Recruiting rough patch. Losing a DL who lives in SEC Country to Tenn, Bama, UGA, Auburn makes sense but unless the kid is from South Carolina not sure how were losing a kid we want to Scar
there was some academic issue reported a while back, but i feel thats more often than not just an excuse
Joseph Andersen's top 2 right now are ARK and SCjr so i think that says all you need to know about his academic situation from Loy Spoiler Not great news. I went ahead and changed my 247Sports Crystal Ball to South Carolina for four-star defensive end Joseph Anderson. My gut is this doesn't workout for Notre Dame in the end. Simple as that. I've wanted to change this pick for a while, but I didn't pull the trigger until today. The Irish will continue to recruit pass-rushers this cycle and likely land a few. It's a big need in this class. Just wanted to fill you guys in on my changed pick today.
We are out for Zach Harrison and David Bell - we weren't really all that in it for either of them we are trending away from Nana and Kenyatta Watson we are trending for Litchfield, Zeke Correll (just visited this past weekend and Wiltfong already CB'd him to ND), Olmstead, Kristofic, Osi, and Quinn Carroll according to Loy Coach D and Kevin Sinclair both feel ND leads for Kyle Hamilton as well even though he keeps visiting UGA (i thought this was particularly interesting) but both i think have a pretty good relationship with Kyle. To be fair, he has visited ND 3 times already
Very typical ND there don't know how we got our hopes up that we would land an elite DL class. Also seems like OL will be a good class again.
this is a big deal IMO...it means Eichenberg beat out Hainsey for LT and i think Hainsey is a pretty good LT prospect already
Sinclair's recruiting rundown Spoiler One of Notre Dame’s strengths in 2018 will be in the middle of the defense as the mike and buck linebacker positions. Drue Tranquill and Te’Von Coney are true veterans the Irish coaching staff can count on. In 2019, Clark Lea’s group will have a drastically new look. Notre Dame struck it rich at inside linebacker in the 2018 class, including a pair of the top mike linebackers in the country in Jack Lamb and Matthew Bauer. Bauer has impressed at camp, while Lamb has the look of a multi-year starter at either the mike or buck position. It’s tough to say which position former Harrison High School star Ovie Oghoufo will end up at, given his long, lean physical attributes and wide-ranging skill set. Currently, he’s lined up at the rover position, although he has a lot of football ahead of him. The excitement in what the Irish have in Shayne Simon at the rover position is sky-high. The New Jersey product jumped into the Top 50 in the 247Sports rankings after an eyebrow-raising performance at the U.S. Army All-America Bowl. Depth at rover looks less of an imminent issue as the buck and mike positions, with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoahcoming on, along with Asmar Bilal, who looks to be in position to start in September unless an underclassman can un-seat the former four-star in-state prospect. It’s worth noting that Isaiah Robertson and D.J. Morgan have moved down to linebacker. It will be interesting to see how they develop. All-in-all, the Irish are in a good position to continue to field a competitive linebacker unit post-2018, primarily with the impressive foursome of Lamb, Bauer, Oghoufo, and Simon. But, adding a few high-caliber linebackers in the 2019 class is crucial for long-term quality depth. Currently, the Irish are in a good position to add those pieces. Tristan Sinclair Tristan Sinclair (Photo: Brandon Huffman, 247Sports) Prior to Tristan Sinclair’s trip to Notre Dame last week, we knew he posted truly impressive numbers at The Opening Regional in San Fransisco, proving that his explosive play shown in his loaded junior season Hudl film is backed up on paper. We knew he held an Ivy League-level academic profile with interest in studying business. And we knew that his father was once offered by the Irish and took an unofficial visit to Notre Dame before eventually choosing Stanford. After his trip to South Bend, we know that Sinclair is a real option for Notre Dame. The Top 200 prospect was expecting an awe-striking experience and what he left with was a visit that exceeded his expectations. Sinclair visited Stanford and UCLA following his trip to South Bend but left without offers. Notre Dame put the offer on the table in early March and are selling a role (rover linebacker) that fits Sinclair’s strong points like a glove. The Irish are in this one. Brandon Smith (Photo: Michael Clark, 247Sports) Like all five-star recruits, the Irish are battling a list of high-profile programs who Smith has visited, including Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, and others. Smith visited Notre Dame last week with his family, leaving with a strong impression of both the football program and academics. Clark Lea has put in the work you would expect toward the elite linebacker recruit, visiting Louisa County High School multiple times and keeping in close contact. This will be an all-out dogfight. However, when Smith announces his official visit list, it would be a big surprise if the Irish weren’t included. Osita Ekwonu (Photo: Matt Cashore, 247Sports) If you’re waging a bet on which linebacker Notre Dame will land in 2018, the Charlotte, N.C. prospect Osita Ekwonuwould be the safe bet as of today. Ekwonu went from unranked with just a few offers, to Top 247 recruit with offers from Alabama, Duke, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, and many others, in a matter of a few months. Ekwonu takes his third trip in the last year to South Bend this weekend, which will be an official visit. Behind the scenes, there’s plenty of pro-Notre Dame talk among those with knowledge of the recruitment. The Ekwonu family is close with the Okwara family, both immigrating to the U.S. from Nigeria and residing in Charlotte. Ekwonu plans to visit Ohio State and Penn State following his trip to Notre Dame, two programs who could give the Irish a fight. Still, as things stand, the Irish are in good shape with the chiseled junior. Spencer Lytle (Photo: 247Sports) Lytle has some interesting ties to Notre Dame, with Rick Mirer being a close family friend of the Lytle’s, as well as former Irish tight end Oscar McBride, who Lytle knows well through his years at Servite High School – a program the Irish know well – and Irish safety Jordan Genmark-Heath and linebacker D.J. Morgan being friends from the past. The Trinity League linebacker’s brother, Tyler Lytle, also visited Notre Dame as a prospect, attending an Irish Invasion camp. Tyler also played lacrosse with Jordan Genmark-Heath and Mo Mirer, who now plays lacrosse at Notre Dame. With all these links, Lytle had been highly-anticipating his trip to Notre Dame, which he took last week. After the visit, it’s clear the Irish are on Lytle’s short list. Of course, Notre Dame always faces an uphill battle with prospects from California. However, Lytle has serious interest in the Irish and will continue to take a long look at the Midwest program. Aside from Sinclair, Smith, Ekwonu, and Lytle, Notre Dame is in good standing with additional linebackers. Top 100 inside linebacker Nick Henrich will be in South Bend this weekend – a prospect who has been outside of the heavy linebacker discussions often but should be looked at closely. Henrich has a special nose for the football, great closing speed, and a 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame that could be compared to what we saw in Jack Lamb at this time last year. Henrich will be in South Bend this weekend. Keep your eye on the Omaha, Nebraska prospect. Another highly-coveted linebacker who has been fading from the discussion (to an extent) lately is Keith Maguire. After visits to Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama, the concern and speculation that the Irish are fading is understandable. However, don’t count the Malvern Prep prospect out yet. Maguire plans to return to South Bend, although, unlike his first Notre Dame visit, he will have plenty of additional strong options available. In the end, Notre Dame should collect another strong linebacker group. It will be interesting to see how many bodies Clark Lea adds at the pivotal position group, but with Lamb, Bauer, Simon, and Oghoufo getting their feet wet in 2018, the Irish should end up with an impressive two-year haul that will rival most top national programs.
Eichenberg at LT is ideal if he's truly earned it. He's the prototype, Hainsey is a bit smaller and originally was pegged inside by many. He doesn't have the same length but will be a stud at RT. Think Kramer is really suited for G as well. He's more the road grader. Like all the moves. Lugg needs to get some reps somewhere because the guy is a stud
Spring game roll call? Unless the weather goes to hell I'll be there with lil' Niles and a toddler size tailgate.
long term forecast has 55-60 and cloudy so that's ok. And there is no way ND doesn't monetize this thing and do it. Unless it's an absolute shit show.

Just popped in to say that laxjoe is a gentlemen and a scholar. After 2 months of trying to get together (my fault) he delivered on a dope ass shirt. Like his posts.
I want this to be true more than anything. I love Brandon. Maybe I'm judging too much off one season, but it just seems like when the bright lights are on his nerves get the better of him.
Actually wearing it right now. Next time we'll invite Beeds07 and Thoros of Beer . We can grab some popcorn and watch them slap each other.
After watching Nd jerk itself to a loss against USF in 2011 nothing is too graphic for me anymore, I would just enjoy the popcorn and beer.
As long as your liver is not the reason why you are always so angry, I would welcome it. Who wouldn’t want a spare liver?
