Errol Spence is officially a goddamn monster. Special, special fighter. And we now know he's got a chin too.
Great fight, all the credit in the world to Brook. True Champion and fighter. Like him a lot, tougher than shit and unfortunate to have those eye injuries. Spence has been the real deal from day one, my favorite fighter in the sport :)))))
Fuck yeah Spence. It definitely pays to check out the Olympic guys each games. Feels like forever ago. Funny thing about Olympic boxing is that you don't need to see results/scoring to judge talent. Almost irrelevant. Especially considering how young the guys are. Damn, wish I could find this. I'll try to look tomorrow.
Loved Brook's corner telling him that Spence had never been past 10 and that's where they were taking him... only, Spence is the most vicious and dedicated body puncher in the sport. God bless the man that decides to go 12 with Spence, because he puts everything into every body shot. Someone will have to walk through hell to beat him. His defense and chin were impressive tonight. He was not great for the first 6 or 8 rounds, but was everything he's billed to be once they reached the deep waters.
Spence isn't ready for that jump, I don't think. Spence vs Bud at 147 within the next couple of years is far more likely, imo.
No surprise - Oscar says canelo/ggg venue down to Vegas and Dallas. Meetings and possible decision this week.
Boy, have you lost your mind? Long may Spence reign as a welterweight. Thurman, Pacquiao, Russel, Crawford at some point. There are a ton of awesome fights for him at and around 147.
Manny's got one more big fight in him. My guess is that ends up being Crawford. Will be interesting to see who Spence gets. Technically he doesn't have a promoter, though at one point he was under Al Haymon's umbrella. Don't think that's the case anymore, but not positive. Spence-Thurman seems the most likely. Also think Spence destroys Keith in that fight.
Thurman just had surgery on his shoulder, I believe, and likely won't be back in the ring for the rest of the year. I think Spence-Thurman is inevitable, but I think we see Spence-Porter first. Either way, tons of good matchups for him at 147.
Porter not having a belt might kill that. If Spence wants to collect the belts, Lamont Peterson has a WBA strap. I bet that's what we get next.
I think it's a blood bath even with an in shape, motivated Broner. Will watch, and will enjoy the carnage.
Here's what we've got tonight. Solid card. SHO, 9:00 pm ET, Adonis Stevenson vs Andrzej Fonfara, Eleider Alvarez vs Jean Pascal. A light heavyweight doubleheader from Montreal! Stevenson and Fonfara had a good fight the first time around, but there wasn’t really a ton of demand at the moment for the rematch. But “demand” has never been Stevenson’s strong suit as champ. Alvarez-Pascal is an interesting matchup; Alvarez is Stevenson’s mandatory, so if they both win, they should finally fight. We’ll see.
