Their Summer School guy sad they tried to get Rick Trickett to be the OL Coach. Said he turned it down because he didn’t want to deal with play for money in major programs.
I'm starved enough for CFB that I've been listening to Bud Elliotts mini pods w random home site publishers as a primer for their teams. I forgot that former husks and brewers legend Monte Harrison is on the Razorbacks. 30 year old college WR. Incredible.
Still on the Arkansas pod. When asked about the schedule the first thing the guy does is whine about Missouri's Our slaw posters make much more sense now
I could drop a team sheet starting at 50 down to 1 each day until week 0 if there is an interest in that sort of thing lol example, we are 53 days away, #53 is Memphis Spoiler: the breakdown high level; rank, talent acq rank for 2022-25, projected rec, projected conf rec then their SoS with expected rec for a top 15 caliber team vs said schedule
I don’t particularly like them but I don’t have time to read Phil Steele, etc. anymore. I actually don’t like any of the Cover 3 guys but they are somehow one of the better national pods.
I listen to way too many CFB podcasts, but Cover 3 is my favorite. I yell at the screen far less during that hour than most lol
I agree. I dont like any of them particularly. But they all work together somehow. Cover 3 and SZD are my national podcasts
can't wait for a fan to fight a player....it's absolutely gonna happen at some point when this team is down 4 scores in the 4th
They're gonna start a $500million renovation of The Swamp in the next year or two and I'm worried they're gonna do something like that (and just stupid stuff no one wants in general).
Stuff like Bud’s Summer School series and SZD give me a much more holistic view of the sport. Like, SZD has taught me that migration out of the Midwest and the enrollment cliff are going to royally fuck the MAC such that some (Kent State, Akron) probably won’t be playing FBS football in ten years
Yes. The Champions club is awesome inside… but the seats are such a waste because nobody sits in them and makes the stadium look empty even in bigger games
They’re supposedly fixing that though where you will not be able to see the game from inside. i’ll never understand sitting inside and drinking at the bar during the game. I was just at the Metallica concerts in Denver. My seats were club level. I ran inside to take a piss during a song I didn’t know and there’s probably a couple hundred people sitting inside having drinks at the bar.
2 Super Bowl rings for dad and 1, likely 2-3, cfb playoff champ rings for son starting in 2025 season.
Yes, you may live in the poorest state in the country and have had multiple family members’ lives shortened by mining-related accidents/conditions, but look how shiny our new/old helmets are!
that is a huge running back jokes aside, knees inside, flat tires all over his body, watching his dad working out without doing shit bust
SZD > cover 3. Between Kanell’s awful takes, the cartoon-character that Chip plays (his voice is beyond irritating) and the fact that they rarely cover anything dealing with a program outside of the 20 biggest brands (+ Illinois because Fornelli is a shameless homer, and I respect it) it’s completely fallen off as a listen for me.
SZD > cover 3. Between Kanell’s awful takes, Chip’s cartoon-character act (his voice is beyond irritating) and the fact that they rarely discuss anything having to do with CFB outside of the 20 or so biggest brands, has them as a long roadtrip/emergency only listen. in terms of CFB pods, I’d also put Kings of the North ahead of cover 3. Also would listen to almost any of the pod I follow before those clowns.
inevitable, happens in every pro sports. Now an above the table reason to max revenue streams. if the Yankees and Real Madrid can do it, then so can CFB.
Szd is only viable if you only care about the sec and gossippy coach stories (I do like those though). I don't really even follow football much outside of fsu and can tell when they get basic stuff wrong on other teams. Cover 3 guys at least hit everything below surface level
Currently trying to think of a way for them to get to six wins. That last month stretch looks like a rough ride.
Right. Their entire schtick is following the non-p2 more than anywhere else. Just look at the titles on their feed - numerous G5 episodes.
