Payne's better at and 1 situations. He's been our best back in recent years at quickly seeing and getting to narrow gaps and shooting through low with enough force to get what's needed. No dancing, hesitation, or getting stacked up high and short.
Payne looked like a completely different player in the spring before his knee blew up Give him a chance this year imo
Thought I read somewhere too that DMCs biological dad worked for Carroll back in the day too. Just to keep that crazy story going.
Recruiting has changed a lot. He was good at getting kids interested early then at the end they'd decommit and go elsewhere
ND is a unique school. I don't think he had the trouble recruiting to ND that he might have had at schools that are so similar to a dozen other big state schools with good football programs.
i think it was alford who recruited that folston, greg bryant(rip) class right? didnt work out but was the highest calibre rb class for ND i can remember
At this point if you can’t get him, the lure of Lubbock fucking Texas is too hard to resist, which is probably the first time in history this phrase has been uttered.
i was gonna make a david koresh or fertilizer plant explosion joke but somehow both of those were waco (keep in mind to me waco, lubbock and college station are effectively the same place even though i rationally know lubbock is in the middle of nowhere, even by texas standards
the problem I see with him and Maybe i am using a bad example when I compare this to recruiting but if the guy can’t make up his mind in so much time he will probably jump ship at the first other opportunity he gets and that is a very dangerous thing with a gm that wants to have control over your whole class. at this point i will be happy if he comes but I wonder if a less flashy name with a good team around him/her would be better. Someone you know will stay with the program for a long time
College Station, as I have mentioned, has a law where you can only get one drink at a time and you need two people to buy a pitcher. It’s two hours from Houston but it might as well be another country.
so im (maybe wrongfully) assuming he is moving a family across country as well, think you dont do that too easy
On one hand, following this Blanchard fellow is exhausting. On the other, he seems to be the type of person you want negotiating on behalf of NDs NIL efforts.
this is where I'm at - moving 5 kids and a wife to SB, Indiana is no small thing...I'm old and soon to be an empty nester and I'm scared to move to a different house, much less a different city with kids and a new job
yeah, I said that yesterday I think. We see this as a simple coaching move but there is more to It for this guy
If I may: - Again, at no time did Notre Dame offer to match USC. In fact, there was very little communication at all after USC formally extended Bowden’s offer. - Freeman, and Bowden’s professional relationship had been deteriorating for some time. Bowden felt under-appreciated, and Freeman was no longer sold on Bowden’s approach, nor his results. - Bowden had been having informal communication with USC for quite some time. He’d also had communication with other schools. - Regardless of whether he accepted USC’s offer or not, Bowden wasn’t long for Notre Dame. It was time for him to move on. - I don’t wish to diminish the successes of Bowden while he as at Notre Dame, but him leaving was best for him, his wife, Freeman, and Notre Dame. - Many of his statements since leaving are not being received well. In other words: See you in October
PFF Countdown of top 101 graded players of 2024: 16. X Watts 19. J Love 21. L Moore (top returning CB) 71. R Leonard 75. J Clark 88. J Kiser 94. D Bowen A Wagner they mentioned was between 101-110
moore was also such a miss, how do you miss this guy? He has everything. He probably did not go to the camps
I mean yeah the guy that played video games with teenagers and bounced around in leprechaun outfits is a bit immature
I was going to make that joke lol, but i was using the beat box at the airport. I just did not want to sound like I am bashing the guy, he did a good job. He is an élite version of a geo. Not sure i have the right word. Those adults that are in charge of animations for summer camp for kids
also, this played to our advantage too...he didn't do camps and had some injuries his SR season so it gave him a low profile (3* guy) but if blew up his SR year or during the camp season, UT and A&M would have been all over him making it a huge battle for him I believe his dad works at UT too
https://atozsports.com/college-foot...on-onye-notre-dame-football-latest-on-return/ Onye reportedly back
wow, that's HUGE for the team...makes our DT/NG depth much stronger and he's a big powerful kid hopefully he keeps his head on straight Ryan Roberts is reporting that so that's legit
So the gm dude agreed to the deal but went home and couldn’t convince his family to come. Rough stuff.
incredible, he goes after the big ones. Of course sometimes it won’t work out. It’s easy to close when all you do is make up a false national search for an oc and then promote tommy rees
Ok bring on the next guy not one poster has ever heard of but will be an indictment against a coach who just coached in the national championship game if he isn’t hired.
