Its fairly easy to say that Buchner is the most skilled QB Kelly has had during any year of coaching and even with all the bitching he's gotten serviceable work out of less talented guys. I'm interested in seeing Book under Rees this year before I judge but im choosing to let CFB be something I'm optimistic about since there isn't much else.
i think both wimbush and kizer were very talented guys. Hell, even crist was at the very least very toolsy.
I just don't think Wimbush not being able to throw a ten yard out is on Kelly. Kizer is by far the most talented he's had so far and had a pretty good year before leaving too early as a junior. I still hold that Buchner is more skilled than either. Books shortcomings last year (refusing to throw deep, throwing 4 yard routes on 3rd and 6) werent designs of the offense, just the guy running it. Wimbush had no problems throwing deep balls. Again, in choosing not to nitpick and slow my enthusiasm over a two day camp. Maybe I'm wrong, I am a lot.
So Barstool is having a racism issue (I'm not 100% sure I even know what Barstool is but I've had some down time and I was reading the thread) and apparently Brandon Newman (former ND DL backup) works there and is slightly involved. That's all I got.
They had some rough shit come out that rightfully getting dragged. Their leader is an unapologetic ass, shit goes from there.
yeah that's what I gather. I was mostly just passing along the Brandon Newman part... sorta forgot he existed but I guess he's building a name for himself which is cool.
Apparently the name of a specific episode of their podcast. Being discussed in the Clay Travis thread in case anyone wants to waste 10 minutes of your life
Cliffs because Fuck Clay Travis? Edit: I read it and outside of needing another shower, I guess its POC that work for Portnoy shitting on him. I guess thats one way to play it, but maybe not name the Podcast about your bosses racism with a racist slur acronym Also, Fuck Barstool and fuck Portnoy.
The podcast is called 2Biggs and it’s Willie Colon and Brandon Newman’s pod. In that episode all the non-white people that work for barstool are on it and the name was Willies decision which the others are not happy about to say the least.
Just saw one of the Ademilola kids and someone I’m guessing is also a player at Belmont mask less buying booze for a party. COVID shut down here we come.
i don’t think any Irish people will ever complain about the name projecting them to be the type to get into a fight from time to time. Daniel Ocean
when I got into ND my grandpa gave me a tshirt that said Drink Like a Champion Today and it had the leprechaun with a bottle of jack in each hand.
so the staff has pretty mcuh given up recruiting it appears. were now getting a bunch of crystal balls for an OT whose best offer besides us is fucking iowa
Iowa and Wisky are the 2 best programs at identifying 3 star talent and grooming them to be top level Olinemen Alt is the son of a former Iowa player who was a TE and became a top pick and played for 10 years in the NFL. If there is a better blueprint for something like this, I don't know what it is. I'd take him even if we already had Rucci or Milum in this class because the potential payoff would be worth it
Loy had this to say on Tyree: I'm told the freshman running back has been outstanding since his arrival at Notre Dame. He's sitting at 190 pounds and has been impressive in the weight room and in testing. Numbers are up there with guys that have been in the S&C program for a few years. Needless to say... he's the real deal and everyone at Notre Dame is fired up for him to hit the field week one.
I put 0 stock in any off season report but my hope is that Tom Rees will have a better understanding of how to deploy him/get him on the field and not just relegate him to the sideline because he doesn’t yet fully understand the pass protection schemes
and Alt officially announces his commitment to ND he's got 3 years to add 50 lbs and learn to play with it before he's even remotely needed
Looking forward to confirmation of his lack of touches come week 8* being based on not understanding blitz pickups Spoiler * of his sophomore year
I mean studying the playbook and getting reps/workouts for 9-10 months as a freshman before the season actually way increases the odds Kelly puts him out there IMO
There has been a bit of hand wringing over the OL recruitment and while I think Quinn should have landed one of Tengwall/Rucci I will be pretty content with the OL class assuming they can finish the deal with Rocco Spindler (if they don't then meltdown mode is in play). Fisher is the best OL propsect of the Kelly era on tape since Nelson imo. Coogan is solid and probably will get bumped up to a 4 star. Alt is definitely a project but I like the bloodline there and his athleticism/potential, much prefer taking a guy like this than a guy who might be rated slightly higher who has pretty much maxed out what he can do. When you have the depth that ND has then fuck it, take a few of these guys. RB and WR recruiting are a different story though, yeesh
