Want to see AJ be aggressive here. Don’t fight timid. Get after his ass and knock him out. Don’t sit on the jab and play it safe.
See I kind of think AJ gets in the most trouble when he gets too aggressive and back burners sound technique and goes for the kill. Seems like he's gotten in trouble several times doing that like against Whyte and Ruiz in the first fight
I think there’s a middle ground AJ has to find, but he was so damn cautious last time out. He’s too skilled and talented to be so timid. Pulev is outclassed here, and a big KO would go a long way in selling AJ-Fury assuming that’s where we’re headed.
He did a good job of holding back tonight in those spots. He went for it after the two early knockdowns but he didn't push the issue when it wasn't there. He almost lost the Vlad fight punching himself out trying to hard to make it happen.
Yeah, it’s time for them to push him up a couple rungs. Fighting tomato cans does him no good at this point.
I was talking with my boys at the cigar shop and I got the perfect fight for him after looking at the rankings. Anthony Dirrell. Dirrell good enough to not get knocked out right away and take the fight longer
Favorite part of all that might have been Nakatani not knowing he was getting a belt after winning that fight.
Was watching the highlights of the Joshua fight and I thought this slip and counter by him was really good. It's what got Pulev hurt initially in round 3. Video should start at the slo-mo of it at 3:50.
Good breakdown of why it (likely?) will be Joshua-Usyk next instead of Joshua-Fury. https://www.badlefthook.com/2020/12...ype-oleksandr-usyk-mandatory-boxing-news-2020
Pulev got lucky that shot caught his shoulder first before connecting on his chin. If that one lands clean, he may be out right there.
We've got Friday evening GGG today! DAZN, 5:00 pm ET, Gennadiy Golovkin vs Kamil Szeremeta, Ali Akhmedov vs Carlos Gongora, Hyun Mi Choi vs Calista Silgado. Well, GGG had to get this fight in at some point, because Szeremeta is his IBF mandatory, and Golovkin does not want to vacate the belt. So here it is. As for the early start time, not sure why, but that’s official from DAZN, it’s been doubly confirmed. Akhmedov-Gongora is a matchup of undefeated super middleweights. Akhmedov is a prospect, Gongora isn’t, really, despite being a two-time Olympian. I don’t know how to put this softly so I’ll just say it flat: Olympians aren’t always particularly good, which you know well if you’ve watched Olympic boxing. Gongora’s 31 and has fought lousy pro opposition, but, well, he does have high level amateur experience. You never know! This is why we sports. Choi is defending her WBA 130 title against Silgado as Large Ed continues his attempt to corner the 130 market in women’s boxing and leave Mikaela Mayer with nobody to fight. It is what it is. Mayer might throw frustrated shade or whatever but maybe her promoter should have invested money into getting her opponents, which Hearn has for Terri Harper, and that’s with Harper having looked more vulnerable than Mayer so far.
