For some reason, I thought Ash stayed through 2016. Forget what I said ND fans. You guys are fucked with Ash as your coach now.
USC twitter seems to be saying that USC proposed to renew the rivalry as long as it’s in Week 0, 1, or 2 and we are saying no
Problem is, we've booked those weeks with teams like Alabama. They're loading their proposals with poison pills that they know ND can't accommodate in hope that it makes it look like ND's the program being difficult. They still look scared.
They have been playing 1 "tough" OOC game in a week one shoot out type thing...Pretty obvious they are telling us they'll play us there but no in addition to another tough OOC game.. Soft.
During the Pete Carroll era when they went on that streak of whooping our asses, never once did I think about cancelling the series. I only thought about the day we would exact revenge. If Riley knew anything about the series he’d realize it is extremely streaky, where one team will win for a number years in a row before the script gets flipped. But Riley clearly doesn’t appreciate history and he clearly doesn’t seem to have confidence in his ability to match up with Marcus Freeman. It all stinks. I will be sad if and when the series ends.
fluff but what else is there this time of year https://athlonsports.com/college-fo...coaches-anonymously-scout-notre-dame-for-2025 Spoiler Coaches Anonymously Scout Notre Dame for 2025 “They might’ve had the same ending in a national title game, but football people understand the difference between the kind of roster [Marcus] Freeman has built vs. the staff before.” “National titles are the standard here, but this is definitely a changed program for the better.” “With [Steve] Angeli gone, it seems like [CJ] Carr is the favorite to win the starting QB job.” “If [Jeremiyah] Love doesn’t have a Heisman season, it might be because there’s so much quality at that position. They’ve got a lot of talent in the backfield.” “It’s a safe bet you’re going to see a lot more mixed coverages with [Chris] Ash as the DC. They were dead to rights against Ohio State on the outside playing man.” “That defense is really talented, even losing some key leaders.” “Overall, this is the most consistent we’ve seen the program in a long time.”
Won't lie, for as much Golden worship as we've thrown around - and he's deserved a lot of it - he did get absolutely cooked in that title game and made zero adjustments. He was working with a skeleton crew at Edge, but point still the same. Ash couldn't have done much worse, so I have high hopes with an organic pass rush.
he was severely limited at CB too w/ BenMo hurt, he was handcuffed in a lot of ways and OSU was fully prepared and balanced to handle anything Golden through at them
He absolutely made adjustments. We ran zone almost exclusively in that game, like we were forced to against USC. We just absolutely stunk in zone because it was generally foreign to our back 7 based on what they ran each game all season. I’m somewhat nitpicking here, but we did adjust. But because we were so beholden to a different coverage all year, we weren’t able to adjust well once that coverage was obviously not going to be the answer. Our plan B option was probably worse than an out-manned Plan A because we weren’t multiple.
Whatever, I have watched far too much losing because of soft ass zone with my NFL team I'm not going to get mad that my team got beat trying to man up on defense.
Was there more to this article I’m missing? I hope there is because I’m honestly interested to see more commentary
Same. We went down swinging and playing the style of defense that got us there. During Golden’s first year, we got carved up whenever we played a soft zone to end a half.
I honestly wish we played more man in the Natty. We were giving up TD drives anyway. It couldn’t have been worse
Was there any buzz on Joey O'Brien post-PSU visit last weekend? The hype going in was they were trying to get him to shut it down and commit shortly thereafter, but a week later and I think he's still slated to do all visits and haven't seen any new predictions or anything
My friend is in town for Movement festival, as he was in 2023. One of the first things he asked me was whether we’d be watching ND lacrosse during the down time as we did last time…..I was heartbroken.
That’s quite the lineup. I legit think the only name I recognize is Horsegirl who I caught bit of during Coachella. she was pretty bad.
I have never heard of her haha I’ve gone to this festival like 12-13 times, so definitely seen some of these people a few times.
Are they tired of cross country flights less than a year after destroying college football? I’m so so sad for them
While on the subject allaboutthecash what are your thoughts on sc pussying out of their only meaningful rivalry?
Surely that int from Moore is nuts 16:43 put the ball where only your receiver çan get it moore- hold my beer
They look better than our mustard pants, but really this is just more evidence that our pants are terrible and need to be fixed
I think its probably o'Brien for the lot of us. I just want to argue the point of a true DT or a big WR (dont even really have names to match to it) as our DB recruiting is awesome anyways
