These announcers want Minnesota Duluth to win? Seems like it, and they did not control the puck once in this third period. Time to throw some pucks at the net and go for it
They are agressive on the puck carrier, speed up your decision making and throw more pucks at the net, go for rebounds
That's a bummer. Duluth was the better team tonight, but still frustrating that that second lame goal was the game winner.
I understand the hatred for Kelly but you really stretched it. It seems like you can’t discuss anything Nd related without saying something bad about Kelly. I don’t give a shit about the guy and frankly I kind of like your internet persona but you are over doing it, it’s ok to just want a Nd team to do good and not bitch about Kelly in the process. And I am a sub alum so of course my opinion is not worth a lot
The excuse even back to the Adidas days was that the newer materials don't allow for the "shiny" gold pants. Who knows how true that is.
Coach D on jay hayes Spoiler This has been a bit of a roller coaster the last couple weeks with Jay Hayes. But here's what I know..... I was hanging out with a source the Thursday before Easter and during that conversation I was told that Jay Hayes had quit the team. Several reasons were given, but I was told to not quote the source and instead try to get confirmation from someone else. After speaking with a few people on the Notre Dame side of things I was told that Jay had quit but that the staff was still working to get him back on the team, so I was asked to keep that information to myself until they had worked it all out. Had to agree otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the information. A couple of days later I was told that Jay had decided to come back to the team. I was told "Crisis averted." Obviously Jay has since had another change of heart. After reaching out to a few folks tonight I was given several reasons for his departure. It wasn't really one issue that caused him to leave, but rather a number of different reasons, and I was only given a few specifics. Jay was losing snaps this spring to Khalid Kareem and Ade Ogundeji, and when he quit the first time it opened up a window for both to continue pushing him aside. That certainly didn't ease the situation, and (my opinion here) I'm sure the coaches weren't going to all of a sudden give him more reps to keep him happy. Those reps needed to be earned. Jay also has some personal issues going on, and what I was told the first time he quit is that they were the primary issue. I'm under the impression that Jay already has one kid and there is some conflicting info about whether or not he's having another one. But either way, this personal situation has played into his decision to stay with the team. There were some other things mentioned but they were more vague and I'd rather not post information without having more confirmation and more specifics. Academics was one thing thrown around, but I have received zero information about any academic issues with Jay. I'm not saying there aren't issues and not confirmation there are. I haven't heard anything either way about that. Khalid Kareem is the starter now, and my understanding is that was going to happen no matter what. Ade Ogundeji has been making a push this spring as well, so obviously he moves up the depth chart now. Expect Jamir Jones to get some time at both end spots in a similar role to what Andrew Trumbetti played last year. I'm also expecting incoming freshman Jayson Ademilola to get some early time at SDE as well. I'll try to keep getting more info, but that's what I have for now.
Recruiting scoop from 247 Spoiler Notre Dame hosted some big-time players from the 2019 and 2020 classes over the past few days. (Photo: Tom Loy, 247Sports) How did things go? Here is some scoop I’ve gathered on a few recruits that were on campus. — The recruitment of four-star offensive lineman Zeke Correll continues to be tough to read. At this point, it still looks like there are three teams firmly in the mix including Notre Dame, Ohio State and Clemson. In talking to multiple sources, the feeling I get is that his family prefers that he end up in South Bend with the Fighting Irish due to the blend of athletics and academics. Defensive line coach Mike Elston has done a tremendous job to put the Irish in the mix and offensive line coach Jeff Quinn has more than made up for the loss of former offensive line coach Harry Hiestand. Multiple sources tell me that Correll really likes Quinn and is a big believer in what he’ll do with the Irish offensive line. That duo has given Notre Dame a great chance to land the Top100 talent. Everyone is sold on Notre Dame, but it’s not going to be easy for Correll to pick the Irish. Ohio State is never easy to turn down for in-state recruits and Clemson has made him a huge priority. I still like my 247Sports Crystal Ball for Notre Dame, but not as much as when I put it in and the Irish were comfortably in the lead for his services. — I’m not sure a recruit had a more enjoyable time than four-star tight end Ethan Rae and his parents. Not only did they have a great time in South Bend, but I’m told the staff loved being around the top target and his folks. This is a young man that fits perfectly at Notre Dame in terms of what he’s looking for in a school. Rae raved about the trip, especially his time with offensive coordinator Chip Long. The two really hit it off this weekend. I absolutely expect him to be back in town for an official visit early this fall, so he can check out a game day at Notre Dame. The Irish are going to be big players in this race. I'll also add that one-time Notre Dame target and Washington cornerback signee Julius Irvin once told Rae that "you won't get what Notre Dame is truly about until you visit" and added that he'll love it. Well, coming out of this visit, Rae said, "He was right. I get it now." — Not too much to report on four-star defensive lineman Rodas Johnson. It was another good visit between him and the Fighting Irish coaching staff. On paper, I still like my 247Sports Crystal Ball for Notre Dame after this visit. However, with a decision date set for late summer or early fall, I’m curious if Notre Dame will be full along the defensive line by the time he wants to make a commitment. The longer it goes, the less likely the Irish will have room in my opinion. The staff really needs defensive ends and pass-rushers, so that is where Notre Dame is pushing hard at this point. — Not much to take away yet, but I’m told it was a “great” visit for five-star defensive end Bryan Bresee. I’ll have more later today from him after The Opening Regional in New Jersey, but his early texts included the words “great” and “a lot of fun.” — Posted a full story on four-star offensive guard Luke Wypler early Sunday morning. It’s clear that Notre Dame is going to be a huge factor in his recruitment throughout the process. Offensive line coach Jeff Quinn crushed Wypler’s first trip to South Bend and no question he’ll continue pushing all of the right buttons. Not only do I expect Notre Dame to eventually land his commitment at this point, but I believe the Irish are going to be tough to beat for his teammate, four-star defensive end Howard Cross, when he visits soon. — I’m told cornerbacks coach Todd Lyght did a terrific job with four-star cornerback RJ Mickens, a standout in the class of 2020. Mickens landed a Notre Dame offer recently and quickly set the return trip to South Bend. This was his second visit to Notre Dame and with an offer in hand, it was even more enjoyable than the first. I’m told Lyght likes Mickens a lot and will treat him as a top priority moving forward. Don’t be surprised if the Irish get him on campus multiple times before he eventually decides to make a decision. — Notre Dame offered three-star defensive end Josiah Miamen once he stepped on campus and got around the coaching staff. He’s an intriguing prospect because he rushes the passer and plays tight end at a high level. Notre Dame believes he’s a great fit no matter what he wants to play at the next level, but the expectation is that if he picks the Irish, he’ll play defense. — I’m still waiting to see how things went with three-star offensive tackle Jack Stewart. Notre Dame has been evaluating him closely for a long time and getting him on campus kind of happened quickly and came out of nowhere. A week or two before he visited, the trip wasn’t even set. Notre Dame made a big push and convinced him to get on campus. My assumption is that it was one of those “come visit and you’ll leave with an offer” type of situations, but we’ll see what Stewart has to say. I like his tape a lot and believe he has the ability to play both tackle and guard at the next level. Michigan is like the team to beat, but I would expect the Irish to pull even with an offer on board. — I'm still waiting to hear more on four-star linebacker Brandon Smith. Again, as we've reported, there isn't a bigger priority at the position for defensive coordinator Clark Lea. Penn State is a major threat, as well as Ohio State. I'd be shocked if the Irish didn't get him back on campus this fall for game day.
This blurb kind of irritates me. Ok, the kid is gone, whatever, but to include stuff like "there is conflicting info" on if he's having another kid and talking about academics then saying he has "zero information about any academic issues" then why even mention it. No need to put this kid's personal life on blast because he left a football team.
They're both champions today! Congrats to the former fan who just won the Masters. It must be fun to take a picture with a two-time national championship coach. What an honor!
That's a fair point. Ceci n'est pas un fanatique ou un champion. I hadn't even considered that it was merely a picture.
The reference was to Magritte's "The Treachery of Images", which is a painting of a pipe with the caption "This is not a pipe." Obviously, it is not a pipe because it is a picture of a pipe. Just like your post was not a champion and a fan, it was a picture of a champion and a fan. Spoiler
Seems like we've lost quite a bit of traction from that early JR day. Watson and NANA 2 guys we looked really good for are now leaning towards Texas
those guys both visited TX more recently and they've TX has the momentum now ND gets another shot at both soon I think if we land litchfield soon (visiting Thurs and deciding soon) and land Olmstead and/or Kristofic in the next couple of weeks, that would give us a ton of momentum also fully expecting us to land a commitment from LB Osi when he visits this weekend and he'd be a really nice pickup as well
I am sure three people the team will actually need in the fall will become ineligible while sixth string roster squatters will remain safe
well to be fair, weve offloaded more of those bodies than usual this offseason. Tiassum will not be missed just to name a guy
pretty sure he jsut flipped his CB for Joseph Anderson to USC jr. The DLine class which seemed to be looking incredibly is quickly falling apart
