Wilder’s camp has said he didn’t have a busted eardrum, just a cut on the ear. Keep running with that theory though
This. You have to give Fury credit for hitting Wilder so hard that Wilder never recovered. But Fury also seems to have hit Wilder in just the right spot to where it fucked Wilder’s equilibrium up. It was pretty bizarre how Wilder reacted to it. The chances of that exact scenario happening again are rare. That’s not to say Fury wouldn’t just stop Wilder etc. Again, Fury is the much better boxer. But Wilder can definitely knock out Fury. I think the chance of seeing a fight like the first fight that goes the distance is greater than an early stoppage like the 2nd fight.
Right. Ultimately it's Wilder's responsibility to not get hit like that. There seems to some spot on the side of the head that produces some whacky results. Same thing with Joshua in the first Ruiz fight.
Wilder seemed way more hurt in the first Ortiz fight but his legs were jello after that shot from Fury
what did you make of the AJ v Parker fight? I’m not sure how good of an opponent Parker was. AJ def outboxed him . But AJ had the longer reach and the ref wouldnt let Parker get inside, kept breaking it up. Didnt think it was an especially impressive fight for AJ.
Been awhile since I watched it but remembered thinking Parker fought too timidly, like he was too scared of getting knocked out

I'm sure it's been discussed but I just finished the first episode of Showtime's "The Kings". Terrific stuff. My grandfather boxed in the army and he lived across the street from us. I remember watching those fights as a kid. Watching those guys go toe-to-toe in the 15th round of some of those battles is jaw dropping still.
SHO, 9:00 pm ET, Jermell Charlo vs Brian Castano A great main event here, obviously, for all four world titles at 154 lbs. The show also has Rolando Romero vs Anthony Yigit and Amilcar Vidar vs Immanuwel Aleem, but the draw is obviously Charlo-Castano for the undisputed championship. Don’t really need to get into it much more than that, it’s a no-brainer to tune in. Jermell Charlo (34-1, 18 KO) vs Brian Castano (17-0-1, 12 KO), junior middleweights, 12 rounds, for undisputed championship (Charlo’s WBC, WBA, and IBF titles and Castano’s WBO title) Rolando Romero (13-0, 11 KO) vs Anthony Yigit (24-1-1, 8 KO), lightweights, 12 rounds (Yigit missed weight) Amilcar Vidal (12-0, 11 KO) vs Immanuwel Aleem (18-2-2, 11 KO), middleweights, 10 rounds
2-1 Castano that other fury in the 2nd only 1 punch land by charlo that 3 round was won by Catajo at the end.
Unless I’m missing something, and I don’t think I am, Jermell is probably at the point he needs a stoppage.
