Think Taylor was prob never that great. Seemed like he kind of easy moded into the belts and was easily beaten by Teofimo. Prob the first world class fighter he faced.
Looking at his resume on wiki I guess his best victory was Regis Prograis??? But yeah him now losing to plumbers and electricians is prob a new low
A few days late on this but it is ridiculous that Manny is going to fight again But it also makes me nostalgic of that era. complained of the politics at the time but would love having the option of Manny, Floyd, or Cotto fights a few times a year. The sport has been a little bit of a dud since Spence-Crawford.
Feel like we're in a transition period where a number of guys in different weight classes are aging out
Cinco weekend flopped till the second half of the weekend but that went head 2 head against some big nba playoff games
The card is designed as a lead-up to a potential Caleb Plant vs Jermall Charlo grudge match later in 2025
He's 18-3 as a professional. I mean he has some great highlights but the body of work isn't really there
Friday, May 30 The Theater at Virgin Hotels, Las Vegas, NV (DAZN) Darius Fulghum vs Bektemir Melikuziev main event ringwalks (approx): 12:30 am ET / 9:30 pm PT / 5:30 am BST Bektemir Melikuziev -116 Darius Fulghum -116 Bektemir Melikuziev vs Darius Fulghum, super middleweights, 12 rounds, WBA eliminator Eric Priest vs TBA, middleweights, 10 rounds Joshua Edwards vs TBA, heavyweights, 6 rounds Federico Pacheco Jr vs Calvin Barnett, heavyweights, 6 rounds Cayden Griffiths vs TBA, welterweights, 6 rounds Bek “The Bully” Melikuziev vs Darius Fulghum. A nice little super middleweight matchup within the Golden Boy stable. Melikuziev saw his stock fall significantly after his KO loss to Gabe Rosado in June of 2021, but he’s won eight in a row since then, most recently against fellow Golden Boy stablemate David Stevens last November. He missed weight in that fight, which would have been a title eliminator if he hadn’t popped the scale. Fulghum is 28, undefeated, with good power. This is a nicely matched main event – the sort of fight Golden Boy usually only makes in-house when at least one guy involved is near the end of a contract. Erik Priest vs Luis Arias is your biggest fight on the undercard, where 2024 Olympian Joshua Edwards also appears in his 2nd pro fight. ****************************************************************************************************************************************** Guadalajara, Mexico (DAZN) Manuel Gallegos vs Khalil Coe, rematch, light heavyweights, 10 rounds Manuel Gallegos vs Khalil Coe 2. From Guadalajara, Mexico. This is a rematch of their November fight in support of Jaron Ennis-Karen Chukhadzhian 2. Coe lost a lot of prospect hype that night, as Gallegos marched through his power and finished Coe off in the 9th round. Fun fight, though, and hopefully the rematch brings the same level of action. Murodjon Akhmadaliev defends his interim WBA belt at 122 lbs. against Luis Castillo in support. ******************************************************************************************************************************************* Saturday, May 31 Michelob Ultra Arena, Las Vegas, NV (Prime Video) Time: 8:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm PT / 1:00 am BST Caleb Plant vs Armando Resendiz main event ringwalks (approx): 11:00 pm ET / 8:00 pm PT / 4:00 am BST Caleb Plant -2400 Jose Armando Resendiz +1120 Jermall Charlo -1600 Thomas Lamanna +820 Caleb Plant vs Armando Resendiz, super middleweights, 12 rounds, for Plant’s interim WBC title Jermall Charlo vs Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna, super middleweights, 10 rounds Caleb Plant vs Armando Reséndiz. This is an attempt at a co-feature event from PBC, as Jermall Charlo moves up to super middleweight in a return to action against Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna. The talk has been that Plant and Charlo are here to warm up for a future PPV against each other, if that gets you fired up. Resendiz is a two loss guy you may remember from the time he tore Jarret Hurd’s lip apart on the undercard of Brandon Figueroa vs Mark Magsayo. LaManna is a capable, honest fighter, but not really on the level of any version of Charlo that’s still serious about the sport. Also on the card are our latest avatar of hope for a possible middleweight savior, Yoenli Hernandez, taking on Kyrone Davis, and promising 18 year old lightweight Curmel Moton.
My Dazn sub expired a couple weeks ago and I was waiting on some kind of special. Welp, they sucked me back in with a $13.99/month for a year.
any Boxing class should show his fights. probably would have saw him fight a little more if the War never happened.
Friday, June 6 DAZN, 8:00 pm ET, Brandon Moore vs Stanley Wright. DAZN, 9:00 pm ET, Khalid Twaiti vs Emanuel Moreno. Saturday, June 7 Scope Arena, Norfolk, VA (ESPN/ESPN+) Time: 9:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm PT / 2:00 am BST Keyshawn Davis vs Edwin De Los Santos main event ringwalks (approx): 1:30 am ET / 10:30 pm PT / 6:30 am BST Edwin de Los Santos +540 Keyshawn Davis -950 Abdullah Mason -2400 Jeremia Nakathila +810 Keyshawn Davis vs Edwin De Los Santos, lightweights, 12 rounds, for Davis’ WBO title Abdullah Mason vs Jeremia Nakathila, lightweights, 10 rounds How should Edwin De Los Santos be rewarded for his role in an all-time stinker against Shakur Stevenson? Why, with another title shot, in a main event on the same network that was embarrassed by that fight! But you have to admit he’s definitely earned it, going undefeated since then. He’s also gone winless, as he hasn’t fought since November 2023. To be fair, De Los Santos isn’t always that impossible to watch, and Davis doesn’t fight like Shakur. The point will be, I guess, trying to make clear that Davis is the REAL young star of the division, not the Top Rank-departed Stevenson. Abdullah Mason takes on Jeremia Nakathila. ****************************************************************************************************************************** Portman Road, Ipswich, England (DAZN) Time : 7pm BST / 2pm ET / 11am PT Wardley vs Huni main event ringwalks (approx) : 10pm BST / 5pm ET / 2pm PT Fabio Wardley -360 Justis Huni +250 Fabio Wardley vs Justis Huni, heavyweights, 12 rounds, for vacant interim WBA title Sam Gilley vs Louis Greene, super welterweights, 12 rounds, for vacant British title and Gilley’s Commonwealth title Pierce O’Leary vs Liam Dillon, super lightweights, 12 rounds, for vacant European title Mike Perez vs Steven Ward, cruiserweights, 10 rounds Taking place at Ipswich Town’s home ground, Portman Road. Wardley’s a big fan so it’s a neat deal for him. Huni stepped in as a replacement and is taking his own big crack at something here. I like the fight and Wardley is a really entertaining fighter to watch. Dillian Whyte will supposedly be on the undercard, along with Lewis Richardson’s pro debut and a European 140 lb title fight between Pierce O’Leary and Liam Dillon, plus more. **************************************************************************************************************************************** Caribe Royale, Orlando, FL (DAZN) Beatriz Ferreira vs Maria Ines Ferreyra, lightweights, 10 rounds, for Ferreira’s IBF title Luan Medeiros vs Tony Aguilar, lightweights, 8 rounds Keno Marley vs Sean Sparks, cruiserweights, 4 rounds Ferreira — the first one, to be extra clear, Beatriz — is one of the best in the sport and defends her lightweight belt. Another MVP card from the Caribe Royale, lots of prospects in action on the undercard. Not the greatest prospects, but MVP have taken a couple of smart paths for building their company. They’ve all but consolidated high-end women’s boxing, which is cornering a niche, and also they are stockpiling the types of prospects that might become something with decent backing. Many won’t, but the few that do pan out will make up for those who don’t. Golden Boy did this for years when they couldn’t afford blue chip guys. You give people a chance to earn it. ***************************************************************************************************************************************** Sunday, June 8 Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan (ESPN+) Time: 3:00 am ET / 12:00 am PT / 8:00 am BST Junto Nakatani vs Ryosuke Nishida main event ringwalks (approx): 5:30 am ET / 2:30 am PT / 10:30 am BST Junto Nakatani -1250 Ryosuke Nishida +630 Junto Nakatani vs Ryosuke Nishida, bantamweights, 12 rounds, unification for Nakatani’s IBF and Nishida’s WBO titles Tenshin Nasukawa vs Victor Santillan, bantamweights, 10 rounds Tomoya Tsuboi vs Van Thao Tran, bantamweights, 10 rounds Bantamweight title unification from Tokyo. Nakatani will be a big favorite, because he’s pound-for-pound material. Nishida’s a good fighter and it’s a fight that makes obvious sense. Tenshin Nasukawa returns on the undercard. ************************************************************************************************************************************** Gold Coast Convention Centre, Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia (DAZN) Date : Sunday, June 8 Time : TBA Jai Opetaia vs Claudio Squeo main event ringwalks (approx) : TBA Claudio Squeo +1600 Jai Opetaia -8000 Jai Opetaia vs Claudio Squeo, cruiserweights, 12 rounds, for Opetaia’s WBO title Ben Mahoney vs Joepher Montano, super welterweights, 10 rounds Tyler Blizzard vs Rocky Ogden, featherweights, 10 rounds Danny Keating vs Blake Minto, welterweights, 10 rounds Not the fight Opetaia (or anyone) wanted (maybe Squeo), but an Opetaia fight all the same. Feel free to chat about this in the live post for the Nakatani show, I’m sure we’ll all be dual screening.
