I've never seen another one like him. . James Toney was #2 in pfp rankings and he wasn't in the same universe as Roy when they fought. He made Toney look slow.
I was looking at his Wiki and of course Jorge Castro was the 1st boxer to take him the distance. Jorge Castro was a bad man and I love the way he fought.
Castro was getting destroyed the whole fight. Then round 9 happens. All it takes is 1 punch. Boxing record Total fights 144 Wins 130 Wins by KO 90 Losses 11 Draws 3
Saturday, May 17 Copper Box, London, England (DAZN) Time: 7pm BST / 2pm ET / 11am PT Fisher vs. Allen 2 main event ringwalks (approx): 10pm BST / 5pm ET / 2pm PT David Allen +220 Johnny Fisher -300 Johnny Fisher vs David Allen, rematch, heavyweights, 10 or 12 rounds Kieron Conway vs Gerome Warburton, middleweights, 12 rounds, for vacant British title and Conway’s Commonwealth title George Liddard vs Aaron Sutton, middleweights, 10 rounds Jimmy Sains vs Gideon Onyenani, middleweights, 10 rounds John Hedges vs Nathan Quarless, cruiserweights, 10 rounds Shannon Ryan vs Fara El Bousairi, super flyweights, 8 rounds A rematch of their “controversial” fight in December on the deep undercard of Usyk vs Fury 2. “Controversial” because Fisher received a split decision win, but most observers felt Dave Allen was hard done by the result. When this rematch was announced, Stumberg offered the promotional slogan: “Big Meaty Men Slapping Meat,” which was tragically rejected or outright ignored. Is this a great fight with world championship implications? No. Fisher remains a likeable young man who got some opportunities on TV because his dad did such a good job selling event tickets around the neighborhood. In the pre-Saudi era of this sport, this would be laughable or depressing as not just a main event, but the spotlight showcase of an entire weekend. But, we are where we are, the lads are obviously pretty evenly matched, they gave a good show last time around, and there’s fun to be had here if you care to give it your eyeballs. Kieron Conway and Shannon Ryan are the biggest stars appearing in support.

Welp, that's it for the day. Unless you count this DAZN, 9:00 pm ET, BoxFest #75. From MarvNation Promotions and Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California. Fernando Vargas fights former Jaime Munguia victim Gonzalo Coria, and Nathan Rodriguez also appears. Looks like only 38 ticketed seats are still available for this one, so act fast if you’re local and want to see it in person.
Thursday, May 22 DAZN, 10:30 pm ET, Bash Boxing. This one is a showcase aimed at promoting mental health in combat sports, with Corey Erdman and Al Bernstein on the call. Three eight rounders are the longest fights, with the listed main event a six rounder between Jonny “Magic” Mansour and Christian “The Land Shark” Avalos. Friday, May 23 DAZN, 1:00 pm ET, Terri Harper vs Natalie Zimmerman. For Harper’s WBO lightweight title. From a facility in Yorkshire formerly known as “Keepmoat Stadium,” which I thought was badass until I looked it up and learned it’s just the name of a UK homebuilding company that paid for naming rights. Maxi Hughes appears in support. Lower down on the card are two different IBO Continental belt fights. Ask Scott all about them during his live coverage! BLH will have live updates Friday, May 23 Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster, England (DAZN) Terri Harper vs Natalie Zimmermann, lightweights, 10 rounds, for Harper’s WBO title Maxi Hughes vs Archie Sharp, lightweights, 10 rounds Reece Mould vs Lewis Sylvester, lightweights, 10 rounds Tysie Gallagher vs Ebonie Jones, super bantamweights, 10 rounds, for Gallagher’s British and Commonwealth titles James Flint vs Haithem Laamouz, super lightweights, 10 rounds Ellie Hellewell vs Stevi Levy, featherweights, 10 rounds James Flint vs Haithem Laamouz, super lightweights, 10 rounds Saturday, May 24 The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland (DAZN) Time: 7pm BST / 2pm ET / 11am PT Josh Taylor vs Ekow Essuman main event ringwalks (approx): 10pm BST / 5pm ET / 2pm PT Ekow Essuman +240 Josh Taylor -330 Mike Balogun +1550 Moses Itauma -8000 Josh Taylor vs Ekow Essuman, welterweights, 12 rounds Moses Itauma vs Mike Balogun, heavyweights, 10 rounds Nathaniel Collins vs Lee McGregor, featherweights, 10 rounds Aloys Youmbi vs David Jamieson, cruiserweights, 10 rounds Aston Brown vs Reece Porter, middleweights, 10 rounds The optimist sees intrigue in the matchup here, even if it seems unlikely to factor into the world title picture. Taylor was an undisputed 140 lbs. champion and consensus Top 10 pound-for-pound fighter. Then, he hit a big wall in either weight management, accumulated damage, or a combination of the two when he first fought Jack Catterall in 2022. Taylor officially won a split decision that night, but public opinion had him losing the fight and the years long PR battle after it, and he’s since lost a Catterall rematch and a Teofimo Lopez fight. Realistically, if not officially, Taylor hasn’t won a fight in just over four years, and he’ll be at welterweight for the first time since his early pro career days 10 years ago. Against him steps Essuman, a capable if not necessarily exceptional welterweight who has one pro loss, a decision to Harry Scarff in late 2023. The hater’s take is that Taylor has looked lightly rinsed to thoroughly scrubbed for years now, while Essuman is already 36 years old and looks like a classic European/Domestic+ level guy. But, the question marks on both make this an interesting fight in my eyes. The undercard gives us promising young heavyweight Moses Itauma against Mike Balogun, Nathaniel Collins vs Lee McGregor for a lesser WBC award, and more! ******************************************************************************************************************************* Intex Osaka, Osaka, Japan (TBA) Angelo Leo vs Tomoki Kameda, featherweights, 12 rounds, for Leo’s IBF title
