Assuming we can finish off the past two games, this will be the best two year period for ND football in a long, long time. And the trajectory for the next several years looks pretty solid. I think Notre Dame may have finally found their RKG.
I was trolling ever so slightly. Still, I have to give the guy a lot of credit. Next season when we trudge through that gauntlet of a schedule and go 8-4, we'll all be calling for his head again though.
Hard to see more than 2 losses on the schedule next year tbh. The offense should be dynamite and if all the defensive ends return, look out. Book will be a top 3-5 qb in the country
Love might be a first rounder -Not happening Okwara will come back. He's not big enough yet. Boykin should be back I don't think he'd get drafted ATM. Kareem isn't polished enough
most rankings ive seen have him as a late second kinda guy. I guess if he does get a rd1 kinda grade he can go but his physical traits could well be an issue for him to go that high
we can lose 1 end if need be. We can go into next season with any mix of 3 out of ogundeji, hayes, okwara and kareem and im good. The smaller twin and jamir jones will provide acceptable depth beyond that. Would love for them all to come back obviously and alleviate the interior losses a bit

In the other cases of this there was a combo of a lesser supporting cast combined with an expansion of the playbook. Next year the roster will not have the same losses and god willing Long will still be calling plays.
The case for Love staying or leaving is not about how high he's going to go, it's about that he has likely maxed his ceiling at the college level and he doesn't want to play for free. If anything is going to hold back his draft stock it's his 40 and that isn't going to change in a year.
I have nothing to base this on, but it doesn't even seem like his defense is worth his lack of offense at this point. At least a couple years ago he was a shut down defender (or seemed to be). This season it just seems like we'd be better off overall if he wasn't around
i don't think this team was ever going to the tournament to begin with, so it's not close to ball state (since that was the game that kept us out of the tournament last year). but this wasn't good. it's going to be a long season.
