Really impressed by the defense. Pass rush was absolutely relentless for the 2nd straight week. Still worried about the offensive line. It’s not good and they lack any sort of quality depth behind the starters. Darnold is good?
I for one welcome Sam of House Darnold, the First of his Name, King of Check Downs and the Queen City, Lord of the Jets and Saints, and Protector of the Bank as our leader and savior. Praise Sam!
Defense has juice. Too early to make any proclamations but the secondary and D Line look really good. Like really good. Offense who knows. Red zone execution has been average at best. Darnold has been serviceable so far but you can tell he’s growing in the system. That said, serviceable QB is just “wild card round road game” spelled backwards so he needs to get better if this team wants to do anything meaningful. We are trying out actual clowns for place kicker tomorrow.
Watching Pat Elflein attempt to block is truly painful, I cannot believe we paid this guy. There was one play against the Jets where Quinnen Williams beat him so fast he didn’t know what to do. He dropped back into coverage (guessing he thought it was a screen) allowing Darnold to get the throw off and robbed himself of the easiest sack he’d get all year.
I genuinely wonder what it’s like to cheer for any football team at any level that has a good offensive line more than once a decade.
It must be amazing. I just remembered we are still paying Matt fucking Kalil who was another one of those signings that everyone outside of the organization knew was going to be a complete failure
Well our two best offensive players hurt and out and Jaycee did his Achilles. So great Thursday night football.
Glad we get a couple extra days to rest for the next game. Meanwhile Dallas has to play tonight so that should be good for the Thers
Gonna be a tough game. We'll see how good this Panthers D actually is this weekend. I'll be at the game yelling as loud as I can to pull the Cats through
We are going to have to find a way to score and be successful in the Redzone. FGs (or in the case of Gonzalez, missed FGs) isn't going to cut it this weekend. I think best case scenario, our D holds the Cowboys to under 24 points. I question if the Panthers can put up this many points, especially if the Cowboys D continues to play as well as it has the last two weeks.
