Will this rewatch require us to watch the storyline with the droids and the little dude? Cause I vote to skip that
They are terrible. But imo we should do a true re-watch. At bare minimum, it gives the people who are behind the ability to skip the droid/Padme episodes and a catch up.
The droid episodes and Padme as the focus episodes are bad, but they do make you appreciate the good ones that much more.
RETURNING AND NEW CAST MEMBERS WILL JOIN TOGETHER FOR THE FINAL INSTALLMENT OF THE SKYWALKER SAGA. Star Wars: Episode IX will begin filming at London’s Pinewood Studios on August 1, 2018. J.J. Abrams returns to direct the final installment of the Skywalker saga. Abrams co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Terrio. Returning cast members include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd. Joining the cast of Episode IX are Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant, who will be joined by veteran Star Wars actors Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian. The role of Leia Organa will once again be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher,” says Abrams. “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”
Interesting. I'm sure it'll be just a small cameo/bit-part, but editing is the real magic of movie making so they'll make it work.
I think solidifies that she won't die in 9. People don't want to watch her die on screen after her dying in the real world. She'll be scattered in the movie, more background, but will survive the ending.
Thrawn : Alliances is was really good and you should all read it. Big implications for the galaxy and possibilities for whats in the Unknown Regions. It's a self contained story, in that you dont need to read the first book. Lots if tie ins to clone wars and rebels though.
Yeah, they tied a lot of stuff in and really could go on in many directions. Is there another Thrawn book by Zahn planned or was this it?
Really glad it’s a December release. Although May is nostalgia, there’s something special about it being a holiday event that plays to the family and generational appeal.
What if the new CW episodes are an hour long? These will be the first episodes made solely for a streaming service and not for TV. They won't have to be 20-some minutes to make room for commercials.
