Don't forget signing a major deal with the best club in the EPL. At least there is a glimmer of good news.
Interesting article in NYT about how OCFC owner is giving out green cards for $500K investment in the stadium and that is how the stadium is being funded privately. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/17/sports/soccer/orlando-soccer-stadium-foreign-investors-visas.html
Meh. Already had a partnership with you guys. Also it is one way deal that does not really benefit us much but gives you guys a profile here in the states.
I'm a big believer in Winter is our biggest threat. Rarely does he not contribute to a match when allowed to. Explain it. Someone fucking explain why our best midfielder is not allowed to play. And throw in a bonus explanation of why Rivas does not start.
Ideal lineup at this point: BigDickBendik Ramos Redding Mateos Boden Winter Carrasco Rivas Larin Baptista (false 9) Kaka
4th round draw of Open Cup was made. City will play the winner of Villages SC and Jacksonville. City would travel to Jacksonville. It is a TBD if Villages win. now on to the rage part of today. MLS Salary info has been released. No surprise that Kaka is the highest paid player. Nocerino is on 600k. Alston is on 130k. Rochez is a sweet hit at 180k. Love seeing 900k tied up in 3 useless turds. The 3rd highest wages in the league. https://www.mlsplayers.org/images/May 15, 2016 Salary Information - By Club.pdf
Hey we won and actually look like we cared too. They should just go ahead and rename the MOTM to Man not named Joe Bendik of the Match. Also lol at NYCFC.
I was impressed last night. Really thought the recent run of form would have scared off the casuals. 34k announced and that is probably pretty close as the only section(s) that were not clearly full were the club/corporate sections.
Paul Tenorio @PaulTenorio Loved this from Jim Curtin on Orlando: “For Disney World being there, their fans can be…they get after you pretty good. To their credit.”
My apologies. I wanted to make it clear that I hated Avila. I was proven right when he signed with the Rowdies Side note: who names the club Rowdies? Oh yeah Joe Cole is there too
Dionton Texiera is signing with OC on July 4th. Coming from Stoke... I think he has maybe 1 total appearance in the last 2 years (a cup match).
Drove by the new stadium. It is going to be a massive improvement on the big outhouse. The pitch is really sunk below street level. Also the north end with safe standing will be something to see. Another must win tonight.
Hopefully Stoke is paying his wages. Probably not since we are absolutely clueless in terms of playing staff and on pitch production.
So the friendly against Stoke is in Melbourne....... Lol Iam not going to that shit. No one wants to drive there on a Wednesday. Terrible decision by the club.
Orlando City starting XI: Bendik; Shea, Mateos, Redding, Alston; Carrasco, Higuita; Rivas, Kaká, Winter; Larin Redding and Alston in for Hines and Ramos.
Yeah. Big fan of a sunken pitch. What did Kaka do to get the yellow? Was thinking elbow or arm to face but no replay in stadium
Kaka has gotten a bit of nasty streak in him recently. So we are properly fucked on Sunday. No Mateos and Higuita. So that can only mean the return of Nocerino and maybe Luke at CB or bring up some from OCB.
Kaka called into Brazil squad for Copa America....... Spoiler fucking hell. No doubt he is going to get hurt
No kaka or any of our regular midfield. Heath fucking started. Fall down 2 goals. Steal a point before 3 weeks. I'll take it.
Beat Jacksonville last night on a Mateos header 1-0 to advance in the Cup. Will play at home against Ft Lauderdale in the next round. Here is what the club have planned for Saturday and in the future. Patches will be worn on the shirt along with a special shirt for the walkout. The match will be stopped in the 49th minute to observe a moment of silence. The Orlando United shirts will be available at the stadium along with the matchday poster. A commemorative section of Saturday’s match will be blocked out and dedicated to each victim The new stadium will have a permanent memorial. Section 12 will have 49 rainbow seats. Saturday night is going to be tough on the emotions.
Hopefully they sell the poster online. I want it for my office. Don't even care what my Catholic employer thinks about it.
OJ on regular espn and college world series is on ESPN2 at 8. Sportscenter is on before the CWS game. I bet they show some of the pre match stuff including the anthem.
Why does my prisim guide say channel 27 is showing the good wife and not the game? Am I missing something?
Yes I'd love to be there but....6 kids keeps me tied down. Best I can get is a few uninterrupted stretches of the match on the tv machine. Game is on though. We look good just can't get a shot on frame. Should be up.
Very weird feel in the stadium. Hard to describe in words. The 49th minute is going to be tough to make it through. Pre match was a big ball of emotions.
What a gut punch. Literal last kick of the game and nearly a full minute after extra time was supposed to end.
1st half was very choppy. You could tell the guys were pushing and looked very tense. Much better look in the 2nd half. A couple of defensive breakdowns and we got punished. No issue with the time added on at the end of stoppage time. Julio scored in stoppage time and that celebration added at least another minute or more. Just need to clear the ball from the box and could not do it.
