Give me a Destiny or Division version of Star Wars I'm 1000% in. Even if it take 2 years of patching to get it right don't care will buy day 1.
Anyone watch the last batch of Forces of Destiny? Still pretty meh, but it confirmed Ahsoka knew about Anakin and Padme. Still bummed Vader didnt kill her in Rebels. Would have been much more meaningful than her living. Sigh.
The world between worlds. But really - just stepped away for a bit. Didnt really feel the urge to TMB for a while. Never intended to stay away forever. Figured Opening Day was as good as any to come back... because no one is ever really gone. Had a few people message me occasionally whenever my name came up here (i assume) . Someone reached out last week . Just decided I missed you all. Hope everyone is doing well.
Rebel Alliance, Empire, or Bounty Hunter IMO. Find a way for Bounty Hunters to be "hired" by either side to run sabotuer, assassination, other miscellaneous missons to help either side. Global score each week for each side.
my daughter (5) picked out ROTJ for our daddy/daughter movie night. That's it. I've basically reached the pinnacle of parenthood.
KEEP THIS SECRET - do not take photos and/or share the merchandising photos with friends or on social media Oops.
“I’m Poe” “I’m Rey” “I know” Imagine meeting Oscar Isaac for the first time and he already knows who you are
Imagine if Rey had just watched Empire Strikes Back before meeting him, since "I know" is jock code for "I want to make babies with you." Would have been mighty slippery in there.
The wife finished Clone Wars the other day, now she’s on Rebels. Watching some with her. Clone Wars is good but man, Rebels has so many emotional moments.
Take the best of each game, mix in some borderlands skill tree stuff and I will make it a full time job
This actually triggered me as much as anything in the movie. Were they both not on the Resistance base after Starkiller was destroyed? Am I supposed to believe that they never crossed paths before Rey took off after Luke?
I thought it was entirely plausible that they didn’t meet. She doesn’t meet him on screen in TFA and is only there very briefly before heading out on the Falcon; he was probably busy prepping the evacuation.
yeah, I think all that is supposed to happen pretty rapidly. When she leaves Finn isn't even in the bacta suit/tank yet and they knew the First Order was coming quickly. Since we didn't see it on screen I can completely believe they didn't happen to cross paths in the chaos, though they obviously heard about each other. TFA and TLJ probably spans around a few days to a week or so real time? It's a pretty compacted period. I'm glad they really have little choice other than some kind of time jump for IX.
The only person who knew what Rey did in TFA was in some sort of coma at the end of the movie and the start of this one. Even if Poe had seen Rey around after that, he wouldn't know she was anything more than Finn's crush/friend, and that she was kind of important in helping them get Luke. She was basically a legend he knew nothing about. In TLJ, he saw her destroy every fighter trying to kill them and then lift a bunch of rocks using the force to save the entire resistance. Would imagine that would make one a little star struck.
Bought the movie this week and saw it again. Best part of that is now I get to skip over the parts I hate and just watch the parts I love.
Maybe, but Poe was Leia's right hand man and would probably have at least heard something about Rey from her.
Right. He heard about her. I'm sure he knew she was important. Little different hearing about someone being important and then seeing that person save your ass twice, with one of those times being that person moving 100 massive rocks by lifting her arm a little.
Watching the director and jedi doc, you can really tell how truly bummed Mark was about Luke’s portrayal. Really hope he comes back as a force ghost in IX and can have some fun, akin to how Yoda is
For the record, I understand how petty an argument this is. That being said... I can't believe they wouldn't have crossed paths either around Leia or Finn. Rey witnessed Kylo kill Han and obviously had a moment with Leia. I would imagine Leia would have spent more time with Rey and had to at least plan the trip she was making for Luke. Poe seems to spend every possible moment with Leia and is involved with planning missions. Can't see them not being around each other prior to Rey leaving. And given both of their affection for Finn, I would think they would have crossed paths checking on him, even in a tight window. And if they weren't with Finn, they would have been with Leia....see above.
Right, but they didn't meet on camera. I think it's reasonable to decide "you know what, they didn't meet on camera, so maybe we should make that happen in this movie" for the sake of the two characters moving forward. There are a lot of issues I have with this movie. That one doesn't register in any way for me.
I'm slightly worried about this. My son LOOOOOOVES Kylo Ren. I need to lock my bedroom door at night.
Havent read any of this thread, so sorry if my opinions are already taken. I'd say I am a star wars fan, but not a fan boy. I've seen all the movies, never read any books, but know more about the Star Wars universe than most. Watched the last Jedi this afternoon for the first time. It was an ok movie. Force awakens may have been better, but neither were very good. I really feel that force awakens was essentially the basic plot of of a new hope and there were several times during the last Jedi that I said out loud "didn't this happen in the empire strikes back?" Neither were ground breaking and I feel neither plot was that great. I like Poe, Rey and Finn but couldn't care less about Kylo Ren. And how was someone as powerful as snoke killed that easily? I don't think I can believe that was a possible way to kill someone as powerful as him. I am not excited for episode IX and to be honest, I think the han solo movie is going to suck I thought rogue one was not only an awesome star wars movie, but an awesome movie in general, fwiw
So I don’t think I’ve heard this brought up, but Luke reaching out to Leia, I took it as his force power woke her up from her coma. Which, if true, makes him that much more powerful.
The assault on the rebel base was pretty much the same thing in both movies. A young Jedi seeks a Jedi master in hiding for training on an isolated planet etc
There were also lightsabers in both movies, I noticed that too. Anyways, a few minor parallels between the two assualts on the rebel bases but Rey going to Luke isn't "seeking training," she's trying to bring him back. Luke insists on the training, if I'm remembering correctly. Dang, guess I'm going to have to go back and watch it again to refresh my memory. Someone posted on reddit that watching TFA and TLJ back to back smooths out a lot of the dissonance. We just had two years to dissect and discuss and theorize, while most of us had watched ANH > ESB > ROTJ back to back because we didn't live through the gaps.
