Lawrence wasn’t even in the same stratosphere.
He looks great and has an arm, but his mantra is “throw it up high and make the receiver win a jump ball”. Burrow was fitting balls into gloves.
If being a better qb is consistently overthrowing your wrs than you may be right.
Feel like if you just take the difference from his 2018 stats to his 2019 stats you'd still have an outstanding year for a qb
Man, imagine watching the QB you let transfer away go on to have the single greatest season of all time and win the Heisman and National Title. Oof.
I honestly believe there's a punchers chance Jake Bentley is in the playoff next year
Forget prospect status, measurables, all that crap. In terms of actual on field performance with that team and that offense, he’s as unstoppable as any QB has ever been. He gets my vote.
lawrence's hair isnt even that great
Burrow is the best college QB imo. I think he had some damn good WR's but the guy put the ball on the money pretty much every throw. He's so good.
Hey man hey, let’s keep this honest and civil.
Wait, Cam Newton is the one people are stuck on?
It's crazy how much one broken hand has changed the course of the last few seasons of CFB.
I’ve never seen a QB so locked in and making perfect throws even on deep balls, best college QB season for sure
Yea, I don't get that either.
Greatest season ever.
AJ Green will make a shocking recovery from his injuries over the offseason.
Yeah, but he didn’t win the Bourbon Bowl.
It's hard for me to compare Burrow to Cam because they were so different in how they made their impact
Wish dbl's AJ McCarron thread were still around for some good reminiscing
Cam still can't make a third of the throws Burrow does now.
Never found myself seeking out games like I did this year to watch JB play. Honestly, the kid is fun af to watch and seems like an all-around enjoyable feller. Just a pleasure to witness. Congrats to the Tigers, what a hell of a ride.
Burrow still can't run power all night and still make throws.
Apples to oranges.
It’s been pretty great, honestly. He’s impossible to root against. We were and remain weird about supporting the kid, even if he played for the trashiest team/fanbase on earth.
so is Joe Brady really just staying with LSU next year?
btw I know preseason rankings are close to worthless, but LSU beat 1-4 from the AP preseason poll and 8 of the top 16 teams. averaged 48 points a game while doing it. not sure we'll see another season like this in our lifetimes.
burrow was down to unc or cincy before coach o got involved/he realized fedora was still employed at unc
its not fair
Well unless you were going to hire Joe Brady to turn him into a god it wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
idk id probably rather just hang out with eddie o and run through a bunch of coeds than work for some creep in a lead apron
What’s the feeling as a OSU/Browns fan knowing he’s going to be a Bengal?
likely woulda saved larry's job too
but you're right. burrow is clearly amazing but brady and those receivers just arent fair. chase was unstoppable all night
The latter part sucks. Same feeling I got in 2004 when Pittsburgh drafted Ben — he’s going to torch us for a decade at least.
I literally c/p an article title and somehow that got spun that I thought that. Never change, tmb.
incredible revisionist history from the most deranged brain on tmb
Cam Newton’s last 3 games: @Alabama, SEC Championship vs South Carolina, NC vs Oregon-
50/82 for 816yds 9td/1int, 176yds rushing 3td
Joe Burrow last 3 games: SEC Championship vs Georgia, playoff vs OU, NC vs Clemson-
88/127 for 1,305yds 16td/0int, 120yds rushing 2td
Cam was also not great in the NC vs Oregon: 20/34 for 265 2td1int, 64 rush yds 0tds
joe is also a honky deluxe with 1/9th of cam Newtown s athletic ability and physical prowess but who’s counting!
I do think Cam is remembered better because he played in a lot of close games.
Especially the Bama comeback
I love watching him play. Really that whole LSU offense play, especially compared to the old Les Miles days of regularly winning games with 13 points on offense.
I think he will translate well in the NFL, but my guess is he gets ruined by some terrible franchise that drafts him.
glad i got to see him in person this year
Yes he’s number one, you all saw the graphic. He passed Colt Brennan last night.
The touchdown record is incredible but it can be a deceptive measurement of what a QB does. His completion percentage is unconscionable given what he’s played against this year, but when you pair that with how often he pushes the ball downfield, it is mindboggling. He’s been playing a different way and at a different level than any QB in history.
He's good enough to un-bungle the Bengals.
He's going to be great and own us for 10-15 but he's still pretty likeable.
The Bengals don't bother me anywhere to the level of Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
Whoa slow down now.
I bet he’s going to be one of the best QBs in the NFL eventually but he won’t be this order of magnitude better. In hindsight we’ll see that pairing him with this set of receivers was just unfair. They’re all going to be good to great pros too.
Yes and it's amazing how open his receivers are.
Good thing he will get to go learn from known QB guru Zac Taylor
