https://www.onefootdown.com/2018/5/...tre-dame-chip-long-fighting-irish-brian-kelly Preferred walk on Grad transfer. 3rd gen ND.
Listened to O'Malley on XM from yesterday and he made heavy reference to Dex being suspended and Armstrong being the horse. Being an ND fan can be so damn hard.
Eating shit on the practice squad is probably a more pleasant experience than studying for grad school standardized tests.
I feel like there are only 2 possible outcomes if there is anything to these rumors (and there is always something to these kind of rumors). 1) It's drugs and he gets the Cierre Wood/Kevin Stepherson treatment and has a low-key 4 game suspension. If his absence doesn't cost us the Michigan game, that could actually be a blessing in disguise given how fragile he has been and how soft games 2-4 are. If its this scenario, we probably never really hear anything official about it. 2) It's a full-year offense (usually academic related) which more than likely means his ND career is over given his history. I would imagine we hear about this relatively soon if its this scenario.
I just read Coney has to stand trial for his arrest in 2016 in Fulton, IN on Marijuana charges. Apparently the plea deal was withdrawn. Anyone have better info?
Seems like he probably failed a drug test tied to his probation and withdrew from the original plea deal because he had violated the terms. Anybody know the type of drug charge? I assume this won't be a huge deal as he's already "served time" from a football perspective, unless this alleged failed drug test is under the umbrella of athlete drug testing at ND. Obviously not sure if he has any negative drug tests under his belt that predate this one.
Sometimes I wish I didn't care enough to pay attention in the off season. It always seems to be more bad than good.
No. Do not put that kind of filth on that game. We could go 1-11 and if we beat meatchicken I'll be ok. Plus we'd get rid of Kelly.
Listening to Irish Illustrated podcast today and they did a Michigan preview Again mentioned the if not now then when mantra from last year’s Georgia game. ND never wins these games so ya gonna suck when Michigan wins
I'm pretty serious. The number of assholes who un-ironically say shit like "hahaha You live in Michigan, why don't you like Michigan" Is abnormally high. We also have dick heads who will gloat when ND loses in shit like women's softball just because. Most of these people could not tell you who Shea Patterson is, but, they know who Jafar Armstrong is. The hate is real where I live, and it is infuriating.
Just a short anecdote. I have friends who have to block their friend's phones because they text consistently through games in things like the NIT. We're talking like 10-12 messages during an NIT game. I know this for fact, that same person has no idea who UM's basketball coach is.
3 of their loses last year came from McSorley, Lewerke, and Miller. Wisky is just Wisky and I honestly could not tell you who SC had at QB. His defense is downhill attacking always. It's like BVG but done by a human person. It still can break down when a kid can move.
I apologize to everyone my wife was out of town and daddy hit the sauce hard last night. With that said now that I'm sober, Wimbush did not blow he just was bad. sorry
Wimbush was a bad passer. His overall production at the position I would call good/mediocre. There were times where he was a dynamic running threat and their efficiency in the red zone was really good.
I would agree with this, there were times that he showed his potential in the passing game but he would miss some of the easy throws. If he can get to upper 50s or low 60s completion % with his running ability. The offense would open up.
Given the fact that so many of his issues were with what should be easy throws hopefully there are mechanical fixes that can will go a long way. Another thing to consider that it was a first year in an offense that focused heavily on the run. It may not be fair to put all of the blame for being out of synch on the qb, especially with how unreliable the supposed leaders at WR were. Look at the scouting report for St Brown, lazy routes and not fighting for balls. For him to fall as far as he did with his skills there must have been some awful tape on him.
These two things aren't mutually exclusive btw... could be a Golson type year where we beat Michigan and Stanford and the offense is churning but then struggle with the back half of the schedule and the season is lost
The toughest game on the schedule is week one honestly, Mich is loaded. However Mich might finish 9-3 but still be a top ten tream. Their schedule is beyond brutal. They somehow drew Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Northwestern from the West to pair with road trips to MSU, OSU, and ND Ohh and a home date with PSU Fuck me that’s tough
Don't disagree - just was saying that if we win those two games and he adds a somewhat competent passing game onto similar rushing production, he'll probably be in the conversation. Then as we've discussed, the second half of the schedule is full of landmines and not much of it takes place in SB.
