Hmm, maybe I should give it another shot. Stuff was burnt when I was there last ...
Anyone here have experience in Waynesville? I'll be staying there for 5 nights while the WSOP is at Cherokee ...
i've never understood the Lexington BBQ hype
that place is trash
Yea really enjoyed it the one time I went there.
The okra fries were kind of disgusting. Burnt, charcoal bits off the grill all over em. Pulled pork was fine, but nothing noteworthy. I do see a lot more positive Yelp reviews that have come in recently, so will have to swing by the next time I'm in town ...
I got brisket, was quite juicy and flavorful.
Ha ha ha fiction can be fun
the brisket sandwich with the apple jam is just delightful
the downtown is nice. a few breweries, restaurants, and shops.
Any recs on how to do the biltmore?
Yeah it seemed like there was actually a lot of food/drink spots close to the hotel I booked. And it's a bit closer to the casino, normally I'll stay in Asheville when I'm playing. Driven through the valley plenty of times but haven't stayed over yet ...
Can you still catch an Uber from there to downtown Asheville?
it’s probably a little far for that. unless you kill it at harrah’s
That's the plan
all of those little towns that way have something, a restaurant or brewery that is different/good.
Yeah normally I'm just driving Asheville to Cherokee. Will be in Waynesville for 5 nights so gonna try to see some stuff that I normally blow by. I did stop at some random steakhouse in Maggie Valley my last time through that was p good ...
I'm in asheville again, fuck bois. Let us meet and drink. I also brought my pugs.
stay till next weekend for oscar blues burning can.
I will be in asheville again next weekend for an interview
praying this break in the rain holds. have a tee time with a buddy tomorrow morning
What's this now?
they list all the breweries here better than oscar blues site does. parking is free and the brewery has a shuttle to and from.
Is there a list of the dog friendly breweries in Asheville? Or is it safe to assume that pretty much all of them are OK with dogs?
I always just go to UpCountry Brewing in WAVL cause I'm familiar with it and they're real nice to my pup. Charlotte has started to clamp down a lot on dogs in the tap room ...
Safe to assume your dog is welcome
Sucks that Charlotte is gettin real finicky about it ...
Just got to town, had 12 bones. Big fan. At New Belgium, this place is nice new and shiny.
What are some killer breakfast places around town?
Over easy, sunny point, biscuit head
I thought you were a Charleston guy?
I am from Charleston. We visit Asheville a decent amount.
Early Girl is also good
I'll throw one out for King Daddy's. Less of a wait than Biscuit Head/Sunny Point and still quite good ...
Over easy is my personal favorite, but I admittedly usually skip breakfast and head straight for lunch time booze and food
i liked biscuit head but usually i just do this as well in my day to day life
sunny point is easily the best
Motherfucker gan shan station has Khao soi on tonight. Why am I not there
why arent you?
Because I'm elsewhere
I need a motorized scooter for these damn hills.
They’re called roller blades
The rolling flint hills, son
what part of town are you at
South slope right now. Hi wire brewery
how is the weather
need the rain to hold off for a few more hours and then the forecast opens up for the next day or so
Partly cloudy and breezy
storm blowing in from the south hope it peters out
At burial now, place is pretty sweet. First beer I have isn’t fantastic but ok
I'm right up the street at twin leaf
