He's a good player and I would rate him above Wilshere/Ramsey but that is a lot of money for a guy who still isn't going to be the true defensive midfielder that team needs. If Ngolo Kante really wants Arsenal move and they don't sign him now because of xhaka they will be winning that non-champions champions league trophy again next year
Lukaku's dad Roger says that Romelu wants to go to Manchester United or Bayern Munich. He's always going on and on about wanting to play in the champions league and I'm not sure Everton would sell him to United in the first place.
If slide tackles and breaking up play are all that matters then yes, Kante is significantly better than Xhaka or anyone in the world. Teams park the bus on us in over 50% of our league games, need someone elite at building from deep and why we're paying so much for Xhaka. We already have a mediocre passer that breaks up play well in Coquelin.
Hasn't only having one player capable of playing a certain role been one of Arsenal's bigger problems recently? Injuries are pretty much a given for whatever reason for you guys.
Our problem at DM last year was we only had 1 even half capable DM and he got injured for 3-4 months. Flamini was terrible and trusting Arteta was just ridiculous. Xhaka, Elneny, and Coquelin is plenty although I suppose Coquelin will now assume Flamini's role of village idiot when he does play.
I would check out of my day job too if I lucked into a mountain of cash like Flamini supposedly did. I haven't heard any kind of follow up on that story in a while.
Neither he or Niklas Bendtner have to worry about their finances for the rest of their lives. Bendtner makes more per week off of his killer bracelet line than he does playing football.
Bendter seems like the kind of douche that would make 500k for making an appearance where all he does is play music off of a laptop and wave his arms in the air.
I was speaking before the 99% income tax in Denmark. Somebody has to pay for all those bicycles in Copenhagen.
Ran into him few years back in london, was shocked by how polite he was. Must've been a blue moon out or some shit.
In my most recent FIFA career mode, after downloading the most recent roster I put Bendtner on some random team in the Championship because he was listed as a free agent and like three years in his rating was in the high 80's and he had earned "The Complete Forward" badge. Somone or something out there still thinks he will turn things around.
One of the papers is claiming Arsenal lead the race to sign Moussa Sissoko, said the price was around 10mil
based on youtube scouting, I think he's a nice fit. If we add Kante too, that turns a weakness into a strength and would add all sorts of flexibility to the lineup.
Interesting side note on Granit Xhaka. He has a brother who also plays the fut, named Taulant. Taulant decided to play internationally for Albania. They are both in Group A and will be the first brothers to play against each other in the Euros.
Stoke are all-in on Berahino (20m) and Redmond (5-6m) to bring in homegrown players. Fun fact: I didn't know Berahino was English until today. Other fun fact: He and I share a birthday.
Got to give stoke credit they are spending money to make sure they stay in the EPL. Too many teams get complacent and it costs them. That said I'm not sold on berahino and never have been
Stoke haven't exactly nailed every signing but there is some intent. Newcastle always sign a bunch of French dudes and 1 out of 5 are good and sold for profit and the others just sit on their bench.
Sounds like xhaka is £35m. Seems like a lot to me but that is probably an indication of what the cost of doing business will look like this summer
who do you see leaving? I assume that xhaka, ozil, cazorla, wilshere and ramsey all dont stay. Xhaka and Ozil are locks so do you see 1 or 2 of those others leaving?
I don't see any of the four you mentioned leaving. Arsenal lost 3 bodies in the midfield already and Ramsey and Wilshere will also play in wide positions.
Fifa legend Viktor Fischer to Boro. Also rumours that Gotze turned down Liverpool after speaking to Ancelotti.
