Interesting that Davis didn’t appear to know it was the 6th round. When they announced the knockout he said “Sixth?” as they read it.
Thought that was frankly a pretty mature performance from Tank and a real step forward. Rolly’s style is basically a lack of style, and Tank weathered the early storm, processed and then went on the offensive and landed the bomb. No need for a rematch. It’d be the same result. If Ryan’s willing to do it, let’s make Tank-Garcia.
What do you all think of that stoppage? I think you probably could have let him continue. I'm not saying I think it's necessarily a bad call I just have seen knockdowns worse than that be allowed to continue
he was done, he couldn’t even stand up straight……he was jelly and the fact his camp immediately took him to the back was proof, he was in another dimension
It looked quick to me watching it the first time, but on the replay you could see he was pretty loopy even when he was up and following directions.
Yeah I can't really decide what I think. He looked fairly sturdy on his legs by the end of the count but I'm obviously not in there like the ref is
I love boxing. I don’t want to see a man seriously hurt when it can be avoided. He was out on his feet and sending someone who hits like Tank out against a defenseless individual could have caused serious damage. There was way too much time in the round to let it continue.
100% agree with this. Romero was for sure out on his feet. When the ref asks him to move to his left you can see Rolly dragging his right foot going over there body and brain weren’t all back.
Not sure how reliable this dude is, so take it fwiw. But if it is real, this is going to be an absolutely incredible year for boxing. Especially if Tank-Garcia actually takes place in December.
usually when a fighter falls face first the fight is over. He did a great job getting up but if not for the ropes we might not be having this conversation. He’d have fallen face first and might have landed on his face. I can’t tell if he is sticking his hands out to brace the fall.
Really agree with this. Thought that tank did a nice job of controlling his emotions and boxing Rolly into that shot. I’ve mentioned it in here before - I’m a massive tank fan. I still need to see him in the ring with a true dog. I have questions about him when he is pressured. Last night he finally started to feint someone for once and jab with that which was really nice to see. When he allows someone to pressure him it gets weird with Tank, but he will always have that eraser in the left hand… maybe that’s why he doesn’t jab to keep guys off of him. Idk. We will see when he actually fights an elite dude.
As much as we want to see it I have serious doubts the Davis Garcia fight gets made. Whatever affiliation Gervonta has with Floyd going forward and showtime are going to ask for too much for Ryan to ink that deal. Shitty reality until some stuff changes.

I know what I’ll be doing Saturday. Boxing and trying not to fuck up some bacon wrapped chicken thighs too much.
At least the Haney fight will be on in the evening here. Can you imagine going to see some boxing at 10am like they are in Australia lol.
I don’t know but it seems like it happens all the time in Japan. I’m 95% sure their first fight was on a Tuesday as well. Because I remember watching it live when I got to work
