we are gonna play golf and he’s gonna get taken for so much money that he’ll only be able to afford those
Underrated ITT: Asheville Pizza Co. The pizza is great and the house beers are good af. I had Perfect Day IPA and Perfect Night Black IPA this time and both were outstanding. Also tried out the new Zilicoah Brewery a little north of downtown. Good beers and awesome spot by the French Broad River. Burial was outstanding as usual. More hot chicks than moms which is a plus for a brewery. Got shrimp and avocado toast from their food window; recommend. All that was Friday. Did Oskar Blues today after emerging from the woods. Had cheeseburger and a Blue Dream IPA. They had some Ten Fidy Mocha Java tallboys in stock and my buddy bought 3 cans for $15 apiece
asheville pizza makes their food with shards of glass. used to live across from one and it was so good but felt like my stomach was bleeding the next morning. thought it may just be me but a buddy came up and had the same issue. still will eat it tho
The rooms at downtown inn and suites smell like bleach but it’s such a good value. $160 a night right in the middle of downtown and it’s even got a pool and free breakfast
i don’t live downtown so can’t say for sure. lots of stuff on merimon and west asheville is coming up for sure you moving here?
There are cheaper airbnbs. It's getting there. New restaurants are coming up and the people are cool. Work in progress though
They threw up some new apt building since last time I was there right across from the bus station. Always a nice selection of rough looking bus riders hanging right outside your front door
Yeah. They're rare and not a lot, but we take the dogs and stay for like 130ish a night at airbnbs right on grove street
Heading up to asheville this weekend with the wife any must do restaurants/bars/breweries? Looking to do some hiking and probably check out the glass sculptures at the biltmore. What else should be on our itinerary. Any particularly good hiking areas around?
i live near the other one in south asheville. when i first moved up here i asked my old boss about it. he very angrily said it was the best bbq in town but he would never go again bc they gave the obamas free food normal guy
You’re close to my in-laws. River Arts is probably a few years away but they’ve already added a neat brewery behind 12 Bones and that coffee house is p good.
Walked around the RAD last week. Wife bought a bracelet. Was lucky that was all she got. Cool area would peruse again
Oh man, now I'm triggered thinking about trying to turn onto right Hendersonville Rd from Mills Gap. Thanks a lot, Tobias
I still havent been to 12 Bones. Whenever I ask about it I seem to get mixed reviews. Can I get a verdict once and for all?
It’s worthwhile. It’s not the best BBQ in North Carolina (that distinction goes to Honey Monk’s Lexington BBQ), but it’s very good. Nice smoke, homemade sauces, and good sides.
Yeah that's similar to the evals we get for BBQ in Charlotte. Top tier spots seem to be outside the big metros ...
You're very fortunate. I'd kill for some right now. Goat hush puppies and the only slaw I will formally recognize
I’d hit it up whenever I had company come to town or a case in Davidson County but work catered it around 4 out of every 5 events too. I think they’ve got even smokier within the last 2 years or so—it’s basically a BBQ foodgasm at this point. That spicy sauce they leave on the tables and sell at the counter is straight fire. If you ever see it at your local grocer do yourself a favor and buy every bottle in stock.
BBQ discussions are one of the few topics that are better on homeboards than TMB. These sumbitches on Gamecock Central know every hole in the wall in North or South Carolina
