My guess is he thought she was dead and therefore didn’t bother and she wasn’t in tune with the traditional dichotomy of dark/light But all of this is ultimately i think because Filoni wanted to contrive a way to keep her alive and keep using her. I REALLY hope his next outing is between ROTJ and TFA off in some weird as hell spots in the galaxy.
Sure but we don't know how or when she was able to get off Malachor. She didn't willingly walk away from the Rebellion.
I'd assume that's what we're getting. Ahsoka and Sabine searching for/finding Ezra. Maybe intercut with some Resistance stuff. It'd be really ballsy of them to let either of the new live action trilogies jump off from this, but they don't seem that interested in bringing much of the animation stuff to the "real" Star Wars beyond obscure cameos.
We don't even know if she went back there, right? The last we saw of her was running in the time/space dimension thing. Probably will be the main part of the explanation for her not being present during the OT.
With as talented of a voice actor as he is, I’m really hoping we get some Hamill as older Luke in animated form, maybe as like a Jedi Indiana Jones looking for artifacts.
She jumped through the portal back to malachor, and walked back into the temple like she did after the original episode where she fought vader
Yeah, and that's a shit reason to invent a massive new power, particularly with all the mental gymnastics he now has to do to explain her absence. IMO it's poor writing, and bad for the entire story arc, to fuck with finality so readily as he's repeatedly done. It's just disappointing, particularly in light of how well Clone Wars complemented/helped the existing crap material, how much of Rebels relies on retconning much better source material.
I mostly agree. It would’ve been much more impactful had at least 1-2 others in the main crew had passed. I think this ending was throwing Filoni a bone because he never really got to finish TCW the way he wanted.
Not thrilled with that finale. Fucking pergil. Also. Ezra randomly deciding to jump through hyperspace with the pergil made no sense. Felt more like a finale of a kids show than a finale of a show that up until now has done a great job of blending children’s show with adult viewership. Still can’t wait for whatever is next.
i wish i hadn't been cucked into watching that entire awful series that just made all of star wars worse
Filoni just spent the last 10-15 minutes having his characters (and a borrowed one) express his own words directly to the audience, studio, fans, and critics alike. It felt almost entirely meta to me, especially regarding new potential projects, and a not so subtle message for others to keep their grimy fingers off his favorite characters, and he essentially kidnapped Thrawn as part of that...with a space octopus. Oddly enough, I'm ok with this.
I thought it was always going to be tough to end Rebels without having conflicts with the OT. I always viewed Rebels as a kid show with some interesting moments, but nothing to take too seriously so I'm fine with how it ended. it's pretty much what I expected.
Inevitable but no less sad. http://www.classicfm.com/artists/john-williams/news/john-williams-quits-star-wars/
I'm honestly happy and even a little bit surprised we're (probably) going to get the entire ST out of him. Feel like we've been on bonus time.
I’m not ashamed to say I will cry when he passes Just go to his IMDb and see all the scores he’s written, it’s staggering
you knew he was going to do something with the franchise eventually. I'm assuming this will be on their streaming service. 3 big live action series in production right now with the movies and "TV".
So I’m trying to catch up on Rebels. I watched the first half of this season. The second half starts at episode 9? Or am I wrong? I downloaded Disney Now but it stops at episode 9? What do I do?
Actually reading the description of the first episode of season 4 barely sounds familiar. Maybe I didn't watch. I’m confused.
He's old? He also doesn't think that highly of his work on Star Wars. He'll be 87 when he scores the music for episode 9 next year. It'd probably be a couple years after that before we see a Star Wars episode 10...
He’s not happy with how shitty the movie product was compared to his music. TLJ and the prequels have left him completely depressed.
They premiered a documentary of the making of TLJ this morning at SXSW. It’s quite good. And I shook Luke Skywalker’s hand and I’ll never be this happy again.
