Don't forget tight ends. We'll probably have 2 commit in the next 3 weeks
Let’s get USC and Clemson out here in February.
this gives me fond memories of playing Miami in El Paso...that was a serious butt kicking
That was oddly one of my favorite games to attend as an ND fan born in the late 80s. Just such a weird ambiance (snowing on the boarder of Mexico), but the game was so rewarding to watch. 99.9% of the crowd was pro-ND as well.
Also, Harry Smith is my guy.
My favorite and worst ND moments of the last ten years were Miami. My buddy telling a cocky young Miami fan to eat a dick on Michigan Ave in Chicago and the fans in Pro Player after jumping to a big lead the last time we played them
When you include the city of Miami in that mix, it really does capture most of the highest highs and lowest lows over the past decade plus.
Did you ever find your shoes?
alright, let’s talk about this
My birthday was the Friday before the championship game. Had a little bit too much to drink down in SoBe that night. Nothing more to see here.
There are no rules at an on the beach Flo Rida show.
Wait what ND full member of the ACC?
I fully expected that for this year. The ACC treats us like a full member and it is just easier for everyone. Next year we go back to normal.
Yup pretty much as expected although being able to play in the acc championship would be interesting.
The best part of that is how it will piss off fans of other acc teams
Winning an ACC championship in our one and only year in the conference would be fan-fucking-tastic.
Like when we dominated the b1g in hockey during our first season, but one trillion times better
Lol ND wins every game but Book gets Corona and ND loses to fucking Wake to keep them out of the title game is more like the Brian Kelly era
If we're able to keep a plus one, please make it Arkansas and not Navy.
In a scattered season like this with a million variables, the last thing we need is to get dominated by a triple option and have 3 DL go down for a month.
I would be so erect
Looks like we have two COVID scenarios...
- Spring football where our opponents lose major players while we don’t
- Fall football where were a favorite for a game likely determining playoff status
This doesn’t stink
Does your second point assume we'd be the favorite against Clemson?
The favorite to be the 2nd best team in the ACC, which is the criteria for getting into the title game given they’re getting rid of divisions
Got it - I interpreted that as "favorite IN a game."
I think we would be favorites in the 9 other ACC games and Arkansas, and we'd have two ~20-25% shots against Clemson. If we split those against Clemson its hard if we both go 11-1 with wins over each other to keep us out of a playoff unless Big 12 champ, SEC champ, and OSU all go undefeated.
Entire MSU football team in quarantine for 14 days
Not great, Bob!
I appreciate that these ADs are doing their job and trying to find a way to make this work. Seems like a waste of time though.
Sacrifices must be made! The American people demand satisfaction.
2022 schedule is going to be rough
I dunno I vividly remember looking at last years schedule in 2018ish and thinking about how hard it was going to be.
OL from Zionsville committed. Now go get Strickland & Curry
Certainly better than chick fil a.
Sounds like Jack Nickel (2022 TE from UGA) is committing today and Loy said we could have another commit later this week (I am guessing it's a 2022 kid)
Blake Fisher stepping up. He tweeted something over the weekend setting the stage.
Jack Nickel commits to ND!
Loy says there is not another silent quite yet, but i'm guessing someone is really close to committing. If I were to guess, I could see one of the 2022 WI linemen committing - one Scrauth/Hinzman being the most likely
we withdrew from hosting the presidential debate today. expected. but a bummer
mildly surprised by this but given the amount of additional people it'd bring on to campus it's undoubtedly a smart move
thinking ND is pushing hard for public commits to build any type of momentum before Rocco inevitably picks Michigan
from what i've seen, it's kind of the opposite. They will announce a commitment right after a big recruit announces elsewhere - this is what they did with Shipley and Philip Riley (at least it appeared that way). I know it doesn't appear that way based on national perception, but in a way, Riley's commit actually means more than Shipley's in terms of impact to ND. ND absolutely needed top level CBs this cycle and Riley is really high up there for me. Shipley is really good, but if i could only have one, i'd have taken Riley for ND
Probably another tight end
yeah feels like mitchell evans is the most likely pick
Its a shame we had to waste Blake Fisher's efforts on the corona classes.
also... come on.
not joking, Shipley is a really good RB and probably the better talent overall, but Riley fills a MASSIVE hole after last year's debacle of a CB class. Again, not saying Riley is a better player, but for ND he was more important in this class
Its not like we're sitting on a mountain of RBs
I just feel like a small back like Tyree has to have help carrying the load. The hole is every bit as gaping at running back.
Also, stars beget more stars, especially with skill position players on offense
