FOX, 8:00 pm ET, Caleb Plant vs Caleb Truax. Plant will be defending his IBF super middleweight title here, heavily favored to hang on to the strap, which is big for him beyond just making a title defense, as he would stay in the mix for a super fight later this year with Canelo Alvarez if things keep going well for both of them. Alvarez wants to fully unify at 168. He’s got two belts (WBC and WBA), he may have a deal to face Billy Joe Saunders (WBO) in May, and that would leave Plant and the IBF if Canelo beats Billy Joe. So yeah, there’s a ton on the line here for Plant past the obvious. Truax is a former titlist but at 37 is past his very best days. He’s the kind of guy who can grind one out if the opponent isn’t dialed in, but you should expect Plant to be taking this fight extremely seriously. The undercard will feature heavyweights Michael Coffie and Darmani Rock squaring off, plus junior middleweight prospect Joey Spencer
God damnit is there a card right now? SC explain yourself and not updating the title BTW I’m a little drunk so yeah

Two cards tonight. One great main event, the other features Adrien Broner. SHO, 9:00 pm ET, Adrien Broner vs Jovanie Santiago, Otto Wallin vs Dominic Breazeale, Robert Easter Jr vs Ryan Martin. Broner's still plenty young enough with more than enough name value to make some more good money in more big fights. But he has to win here, and honestly, it’s not just big names or top fighters Broner has struggled against over the years. Wallin-Breazeale is a good heavyweight scrap as the two fight for relevance and to keep a chance at a title shot alive. Easter is a former titleist at 135, and both he and Martin — who was badly beaten by Josh Taylor in the WBSS tournament in 2018 last basically anyone saw him — really need a win. Broner, 31, is the favorite here, but we’ll have to see what the former four-division titleholder will have in the ring once the bell sounds. The 31-year-old Santiago is basically a complete unknown, with nothing particularly notable on his record. This is a sink-or-swim for him.
ESPN and ESPN+, 10:00 pm ET, Miguel Berchelt vs Oscar Valdez, Gabriel Flores Jr vs Jayson Velez. It seems this will be a simulcast between ESPN and ESPN+, or at least the Spanish language broadcast will be available on ESPN+, too. Berchelt-Valdez, of course, has potential to be an absolute war, and is the No. 1 most anticipated fight for the month. Valdez has tried to box more, but Berchelt is not going to go out there and see who has the better jab for half an hour, either. At some point, this is going to pop off. Flores-Velez is a good test for Flores, Velez is a fine gatekeeper. Berchelt, 29, is a solid but not overwhelming favorite this evening, and Valdez, 30, is a hard-charging warrior at his best, someone who is capable of bringing the sort of heat that Berchelt hasn’t faced in quite a while, probably since winning the title from Francisco Vargas in 2017. There are questions on both sides here, though frankly mostly on Valdez, which is why he’s the underdog. But this is a great fight on paper; even if you think there’s a clear favorite, the chances for this to be a serious war are far, far higher than the average fight.
Breazeale should have to wait a long time for another title shot. Dude got beaten to death by AJ and everyone knows what happened with Wilder
Alright he’s sitting up. Good. What a goddamn shot from Valdez. Be stunned if that’s not KO of the Year.
So Triller, the company that put on the Mike Tyson-RJJ fight just bid $6M+ for Teofimo's next fight. I imagine they'll win the purse bid with that and he'll fight on that platform this time around.
