It’s time for Ferentz to go and for Iowa to bring Bret home to get out of this mess
https://www.freep.com/story/news/ed...niversity-most-rapes-clery-report/3848219002/ your out here setting rape records.
Not clicking links, I’m guessing both Sparty & Iowa both suck
Abhorrent. I acknowledge this and want all guilty held accountable.
I do not deny it happened like you do. Your shameful attitude is a perfect example of why we can't stomp out rape culture.
Do you want me to post a um link as well?
When did I deny it every happened? When the Pierce thing happened most everyone I knew wanted him gone and then Alford fucked it up even worse.
The University learned from that and when the Everson (detroit) and Satterfield rape happened they were gone shortly after the cops got all the facts. Also there was found to be no cover up. So yes we've had our fair share of sexual assault problems but we learned and brought the hammer down from then on, you guys just cover it up and let them play the seasons out and deal with it once they leave.
Great page we have going here
He started it.
This is the post where you deny it happened:
So was this Doyle racist or just an asshole to everyone?
Both, some other players have spoke out that he rode them hard in the weight room too but he was also supportive once they accomplished the task. It’s hard to guess what’s going to happen, most guys have come out and said they were victims of racism but don’t want these guys to be fired they just want change. From what I’ve read is that Kirk is starting a committee headed by Mike Daniels and some other former and current players to help deal with this. Some former players are even flying back to Iowa City this week to help and talk with coaches and get this shit straightened out.
Yikes from the Iowa base
Ferentz benched Wadley in the 1st quarter of a game because he did this on a 74 yard td reception
Pretty sure Wadley was flagged on that play and the touchdown called back bc of it.
Besides that though, Ferentz did treat Wadley unfairly for other reasons.
Wow. Look at that thug!
That is not an unreasonable ask when you consider how pervasive hat culture brought down the Nebraska dynasty.
Wasn’t Spielman a decent player? What is Frost doing?
fuck kirk ferentz
Mother fucking Yikes #Iowa Hawkeyes
good lord. What a massive piece of shit
I’m by no means a major Kirk Ferentz supporter but a lot of you must not remember/know the whole story DJK. Any other player says stuff I believe it. Not so much him.
I don’t doubt that some of what DJK said in that article is true but a lot of it I’m sure is bullshit. He’s had a vendetta against Iowa every since he got kicked off the team following him house being busted and exposed as being one of the bigger drug houses in Iowa City.
A few things for people not familiar with DJK and Rob Howe, the person that published this piece.
1. At least 60% of the exaggerated allegations made in that post have been proven and reported to be false dating back to at least 2013.
2. The publisher/guy that posted that piece is a hack and laughed at by the fan base and other media members. Pure click bait artist.
3. It was only a matter of time before DJK spoke out. Iowa fans were waiting for this.
4. No one, not even former teammates take DJK seriously. Blatant lies and half truths going back to his arrest and expulsion way back in the day.
5. Ferentz has clearly made some mistakes and Chris Doyle should lose his job. But not based off of comments from a former player who’s had an axe to grind since 2010.
6. I would not be surprised if there’s a defamation lawsuit coming due to this piece of “journalism”
That said this all is a very bad look for the program and it’s beyond obvious that a lot needs to change. Chris Doyle for as great as he is at his job needs to go. Ferentz, despite what has been a pretty great track record of being one of college footballs good guys, also needs a long hard look. Embarrassing and unacceptable to allow these things to go on and it starts at the top with him.
What exactly happened for DJK to get kicked off the team. He lived in a house with a guy who sold weed?
Way, way more than just weed. Cops found large amounts of coke and prescription drugs in the house. Felony level amounts. DJK and his roommates were known all over campus as the drug dudes. He didn’t hang out with other athletes at the bars and football players distanced themselves from him.
I believe the stories from other players, Chris Doyle is a dick and Ferentz runs an extremely tight ship. But none of these allegations from DJK are new or surprising to Iowa fans.
Acknowledged. I will admit that reading that story blind going in, I was all WTF. That being said, if even 1/4 of the stuff DJK claimed is true prior to his dismissal...That’s still really shitty
For example, the trash can story is already very well known in Iowa lore. Teammates have corroborated and done the same punishment, except the real truth is they have to carry it. DJK made a joke out of it and put it on his own head.
Like I said earlier, KF runs an extremely tight ship and DJK loved the attention and pushed the limits in regards to the rules. It’s almost like he enjoyed pushing boundaries and riling the fan base up. There are rules about dress and attire while giving interviews and going into the weight room, he constantly broke those. There are consequences when rules are broken.
I guess the best way to put it is like this. Iowa doesn’t have the population base and isn’t located close enough to major cities to attract the type of athletes to consistently beat OSU, PSU, and Michigan (even though we’ve won 5/6). In order to be competitive and make up for that disadvantage, there has to be some type of edge in discipline, almost similar to a military academy. Iowa has the mottos “tough, smart, physical” and “preparing to be the best” branded all over their facilities. Basically, we’re not going to out athlete you but we’re going to make less mistakes (penalties, turnovers), play assignment sound football, and be extremely physical in the front seven on both sides of the ball.
I’m not saying the actions and words taken by the strength coach are right or acceptable. This is just background into those actions.
Site is broken, but I can imagine what it said and I agree. That’s what sparked my fuck Ferentz attitude.
You guys realize that we’d sign more ‘urban talent’ with a new regime, right? Ferentz and co are the reason we go the fifth-year-senior farm kid route.
Well, America does need farmers...
Look out Alabama
Yeah I believe everyone else’s stories and accounts but I’m guessing 10% of what he wrote is true. People have already dug up past quotes and articles where he praises KF and the Iowa program to the point where it’s just not lip service. Our program needs to change but not because of what DJK says.
Sounds like we dodged a bullet when we passed on Kirk Ferentz and hired Rich Rodriguez.
I'm hearing that 100% of the boy's stories are true. Very sad. We need to ban all the Iowa posters until we can figure out what's going on.
My bad....5 of the last 7. I’m still trying to forget about the offensively failure in Ann Arbor last fall.
If I'm not mistaken I don't think we had discovered Goodson to be our #1 RB yet, it seemed that once he got the bulk of the carries our offense came alive a little more. That and Michigan still had a pretty good defense, and we were on the road. That was one of those games if we play at kinnick we win a low scoring game.
Kirk Ferentz when a black player doesnt make eye contact
I mean you're technically right but you're back to RR to get those lol. But I digress, because no one cares and Corch is going have an aneurysm.
. My bad we forgot to include OSU in our discussion. We still recognize you as our overlords but 55-24.
This sounds like WAY more than a tight ship
Tight enough to punt from the opponents 35 yard line?
