I don’t think there is a version of the Two Sisters murder ballad from anyone that I don’t like. Apt cover for the weather.
That weather absolutely sucked - I ended up leaving after Fire On My Tongue because I was so uncomfortably wet and cold I couldn’t enjoy the music Missed Ole Slew Foot and Away From the Mire but still 2 more nights of heat to go
So, even if I get a nugs account and monthly subscription, I still have to pay to watch the live stream of the show tonight?

Took my 16 yo daughter to see Billy in Norfolk last night. He and his guitar just melted together the beginning of the 2nd set. Just ridiculously good. Being in Norfolk and bookending the 1st set with Trains was chef's kiss.
They kill all the Bad Livers covers. Would like to hear them do Death Trip. They did Lumpy, Beanpole and Dirt in Cary. I love that album version with the tuba. The Cary run was phenomenal. Running out of things to say about them really.
Molly’s new album. Pretty good on first listen, but has a little odd flow for me. Might flow better when I relisten. She still has some pop vibes in there but that’s her style. Next Rodeo could be a pop country song. My favorites were San Joaquin Alice in the Bluegrass Stranger Things Down Home Dispensary
San Bush and David Grisman will be inducted into the IBMA Hall of Fame this year. Hopefully that means they’ll be there.
Yonder, Railroad Earth, and Leftover Salmon are on the nugs streams tonight. All of Billy’s summer tour soundboards are finally up too.
Yonder played a small 2,500 seat theater in Cincy last night but I missed it. Haven’t listened yet, obviously.
Going to tune in to see what they sound like without Allie. I assume they are back to a 4 piece right now, and not sure if they’re adding a fiddle back in or not. She was fantastic but I thought a lot of times overpowered them and stole the show. The couple times I saw them with her she was the crowd pleaser. I thought Yonder was going to be at Brew Ridge Jam in Asheville in Oct with Leftover, but it’s Kitchen Dwellers, Fireside Collective, and Arkansause.

Powerful voice and I was bobbing my head, but the first one is a chud anthem. Taxes, govt control, welfare. “It touches base on human trafficking and the atrocities,” he said. People hyping it: Joe Rogan, Matt Walsh, Dan Bongino, Texags, all the people in my hometown that never left.
Where did this Oliver Anthony shit come from? Was he on Fox News or something? He’s everywhere today and his music is god awful
He had the sound I like.. then I listened to what he was saying and now I block anything I see posting that garbage
I heard some lyric about fat ppl and cupcakes and immediately turned it off. Don’t need that negativity in my life. hard pass
Right. It's so obvious what's going on here. They (I'm not sure exactly who "they" is yet, but I'm going to bet it comes out eventually) found some guy who had the look they wanted -- bearded heavy drinking overweight white guy with gravy and semen stains on the front of his shirt -- who can sing a little and play at least 4 cowboy chords on guitar, and handed him some lyrics over a song that starts out over a minor chord (Gmi Aeolian I think) Professionally filmed and mixed a video for him that used a handheld camera that crops him just right and then all of a sudden all these right wing influencers and youtube accounts are pumping the song which very conveniently blames welfare recipients (for what? having a poor diet or something?) for the suicide rate of young (presumably white) men.
It blames poor people for being poor in a song ostensibly about how rich people in DC (aka libs) are keeping the working man (pubs) down. Makes total sense.
Jarrods Brother Cory Walker has a solo album in the works. Has Tim O’Brien and Sierra Ferrell on it so far. He’s a really good banjo player and East Nash Grass are good if you haven’t checked them out. He also plays with Tim’s band.
every right wing dipshit on the internet anointed him in unison as someone who just "came out of nowhere" online. Just seems like textbooks astroterfing.
