There are two cards tomorrow. GGG on DAZN, and then Oscar Valdez is in action on ESPN. He’s not fighting the best opponent by any means, but Oscar is a super fun fighter.
I’ve heard of Rolls I think I’ve seen him fight before but I don’t think he has a shot. Obviously I could be wrong but I don’t think has the power to have a Ruiz type upset.
That's a pretty good interview. I still feel like I'm getting fed a line of shit half the time when he talks but that was pretty good.
Seems like a 3rd fight with Canelo is next but I want to see Canelo fight Smith. Idk why people are interested in a third fight with ggg
Alright, here’s what we’ve got. First up: DAZN, 7:00 pm ET, Gennadiy Golovkin vs Steve Rolls. Main card starts at 9:00 pm ET. GGG is back with new trainer Johnathon Banks for his first fight since last September’s rematch loss to Canelo Alvarez. Steve Rolls is ... a man. Unbeaten, 35-year-old Canadian. Was on nobody’s radar. The fight is meant to be a showcase, and will be held at a 164-pound catchweight. The undercard is kinda like a pretty good ShoBox, basically, some good prospects in decent matchups. Here’s the full schedule for the show: Full card (DAZN, 7:00 pm ET) Gennadiy Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KO) vs Steve Rolls (19-0, 10 KO), catchweight [164], 12 rounds Ali Akhmedov (14-0, 10 KO) vs Marcus McDaniel (15-0, 2 KO), super middleweights, 10 rounds Brian Ceballo (8-0, 4 KO) vs Bakhtiyar Eyubov (14-0-1, 12 KO), welterweights, 8 rounds Israil Madrimov (2-0, 2 KO) vs Norberto Gonzalez (24-12, 13 KO), junior middleweights, 10 rounds Charles Conwell (9-0, 7 KO) vs Courtney Pennington (12-3-3, 5 KO), junior middleweights, 10 rounds Nikita Ababiy (4-0, 4 KO) vs Juan Francisco Barajas (5-0, 3 KO), middleweights, 6 rounds
And then: ESPN, 10:00 pm ET, Oscar Valdez vs Jason Sanchez. Well, it’s, uh, another one. I mean, when we heard Valdez would be back on this date, after GGG-Rolls was announced, it was, like, “Hey, cool, an alternative.” But then it was going to be Erick Ituarte, except someone forgot to grease the wheels and get Ituarte ranked by the WBO. So instead it’s Jason Sanchez. Look I’d be more up for complaining but I just saw Andy Ruiz Jr beat Anthony Joshua so what the hell do I know? And Valdez, like GGG, is generally worth watching just because he’s entertaining. Lightweight prospect Gabriel Flores Jr will be in the co-feature. Main Card (ESPN, 10:00 pm ET) Oscar Valdez (25-0, 20 KO) vs Jason Sanchez (14-0, 7 KO), featherweights, 12 rounds Gabriel Flores Jr (13-0, 6 KO) vs Salvador Briceno (15-3, 9 KO), lightweights, 8 rounds
LOL. Mora: "You're going to see stylistically similarities to Ali-Frazier here." Mannix: "Ali-Frazier? How hard did Danny Jacobs hit you?"
Ref told him to walk to this side, then the other and he had a sort of wobble walk. The ref told him after he stopped it that "you did the dance".
Mannix mentioned that on his podcast the other day as well. Apparently Canelo and Golden Boy are kind of obsessed with the idea of it.
