That overhand right and his jab were landing at will all fight long. Chavez disgraced his pedigrees good name tonight. SC nailed it: Sr. is no doubt ashamed at his son's performance tonight. So much so, that if I were him I'd go home and immediately ask my wife who she cheated on me with all those years ago to produce such an embarrassment and then proceed to get a DNA paternity test done to confirm my suspicions.
Until Conor naps him with a straight left and the boxing world turns to ashes in RoyalShocker 's mouth.
Nothing finalized yet I don't think. Would be at T-Moble if it's in Vegas. Kind of hope it's at Jerry's World.
thank god they didn't say sometime in Fall or next Spring, etc. I am excite. I wonder how this will do compared to Pac and Floyd?
Makes sense. Canelo's big business in Texas, GGG is beloved at MSG/NY, but T-Mobile just seems the best fit for everyone.
Am I the only one that hates TMobile? The arena just sounds and feels flat on television compared to MGM and MSG. That's a bummer because the atmosphere is one of the best parts about big fight nights. Chavez Jr. needs to retire obviously. He got his last big pay day over the weekend, and it's clear that his desire and heart are not inside the ring... He used to walk through punches and throw bombs, on Saturday he walked through punches and wouldn't throw. Just completely outclassed by Canelo. It's amazing that Mayweather completely outclassed Canelo and yet people like Don't Hate Me Bro! insist that Rousey would defeat him smh. Can't wait to see the GGG fight. Golovkin is going to need to use that jab of his to throw Canelo off of his game.
I means thats a CFB night (I'll be in LA attending Texas@USC that day) but I would really have been interested in attending this fight.
TMobile is awesome in person. If you're in the lower bowl, there's video boards on the under side at an angle so you don't have to crane your neck up to see replays. I've been to 2 boxing and one MMA fight there and also 2 boxing at MGM and I didn't notice any drop in atmosphere at TMobile. Likely is as simple as mic placement for the TV broadcast. I shouldn't ever be shocked about being underwhelmed with Chavez, but for him to work hard enough to make weight and to give that performance for the Mexican fans was pretty surprising. With Canelo looking stronger than ever and GGG getting tagged by Brook and not being able to finish Jacobs, the hype will be insane. Oscar played it to perfection.
I sort of thought GGG head hunted last fight and never seemed worried. Not to mention the amount of time these 2 have to prepare. Going to be great.
He was also in the ring with someone that was about 25 pounds heavier than him, but Canelo will probably weigh more in their fight too.
I think everybody agrees that Chavez didn't show up to fight. I know I expected a lot more out of him.
After a meeting between Magic Johnson and Oscar De La Hoya, Dodger Stadium is the "early frontrunner" to host Canelo-GGG, per Oscar. Other venues interested are AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys), T-Mobile Arena (Vegas), Madison Square Garden (NYC) and Wembley Stadium (London). http://www.latimes.com/sports/boxin...c-johnson-canelo-golovkin-20170513-story.html
I guess they found it after. Look at the video with all the strippers in his room http://www.totalprosports.com/2017/...e-was-partying-with-after-canelo-fight-video/
LA and NYC. He has sold out The Forum and Madison Square Garden. It doesn't really matter, though, Canelo can sell out any venue in the country. I would like for it to be at MSG.
Plenty of action tonight. Crawford the big name, obviously. SHO, 6:00 pm ET, Gary Russell Jr vs Oscar Escandon, Andre Dirrell vs Jose Uzcategui, Rances Barthelemy vs Kiryl Relikh, Gervonta Davis vs Liam Walsh. Early start! This is a big block of TV set for 6-10 pm ET on SHO, with Davis-Walsh from the UK and the rest of the fights in Maryland. The good news is this won’t go head-to-head with the HBO broadcast on the same night. FS1, 10:00 pm ET, David Benavidez vs Rogelio Medina, Jorge Lara vs Mario Briones. Benavidez-Medina is an interesting matchup — if Benavidez is too hung up on his power, veteran tough guy Medina could take him into deeper waters than he’s prepared for at this point. Lara-Briones is a standard co-feature for this type of show. If for some reason you’re a PBC loyalist, you can in theory watch the SHO fights and this card without watching evil Top Rank on HBO. HBO, 10:15 pm ET, Terence Crawford vs Felix Diaz Jr, Ray Beltran vs Jonathan Maicelo. Not exactly what anyone was hoping for from Crawford’s next fight after his last one, but it’s a decent opponent. Diaz can fight. The actual problem Crawford has at 140 is that he’s already the division’s clear ruler and there’s just not that much by way of truly interesting challenges for him. He wants to unify the division, but politically that’s going to be really hard. Beltran-Maicelo is pretty substandard for an HBO co-feature.
It was really hard to tell Andre Dirrell and company were douchebags after the graceful way they exited the Super 6, oh wait.......
