a lot of Max Redfield. Incredible athlete but not really a defensive mentality. Looked a lot better catching bombs from Jackson Arnold.
Only one transfer didn’t really make any plays yesterday. I believe Rod Heard even made a couple plays with Watts slowed up That means Kris Mitchell is going for 9 / 150 / 2 in the Orange Bowl
If the timing of us dropping out of all the potential portal QBs was synching with the fact that the 5 year rule could become likely…. Oh boy…
In a dream scenario It would be James Rendell faking a rugby punt from the 2 and running It all the way but that might be asking too much of his old legs
Of course they’re not wrong, but what is the point when Georgia took 11 transfers for 2024, other than to de-legitimize this win because ND signed a bunch of free agents to beat poor Georgia?
we are so used to this, the narratives are always to diminish whatever nd does. The game was not Even over yesterday and that little bald dude basically said that this was the worst georgia team and best nd team in a while. and I do not think it’s a conspiracy against nd, this is just the product that nd put out for a long long time. To change the perception you gotta win more and more of these games
One of the reasons our placekicking has struggled at times is because people move our goalposts so often.
You are getting it because you are now a threat, having beaten the SEC. If we both make it to the title, play a drinking game where you drink every time they mention our $20 million roster. You’ll be black out drunk by halftime.
That is a true freshman against Georgia. Side note, anybody is excited about the potential of Jeremiah Smith and Leonard Moore facing off?
i've been thinking about this matchup since the OSU/OR game...I'd love to see if Moore could play with Jeremiah like BenMo could play with Marvin Harrison (who was supposed to also be unstoppable in college)
I also saw a block from junior on thé kick return, he could have been undisciplined but he just did his job with purpose this team is so well coached 1:51 also Colzie blocking
i did so much screaming and yelling during the game yesterday and loved every min of the game once the Oben/Collins play happened, I looked over to my daughter and said the game was over - no way UGA was going to be able to score 13 points against this ND defense when they were playing like that I had ND beating UGA 24-13 and I think they will beat Penn St 28-17
Penn St is weird to me. I’ve never liked them at all, even when they were this bastion of college football, but I have never had a reason to not like them. Maybe I understood before others, but I’ve never cared for them and never will.
