I can see USC totally folding like a cheap suit by November. Whereas Fitzgerald will have his team up against ND no matter what.
Ouff, no confidence on Nd anymore. At home versus wake at home ;) and only a td favorite is sad but accurate, and they will cover
You know that thing we were really good at last year, well we're gonna do something totally different.
Makes sense even though I do not necessarily agree, basically saying that book is better at reading a defense. Seriously wimbush is clueless and I am not sure any coaching could help. He throws to guys covered and doesn’t even see a guy five yards away completely wide open. It’s so obvious now that inside the 10 wimbush is not throwing
Well if you have short yardage with extra blockers I think having a guy who can run the ball is your advantage.
We’re ranked in the top 10. The CFP had us in the top 4 in their first poll last year. We were close to setting rushing records last year. We controlled Michigan all game, which was the one of the most hyped games we’ve had in south bend in years. Facts some of you conveniently ignore or discount because it doesn’t fit your doomsday narrative.
I would agree, but so far the book package has worked 100% so I am not sure what you guys are trying to whine about.
And actually that is inaccurate. If there is no threat of a passing play because the qb can’t hit the side of a barn it makes it very easy for the defense. Last year Nd had success in the rz before teams realized wimbush could not throw.
I know piling on Wimbush is the go to, but Book had two guys wide open in the end zone and nearly overthrew both of them. I'm not saying he's great, but eventually teams are going to take away a play action and I don't see him as any better. The play calling is atrocious.
I am with you, I was not even trying to say book should play over wimbush. This offense would be completely helpless without a running qb. Like we saw with Rees at some point. Book is better than Rees but definitely not as good as wimbush
No shit. If I cared about Internet likes I’d just complain about wimbush and our coaching and claim victory whenever there’s a bad play. That recipe seems pretty foolproof here.
We've been watching this story for nigh on ten years. As exhausting as my rhetoric is, the "we almost made the playoffs" theme is far worse
Fair point. I try not to say that in a way that we accomplished anything, but more as a way of saying things could be way worse.
This is terrible football, not acceptable at all on any front. Not sure how nobody sees this . The guy is paid 4 millions a year and more money is pumped in his program for assistants and staff. 9 years...
Putting words in my mouth. I’m not accepting it, and I think we should take any risk that gives us a chance to be better. Just pointing out that it’s not as universally negative as some claim. Reading this thread sometimes you’d think we’re 0-3.
Aren't we playing Wake on the road? Agree that the -7 is piss poor but we haven't covered except against Michigan. Makes sense but doesn't necessarily mean Vegas doesn't have faith in us winning, just covering a larger spread.
Jfc... Just went on the ND rivals board. People are fighting with Driskell about wimbush and the team. It reads like we're 0-3. Why'd I think this was a good idea?
Thoros probably doesn’t remember Aero. He was whining like a baby to gain entrance to the private Board. I blame whoever vouched for him.
So one thing im curious about. I really think Wimbush wasnt that bad saturday. I think the playcalling was beyond awful and wimbush was hurt badly by baaad drops (including a baffling one from finke). Not saying that Wimbush is the answer or not but its a weird game to hate on him so much iyam
For what he can do and what he was asked to do, he was extremely efficient Saturday. Had very few qualms with him.
