The allegations about the Provo police department during this Retzlaff situation is fucking dark. https://www.sltrib.com/sports/byu-cougars/2025/05/21/byu-quarterback-jake-retzlaff/||
I wonder if unionization across college football is even possible given that some states either prohibit or severely curtail public sector unions among state employees.
pro sports are unionized across numerous states and localities; so I would assume college sports can get there too
Some states prohibit public sector state employees from collective bargaining. If a football player sharing revenue at South Carolina is deemed a state employee, for example, they may be prohibited.
maybe the NCAA spins off a NewCo that all who opt in to the House agree. this in turn is a private company and the athletes are employees of the NewCo instead of state employees. each team is then a division of NewCo with budgets that roll up to the RevShare Cap one way or the other they'll figure out, if they actually want to
The more I think about it, the more frustrated I am that they attempted to give him a seven-game suspension. Jamaal Williams got a full season, and there was no lawsuit for his...
The difference is absurd. The standard at BYU for any sex-related honor violation was a season suspension, even when consensual, which Retzlauff’s is credibly alleged not to be. This seven game suspension would have cleared him just before the Utah game. It's just so greasy and gross.
pretty wild to think, the last time RichRod was the coach of WVU: -Dabo was still a year plus away from taking over Clemson -Saban was in year 1 at Bama -Jimbo was in year 1 as OC at FSU -App St was about to shock the CFB world in Ann Arbor -2007 produced the craziest single season any of us have ever seen
watching Beamer fuck up yet another chance at a title. cartoonish buffoonery from that man anytime a game actually mattered.
Every week was chaos. Teams were coming out of nowhere and then ranked top 5 and then would lose. It was glorious.
How does a player hop in the transfer portal in July when the portal window has been closed for 2.5 months?
Pretty crazy that the big 10 has 3 teams with double digit win projections and no other conference has 1. A real murderer's row they have
I do take solace in knowing that the only thing that stood between us and 10 wins last year was being in the ACC
#Florida State Seminoles how are you feeling about the stadium reno? It looks like they turned some of the best sideline seats into luxury boxes.
I rarely go these days so I don’t care but FSU needs to get more money out of the good seats. Too many people paying almost nothing and sitting on the best seats bc their grandpa bought them in 1976 and passed them down. Only a few years ago there were people paying like $325 a seat for season tickets plus a $300 booster donation sitting on the 50 like 15 rows up.
I guess I’ll have to see it in person but it doesn’t look great. I haven’t been up there since I had kids but I may make the trek now that the boy is getting order.
