Had GGG gotten the decision, they'd do a 3rd fight again anyway. Nothing really changes. Canelo's definitely the favorite due to the age factor, but we saw tonight they're still about as even as you can get.
I think the part that is most frustrating (to ggg) is that this fight should have taken place in May.
Disagree. Canelo earned that. He is a beast, but also lucky this isn’t 2014 G. We can all agree that it is 1-1 though and we need a 3rd.
This is true. It's also why I didn't understand the broadcast, Lampley especially, saying GGG was fighting for his legacy. His legacy is a should-be win draw against Canelo and a trail of destruction left through the entire middleweight division. Nothing in a Canelo fight changes that.
I think GGG won the 12th, that makes it a draw on all 3 cards and we get another fight, but it looks like we’re getting that anyways.
Okay I’ve calmed down now. What shocked me the most now is that all 3 judges had 6-3 going to the 10th
SC went to my sons girlfriend’s parents’ house to watch the fight. Had the UCLA game on my iPad so I kinda paid more attention to that. Who won? Every time I looked up I thought GGG won the round/exchange. Did I just look up at the GGG time?
Two awesome boxers in another great fight. Would definitely watch a 3rd. Not sure why GGG was "fighting to save his career", what a load of shit.
I had GGG by a round, but there were so many tossup rounds that a draw or Canelo by one are totally acceptable cards.
Eddie Hearn's DAZN streaming service announces their broadcast team: Sugar Ray Leonard and Brian Kenny calling the fights, Kay Adams and Chris Mannix at the desk/broadcast hosts, and LZ Granderson as ringside reporter. That's a quality crew. They've also got Michael Buffer exclusively. Reminder that DAZN will be the place to see Joshua-Povetkin this weekend.
part of me thinks Pac might get the best of him to an extent. But then how the hell is Floyd ready so quick? Has he been training/planning this for months? I know he "stays" in shape, but still. Also, Pac worries me because he has proven that he'll just jump in the ring whenever vs whoever, so he may not even be in full shape.
If FM wanted to be in a serious fight against a legit threat he’d fight Canelo/Bud/Spence. This is just a money grab against an over the hill Pac.
for sure, i guess I'm wanting to (unironically) discuss the actual fight. has pac's odds increased? decreased? he didn't look bad at all last fight....
It's on DAZN, which is Eddie Hearn's new streaming service that looks like is going to be putting out pretty quality fights. For tomorrow: Head to https://watch.dazn.com/en-US/sports/ and sign up. It's 9.99 a month, but your first month is a free trial so you're not going to pay anything to watch the fight tomorrow.
